My last couple weeks have seemed to go SO slow. But at the same time, I'm freaking out because the end is looking closer and closer! I still feel like I'm in early pregnancy and I shouldn't have this belly or anything. I can't wait until I can get stuff done and feel a little more ready.

I still don't even look pregnant. Most people are shocked to hear that I am!

ETA: It is 9:30 am--
It is 3 days, 0 hours, 30 minutes, 2 seconds
until Monday, April 4, 2011 at 10:00:00 AM (Chesapeake time) which is when we have our Ultrasound!!

DH is MOST LIKELY taking a vacation day, so hopefully its a good day. Poor Lucas has to have blood work done that day too. :(

It's FINALLY April. OMG, March went soooo slow. I have a lot going on this month, too. Tomorrow is my second u/s, Monday is OB appt. Then April 22 is DD's b-day and that Sunday is Easter. The following weekend, my BIL is getting married and we are staying in a hotel for two nights. The hotel has a pool and I am super excited! Weird, I know, but I love hotels and pools. LOL!

I love hotels & pools too! You just reminded me of stuff to add to my list!

We are going to Baltimore, MD on the 9th & 10th to bury my Grams' ashes on her Dad's gravesite and we'll be staying in a hotel. My only concern is that it has a pool & hot tub! (I know I can't stay in a hot tub long, but I will totally get in for a minute & then soak my legs!)

Finally APRIL!!! I agree with Crystal and Jacky - These weeks in March felt SOOOOO long! We have a ton birthdays and appts this April, so hopefully it'll go by faster.

Steph - I'm so excited for you to find out what you're having! I've got Keira, Cambria and myself sending lots of estrogen vibes ;) I would LOVE to have a pool this summer!!!

It was almost 100 yesterday (well I checked at 12pm and it was 98...so it probably was 100) and I'm prepared for the same thing today. Keira had a great time playing in the hose mister, and it was fun and all...but maaaaaaan I'm not sure I can do 4 more months of this hot of weather!

If April showers brings May flowers, What does April snow storms bring?!!!! I hate snow!

Anyway April is birthday month here too! Dh's birthday (I have no idea what to get him) Maybe I will do yankee tickets, it is just to cold though. He gave me a baby girl for my birthday lol! Well a trip to NY to watch opening season games for college basketball.

Ds2 turns the big 2 this month also! My baby is growing up so fast. It makes me sad but excited at the same time. Oh and what do you get a 2 year old for there birthday?

Yuck-April snow storms shouldn't even be allowed in the same sentence!

My son is getting a train table & probably more Thomas or Toy Story stuff for his 2nd birthday. We got the train table on sale after Christmas. He'll definitely get Toy Story 2 on DVD/Blu Ray/Digital combo if we haven't bought it before then.

I can't decide (yes, I'm thinking party 6 months in advance) if we'll do a Thomas theme or a Toy Story theme and I also can't decide if we'll rent the church's gym like we did last year or if we'll just do it at home or a park. The newbie will be only a couple months old, so the church or home would be most convenient.

April 4th- DS#1 starts a skating class that goes for 6wks every Monday
April 5th- OB appt
April 7th- DS#1's 7th birthday! Going out to dinner
April 8th- DS#1 is having a friend stay the night for his "party"
April 13th- Both boys start swim lesson that will be every Wed affternoon
April 16th- Oregon Meet Up for lunch!!
April 19th- My Birthday!
April 24th- Easter

Today is my ultrasound! :lostit: I'm guessing it will be another girl. If by some crazy miracle it's a boy we will be pretty stoked.

I did some weeding in the garden yesterday to make room for an edible flower bed for Izzy to plant. Izzy and June played in the sandbox. Oh who am I kidding? They played in the mudpit formerly known as the sandbox! :giggle: Izzy was busy relocating worms to the compost bin and June ate sand and chalk. June also filled up pails of sand to move to the flower bed. She happily clapped and said "Aaaaa" (Yea) each time. I made a small dent in the bark but there is still more to go.

I need a new baby monitor badly. Mine does not reach my property. June does not cry when she wakes she just starts stripping and giggling so I need a video monitor. I'm thinking of getting a wireless web cam and downloading an app for the ipod. Anyone else have a monitor they like?

Snow? I'm so very sorry Alison. I don't have boys, but my girls and their friends love Little People. And Izzy's radio flyer trike still gets tons of use a couple years later.

Just as I am sorry for 100 degree weather for Lauren. It is a great reminder of why I left Southern California. I really need the reminder when it has been weeks and weeks of Portland gray.

Ok so my lo's are not spoiled or anything but they have all the things listed so far.

Toy storys from the Grandparents. Train set from christmas 2 yrs ago for ds1. They have an old school swinn bike that we got them and a buzz lightyear crazyness bike from grandpa for christmas this past year. They have dinosaurs galore.

Everytime I turn around I am trying to donate more toys. As of now he just likes to play with whatever ds1 lets him play with.

Writing it seems like more but they do not have crazy amounts of toys--or maybe I am in denial.

Ohh, I forgot to add the Oregon lunch to my list. Duh, I even bumped the thread.

Anyway, DD is getting a sand/water table for her 2nd birthday. We have a big deck and plan to put it there. She can play to her hearts content and then we can hose the whole thing down. She will also get a play shovel and rake. Maybe a climbing structure thing from my parents. I will probably pick up a few of the Thomas trains that she doesn't have.
As for a party, yeah, I'm bad and not doing a party, per se. We are going to our fave resturant with the whole family and some friends. The manager/head waitress is a friend of the family and I am taking her the Thomas decorations ahead of time. She will get the area ready for us. We did a party last year and it was cold, rainy and windy. Plus, DD was crabby and needed a nap. Being 26wks pregnant and doing a party is not my idea of fun.

And Izzy's radio flyer trike still gets tons of use a couple years later.

OK this gave me an idea or reminded me about the radio flyer wagon:lostit:

I want the old school metal one not the plastic kind. Anyone know where I can get that?

jackyl08
04-01-2011, 09:22 AM
Yay, Amy! KUP!

I know you can the metal Radio Flyers. My friends DD's have each gotten one and they are two and four. Around here, you get them at Fred Meyer(Krogers). Maybe Toys R Us? DD got a wagon last year. It's a metal John Deere wagon that's pink. DS will have to learn to like pink, I guess. LOL! Our Cozy Coupe and Radio Flyer trike are also pink. Oops.

I know you said metal, but we got Izzy this wood one and a canopy:

It has really held up well and is spacious enough for 2 or 3 kiddos. I highly recommend it!

Looks like we will have some decent weather today and this wknd so since I actually have tomorrow off we are going to start cleaning out the garage and purging lots of stuff. dh has brought home lots of boxes too so I can start packing non essentials, and stacking stuff in the garage. Hoping that the weather stays nice so we can park outside.
This is going to be a whirlwind month I think! Just looking forward to getting settled in somewhere before summer starts!

Oh and DH has been reaching out to some clients and might have some job leads!! Just goes to prove it pays to know ppl! lol

So much to do today!! So I better get moving!!! Have a great weekend ladies!!!!!

Lauren!!! 100 degrees!!!! I'd be dying. I am a very hot person....especially when preggo. Anything about 72 and I start to feel uncomfortable. seriously. We rarely get the 100s here, but hot and very humid 80s and 90s in july and conviniently august. I'm planning on lots of sitting in the shade, going to the lake and hopfully visiting my parents a few times (cable and a/c...YES!!!).

The lake is Lake Michigan...which is always freezing cold!!! Even in the middle of summer, your whole body cramps up just stepping in. 60something degrees. a little too cold.

but there is a water treatment plant just down the road from us and we discovered a great swimming area behind the plant. (it should be noted, this is not a WASTEWATER treatment plant, but rather treating lake water to be used in the city...drinking and so forth). We were walking along the beach early spring last year when we discoverd a small stream of water coming out of the back of the plant and flowing into the lake. I remember talking with DH about what kind of water that was and wondering how safe it was etc.

on another walk, in early summer, we saw people swimming in the stream behind teh plant! and not just a few people, probably 20+ people. We dipped our toes in and the water was warm...like almost bathwater warm. Next time, we wore swimsuits and spent over an hour with almost 40 other people swimming and enjoying the nice water. I know, it sounds a little crazy, but, I figure, there are obviously some sort rules about water conditions, and these people knew about it and felt comfortable enough to swim in it. The water is really clear and quite nice to be in. So, we'll probably go for walks there a lot this summer I think. :)

Luke got that one for Christmas from my Grams. (he has a lot of stuff from her, how am I going to keep myself from being sentimental & keeping it FOREVER because she bought it? definitely keeping all of his Thomas stuff & that wagon though...) And we paid more than that at Christmas. You can do ship to store w/ free shipping & pick it up in store if your WM doesn't carry it or if they charge more in store. (they charged $10 more in store here!)

Thanks Naomi! Yes! I can't tell you how many times I've moved in my life, but it's comes out to more than my age... lol! So I am always purging ! I don't like clutter and I am not a sentimental hoarder. Most of the stuff I'll be getting rid of is just stuff I haven't wanted to deal with yet. But this is a great opportunity for me to slim down our belongings and have less to move like you said!

I just got a text from dh and poor guy just is ready to throw in the towel. One more reason we are moving on. They treat him like crap, even when he is so important to the company and the reason it runs so well. I hope he can stick it out for a few more weeks until he gets something lined up.

I need to do the same thing. Our garage has boxes, unopened from when we moved in 4 years ago. :( :hide:

AFM: Just got fluffy mail!!! One of Luke's DDC Mamas knit him some shorties & they are adorable! He's napping, I'll add pictures when he gets up!

I also got the wall-border for his room.

Are there any tips or tricks for putting that up? Its one of the peel & stick varieties & says it is removable. There is already a level line in the room, so I planned to just follow that!

had our u/s today - everything looked okay, I think... I've never had a baby u/s with just a tech before and it was HORRIBLE - she wouldn't say anything, I have no idea if our baby is really okay, i mean everything looked normal, but I was used to our OB in vermont doing it and telling me everything she was doing as she was doing it and then giving us a clean bill of health and congratulating us on our way out :(. I feel even more stressed than before now... ugh.

They shipped the info to my midwife and I'm going to call her later today just to make sure all is well, but still...

Dh held strong and didn't want to know the gender so we didn't find out, BUT I saw some bum shots that looked quite girly to me, three times... but after we said we didn't want to find out the tech was like "Well, I haven't seen it yet anyway." But I had seen it 2 times (or I thought) already, AND she looked there again one more time and didn't do any other measurements, just looked, looked girly to me again. Even dh admitted it looked more girly.

So I would be surprised if it wasn't a girl, but a boy would be amazing too!!!

Anyway, feeling kind of down on a day that I should be ecstatic :(. I'll see if I can scan in our babes profile soon.

Even though you're on green team - lookin girly is great news ;)

I'd definitely call your midwife & ask to at least get a clean bill of health. I can't imagine if I didn't have my appt. right after the US, bc our techs will ONLY tell you the gender!

mommyof2wildboys
04-01-2011, 02:36 PM
That's how it is here..... The techs really aren't supposed to say anything but their gender thoughts. I have had awesome techs though who once they realize I know what I'm looking at don't hold back on anything. I have had enough ultrasounds myself and working in a OB office, I know the major things to look for and what they should look like: 4 chamber heart, brains in the head, cleft lip/palate, and 3 part cord.

I'm sure everything is fine or else they would have call our midwife right away :)

sugar_crystalz
04-01-2011, 02:54 PM
Ugh, I hate how techs can't say anything also. I watched everything she typed in, though, and didn't see anything that worried me, but it was still nice to get the note from my OB that everything was ok.

And 100 degrees?!?! It was snowing here a little earlier. I found out today that this week last year we had 75 degrees... ugh. I just want it to warm up so I can paint Yesenia's room and feel like I'm getting somewhere! And I had to order another $400 worth of propane today. I really want to start ordering the last of the baby stuff I need, but I can't order anything right now. I also really need more maternity clothes. It's amazing that I've been through 3 pregnancies and still have next to nothing. My last pregnancy being at home I think I just wore track pants and stuff like that.

Ok enough complaining by me.

Well, I had a totally crazy day. I was loading the girls in the car to take them to preschool, and I wasn't paying attention as I was closing the lift gate of my car. I pulled the corner of it down onto my head HARD. Immediately blood started pouring out of my head. I called dh who came home to take me to the ER. Ended up with 4 staples on my scalp. Crazy thing it they gave me nothing before putting the staples in or for afterwards. They said I can take Tylenol if I need it, but so far I haven't. I can't even tell I hurt it unless I touch the area. What really stinks is I can't wash my hair for a couple of days. I got to hear the baby's hb though, so that was reassuring! Why do all the craziest things happen to me while I am pregnant?

OUCH! That sucks--at least you're not in pain!

AFM:
I took my little brother out to dinner tonight. He's in his last few weeks of his first year of college & broke. He only lives 20 minutes away but I'm lucky to see him 2-3 times a month.

DH stayed home & worked in the kitchen.

I'm stuffed (we went to I-Hop) and tired. I craved pancakes since a few days ago. With Luke, the pancake thing took like a MONTH to fix (we literally went to I-Hop several times a week & I'd eat left-overs in between!) so I'm hoping pigging out on the All-You-Can-Eat special tonight did it for me!

I've also been craving chocolate soft serve ice cream, like from DQ. Well, there was one right across the street from I-Hop, so I was totally stoked. We pulled in & get this--they said they had no chocolate ice cream, bc they got rid of it for the winter! WTF? I didn't buy anything. :(

My brother said it was probably an April Fool's thing, but don't you think they'd have said something before I drove past the window w/o stopping to spend any $$?

I've also been craving chocolate soft serve ice cream, like from DQ. Well, there was one right across the street from I-Hop, so I was totally stoked. We pulled in & get this--they said they had no chocolate ice cream, bc they got rid of it for the winter! WTF? I didn't buy anything. :(

My brother said it was probably an April Fool's thing, but don't you think they'd have said something before I drove past the window w/o stopping to spend any $$?

Luke's cranky & fussy.

I think I'd have been like: "You'd better not be messing with a pregnant woman..." I hope you get your fix. :giggle2:

Amy: I can't wait to hear how the U/s went!

AFM: It was such a good day yesterday and today started out BAD! Before noon DH was wigging out b/c we haven't done our taxes yet. He was going on about how the house was such a mess, nothing was organized, this happens every year. Yeah, he kind of goes off the deep end... If only you'd been flies on the wall to hear our very first argument a couple months before our wedding... Oh my... 'possible cavities' became 'OMG YOU ARE GOING TO NEED ROOT CANALS!!!- YOU NEED TO GO TO THE DENTIST NOW!!!!!' ... in about 20 minutes time... and no, I'm not exaggerating...
Anyway, I finally got him to calm down. So, at this point we have all but one maybe two things all set to mail our info to our tax preparer. I just have to rewrite my lists of itemized expenses. Ok, it's really late now, so I really need to go to bed, like an hour ago...:giggle2:
Uh oh, I hear DS up in his crib talking to himself... this may be another long night...please pray he sleeps!! Thx.

Owie! Glad you and baby are ok! :holysheep:

Early morning for me- I have to be at work at 6. Ugh... but at least I'll be home around 8. B-day party to go to today and then Luke's fire dept. appreciation dinner tonight. Free prime rib- woot!

I'm going crazy trying to come up with a middle name. Pretty much every name I like ends with an A and I don't like the repeating A sound with most names.

Busy, busy mornings for you ladies! We were supposed to go hike @ the Trillium Festival today, but my oldest is being crazy. I was pretty close to taking June and going, but I guess it gives me more time to work in the yard. I have to go haul the rest of the bark to make room for the soil that is coming this afternoon... Fun times!

Today I hand-expressed a drop of liquid- woot!! I've been just waiting since getting pregnant to have milk again and I'm so excited. But now I'm picturing myself nursing that tiny baby and it's driving me a little crazy. Can't wait to breastfeed a newborn again!

Just got back from the Fire Dept dinner- I'm STUFFED. 16 oz prime rib, twice baked potato, salad, soup, bread, dessert... ugh. It was amazing, though!

My 18 mo still nurses to sleep... My milk dried up about 2 weeks ago....today my left boob (lower producer and first to dry up) was swollen and sore from engorgement....sure enough Luke nursed over there at bedtime and I've got relief---guess my milk is coming in too!!!

cool on the milk coming back ladies!!! must be so exciting for those still nursing or planning on tandeming. I've never gotten even a drop of milk before baby is born.

Update on the u/s news - I'm just a nervous wreck when it comes to the health of my kids, so I feel a little embarrassed that I went all crazy yesterday with worry. BUT - I called my midwife today (i think she was at a birth yesterday afternoon/evening) she sounded tired, but she reassured me that if something had been wrong they would have called her WHILE I was still in my appointment, she said they ALWAYS call her first and then go and discuss it, so she said I shouldn't worry a bit. She'll get my records in about 4-5 days and she said she would double check for me.

I feel so much better and am so excited! BUT, I'll be honest, I really wish I knew what we were having :banghead:. Although I wasn't feeling very well today, almost felt like I was having contractions :( - I drank water, laid down and still felt lousy then I slowly began to feel better and fell asleep eventually, when I woke up I felt so much better and I feel a little crampy in my right side back area but other than that I feel great. I really hope I dont have to experience any preterm labor :sadno:.

No big plans for the night, but I might go to bed early again like I did last night, I woke up feeling so refreshed, I guess it's been a while since I really got a GREAT nights sleep.

Hmmm, this makes me wonder. Caleb weaned himself about 3 weeks or so ago maybe a little longer, I don't remember. The past week/week and a half I've felt more 'full' than I have in quite a while... I figured my body was gearing up for the baby. I think at this point though, he's done although he's young enough that if he wants to nurse after the baby comes, I'll probably let him. I had a great night at a friends house. I'm full and the heartburn let me know that I ate just a bit too much...:giggle2: It's all good though... thank heaven for TUMS...:giggle2:

I found some of the cutest xs fitteds on FSOT, but I think I may have missed out on them :banghead: I just wish people who put up fsot listings would put communication on their priority list. :banghead: (I'm not referring to this particular seller). Oh well, I guess they don't really want what little pp I have anyway...

ok, time for bed. We'll see if DS sleeps all night. He's already stirred/fussed a couple times. It's been a long day and tomorrow isn't going to be normal either, poor guy. ok, night all!

had our u/s today - everything looked okay, I think...

I'll see if I can scan in our babes profile soon.

sorry about the silent tech. I remember the first ultrasound we had with Sydney, my ob told me that the techs hardly ever really comment on the baby, other than "I'm measuring this or that now" because they are not supposed to make "diagnostic" type statements or something like that. "don't be surprised or worried if they are really quiet, they are not being rude." so, yup, kinda quiet in the ultrasound room.

It is rather nerve-wrecking. I got a little nervous with this last ultrasound too, also because the tech was kinda quiet...nice, but quiet.

ADDED: glad you were able to call and hear some comforting words

I shoveled up bark, weeded a bunch in the garden and planted! I planted asparagus, broccoli, cauliflower, spinach, lettuce, cilantro and some beans. :lostit: I don't think I was supposed to plant everything now, but I will have some indoor seeds going too. Hubby told me I shouldn't be hauling the bark and soil anymore so he filled up all the raised beds for me. I think seeing his little boy made it more real for him! :goodvibes:

Yesterday I was exhausted by 6. My ankle was all swollen and a vein was throbbing and looking all crazy. I've never had any vein issues but it looks nuts! Dr said it was completely normal, but it still freaks me out.

Just a quick flyby post this afternoon. We were really busy yesterday and I ended up on the couch with a pinched sciatic nerve. So I didn't go to work today. I'm sure I'll be in trouble but I don't care. No way I was going to be able to stand for several hours today. DH is doing some office type work today, Luke's a cranky butt---stuck him in front of the t.v., I'm going to try to lay down for a few.

We went to church today, but I had to leave about 10 minutes after the service started because Luke was ready to nap. :(

Then we had "Pint with the Pastor" at California Pizza Kitchen & then we went to Lowe's and DQ.

Hello, my name is Tired.

Friday night we went up north to my in-laws house...they are out of town for a while, but there was a craft show in the area that hubby's cousin was in, so we all decided to go for the night/day instead of just me driving up. It was fun....got to watch a whole bunch of cable friday night :lostit:, LOL. But, Sat. morning, Elijah woke up in a panic at 5:20am...bleh. And he was just upset for the next 4 hours. kid, if you are tired, you need to sleep! oh well. Went to the craft show, bought a few things and just enjoyed being kid free. Hubby and the kids went to a McD's play land for a while. Really wished we could have found out the gender, but it was probably safer for the finances to have not found out. :giggle2:

Stopped in Green Bay for lunch, then came home and did a few things outside while the kids played. It was rather nice out...a whopping 45 degrees. :giggle: We planned out where we want our garden (the first at our house) and went to Menards to dream about house projects and check out some local specials. They were having agrand re-opening at the store so the kids each got a balloon, a huge coloring book, and little american flag. They thought it was great.

Still, by bed time I was exhausted. Poor wayne, I think I was nearly having a panic attack last night, I just suddenly got so tired but also had forgotten to eat supper...which is really weird for me. I was just feeling really freaked out over nothing and wanted to sleep forever. but elijah had other plans. 6am today.

really looking forward to bedtime today...will actually go to bed right after the kids tonight I think...no staying up late tonight.

Steph, why arent you excited about your appt???? We're all excited for you and waiting to know what your having!

A-If its a boy-I know everyone is going to be mad at me for being upset. But I feel like I have a right to be upset. I WANT a daughter. I know I can adopt (someday) but it will not be the same. Another pregnancy is just not practical. I cannot be this sick & tired for 3/4 of a year again ON PURPOSE. That would just be stupid. So, it will really be the end of a dream of having my little girl.

B-I have this dread lately that something will be wrong, DS is my biggest "fear" not that DS would be THAT bad, just not perfect, ya know. I actually fear that I WILL get my little girl, but that she'll have DS and that would take some of the joy out of it.

C-If the baby is breech head-up at this point or if there are any issues with my placenta it will probably crush the tiny 10% chance I have of a VBAC.

All in all, ignorance is bliss and I'm afraid of "knowing" things I don't want to....

AFM:
DH let me take a 2 1/2 hour long nap while he watched & played with Luke. He hasn't gotten to PLAY with Luke in so long because of this damn kitchen remodel. My head is still congested & I don't feel 100% BUT, I do feel a tiny bit better.

I've been craving Cheeseburger in Paradise's crab dip for WEEKS now & we haven't gone because there are only 2 CIPs near here & they are both 30+ minutes away. We had the chance today but went to the church thing instead & we forgot to get it to-go on our ride home. Now its all I can think about now that I am hungry for dinner. :-/

Maybe we'll go do my mystery shop tonight & go to CIP tomorrow.

ETA: I ALWAYS go to bed as soon as Luke does, for like the last 3 weeks now...if I don't I'd NEVER be able to get up the next day!

The beach was okay, but I am glad to be home and able to sleep in my own bed tonight, hopefully the kids will go to bed easy and I'll get some good rest before E wakes up.

Steph, I hope you feel better about your u/s tomorrow. And if it is a boy, don't feel you can't be upset about it. I hate how people have to shove it down your throat that "the baby is healthy and that's all that matters, RIGHT?!". Of course the baby being healthy is important, but you still have the right to be upset, especially in your case with it being your last. I'm still upset occasionally that I'm not having a boy, but I'm holding on to the fact that the next could be.

And don't worry about the baby being breech. Pretty much all babies are head up (or sideways) at this point. They're not supposed to flip for a few months yet so don't let the doctors try to tell you that it's a problem.

AFM: Not feeling the best. Hearburn is back with a vengence- I'm having chest pain and throwing up. Ugh. Yesenia's kicking SOO low today that it's sort of painful and I'm having lots of BH. I wish DH would get home so we could relax and watch a show before bed, but unless he gets home in the next 1/2 hour that's not going to happen. Sunday evenings are usually our chill-out time, and him not being here bothers me. He's working, though, so I can't complain too much because at least we'll have some extra money.

I ordered some more maternity clothes today. Just a pair of pants and two shirts but hopefully I'll feel like I have a little more that fits. I'm gaining weight like crazy now and I feel horrible about myself.

steph - :hugs:, you know we won't judge you on your reaction to baby's gender, I pray that your lo is healthy!

Crystal - I feel like I am really packing on the pounds lately too, not feeling too hot myself, I REALLY wanted this time to be different. I think I've gained about 16-18lbs already :(. I ordered some new maternity clothes this week too, I've never really been pregnant when it's warm out (April baby and June baby in New England where it takes FOREVER for the temps to rise), so I don't feel too bad about it.

AFM - I've been so tired recently, we had a relaxing weekend but I still feel like I could go to bed right now :giggle:. I'm still bummed that I don't know what our lo is, we have their u/s pic on the fridge and I can't help but feel giddy when I look at it, but I just wish I could be thinking "Oh my sweet little Henry/Mary, I can't wait to meet you!" I am feeling the little bugger kicking around a lot . horray....a little lame but I found out there is a quilter's guild here in manitowoc! I've never actually been to one, but I think I may check out their next meeting. I'm curious to see what other people are doing out there. I'm a little nervous it will be a bunch of old ladies though...it meets at the senior center, lol :giggle2:.

Still, I'm getting super pumped about finishing Sydney's wall-e quilt, which has lead me to looking for hours and hours online at other quilter's work and tutorials on how to finish off a quilt. I bought a special "walking foot" for machine to help when I do the final "quilting." (ok, this can be confusing, but the techinque you use to finish a quilt is called "quilting." "Quilting" is the sewing of all three layers (top, batting in the middle, and back) together. Sometimes they use really fancy sewing machines or stitches to finish/quilt the quilt. I will be using a simple straight stitch...cuz I know I don't have the patience to keep a fancy or even simple design looking the same over the whole quilt. I just know, that as I went along, the pattern would get bigger and bigger and would look aweful. I'm usually a immediate results type person with my crafts, so the fact that I have worked so hard and with such detail on the Wall-e quilt is rather amazing.)

check out this lady's flicker album (http://www.flickr.com/photos/freemotionquilting/5134775224/in/set-72157625110573627/)...she shows different "quilting" techniques.

pregnancy wise...doing pretty good, but cannot believe I am still gagging and dry heaving in the morning so much. Not painful or too debilitating, but really annoying. gotta wait another week and a half at a shot at finding out who is in here... *poke, poke, hey you, wake up next time!* :giggle2:
