I made the switch to mama cloth a couple years ago. I love mama cloth and all the benefits that come along with it. The only issue I have run into is traveling with it. Before the switch I used to be a tampon user, I liked them because they were discrete and I could easily slip them into my purse. It took some figuring out but I have found a way to travel with my mama cloth and still be discrete.
I am a small purse type of girl. I quickly found out that a small purse would not work if I wanted to be able to put my mama cloth in it while I was out and about. I thought well I could just use my diaper bag instead, the only problem with that was I am not always out with the kids and I really did not want to haul it around while out without them. So I switch over to a large purse during that time. It is big enough that I can fit several pads and my mama cloth wet bag in it, along with my other items I usually keep in my purse.
My mama cloth stash is still growing, right now I only have enough to last a couple of days without washing. This is fine when I am home but when we are traveling it would be nice to have more. Since the main place we travel to is my inlaws house, I have free range of their washer and dryer. If I was ever somewhere that this was not the case I would just simply find the nearest laundromat. I have traveled with my cloth diapers before, we went to Branson for a week with my parents, luckily the resort had a laundry room that people could use, I just made sure to bring my own laundry soap since I make my own.
I am happy that I have found ways to keep using my mama cloth while we travel. It is not like I can plan all our traveling around my cycle and I do not want to go back to tampons. I love my mama cloth.
