My baby girl just turned one. I wanted to throw here a really cool party but we are on a pretty strict budget right now. My mom and I are both pretty crafty so we went to work looking up different decoration ideas that we could make together and save me some money doing so. I wanted to have an owl themed party and I found a ton of ideas online for cute and easy decorations.
We made her a birthday banner for the wall, I found all the supplies at Walmart and spent a total of $7 on them. Plus, we have enough stuff left over from it that we will be able to make banners for the other kids birthdays and maybe some stuff for Amelia’s scrapbook.
Instead of getting a cake from the bakery or buying expensive cake toppers, I made my own cupcakes, bought some owl die-cuts from a store on etsy and made my own toppers. I saved some of the toppers so I can take the owls back off the skewers and use them in her scrapbook. I made 4 dozen cupcakes and the total spent was around $25.
We also made her invites. I wanted to add her picture to them and we just printed wallet sized pictures and glued them on. They turned out so cute! Plus people were able to easily remove the picture from the invite so they could keep it. I also took the picture that we used instead of going to a photographer. I may not be a professional but I can take a pretty good picture. The supplies to make them only cost $8 for ten invites.
For the rest of the decorations I found a cute pink heart table cloth on sale for $1 and just got plain pink cups, plates and napkins at a party supply place. Overall I was able to throw her a really nice birthday party without breaking the bank. It just took a little creative effort.
