How do you store your homemade bread? I've been using (reusing) plastic grocery bags - which is probably not the cleanest method LOL
but it's working for now - I just recently started making bread at home so it's all still a little new. I've been looking into a bread bag, anyone use that?
I don't want to get a huge bread box or a tupperware type deal 'cause we don't have a lot of space and when the loaf is small the container doesn't shrink along with it.
ideas and experience please, bring it :)

I don't know hon. I bought a plastic bread box from Avon. But like you said, it's kinda bulky. I actually have one of those wooden onion/potato/bread bin things. But I wouldn't put the bread in there without wrapping it. What about a cloth bread bag? Probably wouldn't keep the bread from going stale though.
What about something like that? I used to have one it worked pretty well. I just put it on my Amazon wishlist.
ha ha. I had seen it but didn't really read the description. it's expandable (I thought it looked kinda' small LOL)
I put it on my wishlist too, but I'm still wondering about a reusable bag...

I actually reuse bread bags. When I buy a loaf of bread or bag of buns, I keep the bag in my freezer once it's empty. I reuse it until it has holes or whatever. You can also buy large freezer bags, not the zipper kind, just the ones with ties, and use those. If you don't want to use plastic, I have no idea, lol :) I'd love to find a better solution too.

The one I have from Avon looks exactly like the one on Amazon. I haven't used it yet, so I can't really say how I like it to use.

I've had a similar issue too. I actually would love a glass container to keep my bread in (even though it would take up a lot of space) but they're really hard to find so my husband got me a nice plastic tupperware one which isn't bad but is kind of a pain to wash. I would like to hear if anyone has any suggestions on an easy to clean or glass bread container.

After I bake my bread, I pop out the loaf, let it cool, slice it with an electric knife, and put the whole loaf back into the loaf pan. Then I cover with aluminum foil. You could also use one of those shower-cap type pan covers (they are on my Christmas list :)) I did have the Amazon bread keeper on my list, but I have found the loaf pan method is just as easy.

We use one of those square ice cream buckets, it fit's the loaf well, but it does take up space.

Lately I have been using a large ziplock or whatever other plastic bag I have on hand. I would really like to get away from using plastic, but I can't find anything I really like. I thought about using a cloth bag, but I would really prefer something I can see through.
