My 10 month old has had a runny nose and had trouble sleeping for about 2 weeks now. I really think it's just a cold and there's not really anything the doctor could do about it, but since it's lasted so long (no sign of getting any better), I'm thinking about trying to get her in today. If I don't go today, I'll have to wait until Monday, and she slept terribly last night because she was too stuffy to breathe. So, more experienced moms, should I take her, or am I just being a classic first-time overreacter?

Have you tried saline and bulb suction for her nose, esp before bed? They also have Vicks Baby Rub and Pediacare plug-ins (http://www.drugstore.com/products/prod.asp?pid=149830&catid=9329&aid=337459) for colds you could put in her room, I think they have some especially for little ones.
I don't like to medicate my kids unless I have to so I would try everything else first, esp since she's under 2yrs and can't really take OTC meds. You could always call your Ped and see if they can recommend something you can do at home and see how it goes.
