My mom totally swears by jumping jacks, lol. She says that's what helped her avoid pitocin with my brother when her water broke. She did jumping jacks in the hospital room until contractions started!

is it possible to go for a swim or just take a nice bath? I can see you have kids to take care of, though, so that might be hard!

aww Im sorry! Honestly, my MW told me not to bother with Castor Oil at all. Have you tried raspberry tea? Take a nice hot bath and try to relax( i know WAY easier said then done!)

Try yoga - all the positions they tell you not to do while preg. Got me to 4 cm after 5 days of having my water broken with no contractions.

Yesssss. I can so relate. I was having contractions too, I was dilated to 1.5 though, but after 2 hours I hadn't progressed any so they sent me home AHHH! Stupid cervix- agreeed.

I haven't gone to L&D yet, but I've been having bad contractions for a week now and today they have upkicked but they are not regular. My back has also been stinging for over 3 hours. Not sure how far dilated I am, I would guess about at least a two as I've started losing the beautiful plug this morning.

I feel for you, it's so frustrating having constant contractions that mimick labor, I've got it in my head with this baby that I'm not leaving for the hospital until I physically cannot stand it or my water breaks.

Here's to hoping it's soon for all of us!

Thats what I said, but DH paniced and made me go to the hospital the other night, even though I knew it was a false alarm. :eyeroll: men. And I wouldn't be so sure about being at a 2, I was only 1.5 and I've completely lost my mucus plus. Lol. I hope your labor progresses though... and mine starts up again!! I might have to try to do yoga...

uhhh yeah, not so sure @ the yoga thing (see my siggy)... I inverted (upside down) until 8 months with DD she was still 40 +4...

However, very deep squats can get baby to engage... If you haven't been doing them all along do them up against a wall & or with your DH holding your arms... feet wide (very wide/ toes slightly turned out/ put a rolled up towel under your heels if they pop up) and chill... come up VERY slowly (be mindful of the hips/ relaxin can wreck havoc on the hip joints/ make them TOO loose)...

I would still avoid any abdominal twists (under EVERY circumstance) and inversions (if you don't normally do them)... There isn't much to avoid while pregnant, but twists put undue stress on muscles that are already on the brink (it's not really about baby safety) more about muscular safety HTH!

Has ayone checked what position your baby is in? I'm talking beyond vertex or breech...is Baby's head straight on your cervix, or cocked to the side? Is it facing your front, back, or one side? Sometimes if baby isn't just right, the contractions aren't dilating your cervix because they're not *meant* to...they're happening to reposition baby.
Hugs mama...I feel your pain and hope baby makes an appearance earthside soon!
