This thread is for all of us ladies who are still trying for our first living child.
The truth is at the end of the day when we're anxiously awaiting that BFP.......and it's a BFN we don't have any precious LO's to hold in our arms. We have no comfort in the children we already have, since we have none.
And sometimes it makes us sad to keep hearing about everyone else with children, and stories about those children just hurt. So we won't mention any children here. So it's a safe place without judgment when we get jealous.

Erin - Let me know when you're back and I'll give the new thread making task back to you. It is fun though.
AFM - I think I'm at 2 DPO, which is super exciting. I'm all about having my pre "O" phase shorter.
As always, if there are any changes (and I'm sure there are) please let me know so that I can adjust!

Thanks for answering for me.....I sleep during the day for whatever reason and I am awake at night. Maybe that will be perfect for when we actually do have our baby. Oh and yes IUI is a medical procedure where the sperm is put into the uterus to increase the chance of fertilization.

So, ladies anything exciting going on?
AFM - I got my official ff ovulation detection so I'm pretty stoked! I was a bit surprised since my projected "o" date was today. We seemed to be around the right times though, we will see in a couple weeks! FF hasn't adjusted my af date but I am going to try to wait until 1/11 to test. I expect af 1/8 so we shall see. :babydust: to all!

:babydust: :babydust: Hope you catch the egg, Holly!
AFM - Scarcely any timely BDing due to suspected O-time while at my "overly cramped with family" brother's place. Doesn't mean we can't do it just for fun the next few weeks, though.
We saw my husband's bestfriend from growing up -and his wife is pregnant, expecting their first baby in April. We are now officially the last couple we know who don't have kids. I can't help but be THRILLED for them, though, as this baby was a surprise, conceived while using BC, because DH's friend didn't want kids - wife was sadly going to try and live without little ones. Now, while scared, DH's friend is also looking forward to being a daddy. Hoping this helps light a fire under my DH's you know what, and he will be more willing to work with my TTC schedule. Ordered the OPK sticks from Amazon and they should be here before O time next month. Scary thought - ONLY 3 cycles for TTC if going to have a little one before Christmas 2011! Is it unhealthy to think that way?

Hi girls! Sorry I've been away. My holidays get so busy, and frankly it is nice to take a hiatus from the internet for a bit, you konw? Not much happening---just boring pre-O phase.
Catch that eggie Holly!!!

Yeah, it's just that I can't believe I went thru yet another holiday with no BFP, no baby, nada. Feels like I am just watching years go by and not getting what I really want.

Just found this in the Birth Announcements forum:
It's a boy! Asher was born 12:08 am on December 17th. Asher was 7lbs 9oz. Baby and mama are doing great :-)
Our own Amanda - Lavender Dragonfly - has had the first baby from a member of our thread!!!
Please read her BFP announcement. So inspiring and a reminder to never give up!

Slowly! Yesterday I thought I was starving to death, I think I ate roughly five meals. If it were when I was three months pregnant it would have made sense but at 4dpo it just means I was a piggie. :giggle: The 8th is a long way away.
Oh, Chaca, I forgot to say, if you chart and post a link I can add it in with your info. If you don't, no problem. I'm one of the few who posts mine, but I love looking at other peoples!
How's it going for you ladies? Oh and does anyone know when Erin gets back?

The 8th is a long way away. That will be 12 dpo for you?? I find that in the days after the holidays, I stay hungry. I think the constant grazing I do over Christmas Eve, Christmas Day get's me in the munchie habit. ARGH.
I checked out your chart on FF. Looks pretty interesting. I've got the wondro sticks coming. I am thinking maybe I'll try bulding the chart. Do you have to use a special thermometer?
Not sure about Erin. I think it was at least a 2 week trip but maybe longer.
Aubrey - Any AF? Did I miss an update?

my chart looks a little weird this time. My pre o temps are usually under the cover line. You use a basal body thermometer. I ordered mne on amazon but most drug stores should carry them. You use that kind because it gives a more detailed reading, 98.03 as opposed to 98.0.

Laure, AF showed up just in time for the holidays. CD1 was on December 19. I'm glad to be moving on with this cycle, but of course I was out of town on CD3, so I will have to wait until next cycle to do the blood test my doc wants to check my ovulation.
Holly- I feel your pig out pain. Now that I know there was no bun in the oven I'm really embarrassed at at how much I've eaten in the past month! Gonna try to be healthier in the new year! (not a resolution per se, just convenient timing...) Dang you cold weather comfort food!!! and holiday cookies!!!

DH and I are starting a get healthy kick in the new year too. Ours is also timing. We're tired of being out of shape. We were always relatively in shape and active in school, five years of an office job is catching up quickly. We are hoping to begin either next week, or the week after (the beginning of next pay). We got an exercise bike for Christmas. Would you ladies wait to start a work out routine until af shows or I get a bfp? Either way, it'll only be a little over a week from now.

Sorry to thread crash, but since you still have me under NTNP I hope no one minds!
Here's the story:
I'm 13 dpo today. Very mild PMS, no real preggo signs at all, but on a whim I figured I'd pee on one of my OPK's and a (expired since October 15th) HPT's just to crash my hopes so I wouldn't be sitting on pins and needles tomorrow.
Imagine my surprise when they both turned pink.
So I stopped at the Dollar Tree on the way home, and after holding it 5 hours - peed again.
This morning's on top, this evening on the bottom. I dipped another expired for comparison.
So it looks like our daughter is due to rejoin us on 9/9/11 - two years to the day from when she left. I just have to make it past the 6w mark, and then I'll be able to breathe (some).
Never give up, ladies. If it can happen to me after a year of trying, it can happen to anyone!

Holly - Thanks for updating our initial post with our team's happy, happy news! I hope you, Samantha, and Chaca have BFP's this cycle to add to our list!
AFM - OMG I can't believe it, but my DH has just agreed to be fully on board with my BD demands for the next few cycles. While I'VE been TTC for a year, HE's really been NTNP with no concept of ovulation cycles, etc... I mentioned that we found out over Christmas that his best friend is "reluctantly" expecting. Well I just explained to my DH that if we can "get on the ball," he and BF can completely commiserate together about the loss of their 38 year old "youth." :roflmbo:
Anyway, he was like "yeah, I was thinking that." With DH more invested and the Amazon OPK's on the way (plus Ten's great news), I feel really hopeful headed into the new year.
Hope all of you ladies have a safe and happy New Year's Eve,
and we ALL have a 2011 with BFP's!

Thank you for all the congratulations, ladies - they mean the world! I hope some of you come join me on the September board soon! I would love nothing more than to see you ladies have your dreams come true.
I still can't quite believe mine did, even though I took a digi this morning and it very obligingly said PREGNANT. Best New Year's Day ever. I left it on the counter in the bathroom and I keep going in there just to look at it.
Laure - so glad DH is FINALLY on board all the way!
