Hi I am going to be speaking to a mom's of multiples group, and I don't have any experience CD'ing a preemie. What diapers worked for you? did anyone try the Happy Heiny micro mini's AIO? They look perfect for $10 a pop. Thanks!

I had a 36 weeker, and preemie prefolds worked best for us, because other diapers had too big of leg holes for him. XS thirsties covers were pretty good, but even they were slightly big on him for the first few weeks. I made my own dipes and covers mostly, so I was able to make them for his little body. But yes, I'd suggest preemie prefolds :)

Id also suggest prefolds and covers - we did those when the boys were home from NICU (at around 5 lbs) until they were about 9 or 10 lbs and then went with the OS. The benefit to this was that they are a relatively inexpensive investment compared to other CD's (for us it made sense since we knew we would be using OS).
I think the idea of preemie AIO is a good one - but for us our NICU wouldn't have let us use cloth (and I'll be honest with everything else going on I couldn't have committed to a routine) once we got home and through the sposies people had given us as gifts we were in newborn sizes anyway.

I didn't put my kids in cloth until they were home (our NICU doesn't allow it) and I just used preemie prefolds, and nb bamboo bg fitteds.

We did preemie prefolds and SuperBrites (they were a little smaller than thirsties xs). They outgrow the preemie size so fast, I just couldn't see building a stash of AIOs for that stage. I still use my preemie PFs as doublers, and they were super cheap- definitely worth getting!

Our preemies came home from the hospital at around 6 lbs. By then I was using Bum Genius xs and gDiaper gpants size small with preemie size prefolds (Bummis brand I think) as inserts. The NICU didn't allow use of cloth.
Are you expecting twins? How far along are you?

i have a few of the HH preemies and they are tiny. nanas bottoms preemie AIOs and my(mothergoose designs) fitteds are what i used on my preemie(4lbs when he came home at 2 days) and both fit/worked great. the HH seem less absorbent(are a lot thinner) but about the same size(rise wise). the NB fit ds until4 months(8lbs) and my fitteds fit until 6 months(10lbs). PFs are also good(and ds wore pinned on 8" wipes for a few weeks:giggle:) but dh will only do velcro until the kids are 7lbs:headscratch:

Tinkle Traps, will convert preemie prefolds or infant prefolds into prefitted wit OBV lined and snaps, my friend loved mine for her twins, only thing that fit with no pinning and not major bulk. So cute and easy to snap on.

Preemie nanas bottoms, xs bum genius, npreemie prowraps, soft bums mini pods and shell, wonder works xs, preemie refolds and newborn superb rite or fleece, cuddle buns fitteds, kushies preemies were awesome too. Hh mini and Bb mini were great. As were xs fuzzibuns. My lo still doesn't fit in a os diaper and she's 9.5 months
