I lifted something large and awkward earlier today. I didn't have any problem lifting it, but ever since then I have had a repeated somewhat sharp pain on the lower left side of my abdomen.

It isn't constant, isn't a contraction (my whole belly isn't tightening), but happens maybe 2-4 times a minute. It feels somewhat sharp, but more like a sharp pulse. It is uncomfortable, but not so much i'm unable to move, though I do pause what i'm doing while it happens, but it only lasts for a couple seconds usually and then is gone. Any ideas? Should I be concerned?

ETA - It doesn't feel like what I usually think of as round ligament pain either, though I suppose it could be that?

Could you maybe have pulled a muscle? I don't know if it's possible but maybe strained the uterine muscle?

I talked to my doc since this has been going on multiple times per minute for over 3 hrs. She thi ks I strained a ligament and it is spasming from the weight of my stomach when I'm upright. So, I'm to take it easy today, lay down and try the bath or pool as well to get weight off of it.

I had something very similar to this on the right side for several months before becoming pregnant. I saw specialists, went to an OB (mine was on maternity leave) and ended up having an unneccesary gall bladder and appendix removal. Surgery didn't help, and I saw my OB once she returned. Turns out it was trauma to a ligament that helps support the abdomen, uterus etc.
I was especially miffed that surgeries I had because of it were a) unneccessary and b) caused bile and acid reflux, as well as a hiatal hernia.

Sounds like your OB is on top of it. Take it easy!

That round ligament is really brutal, esp if you pull it. I did something to mine while we were at Six Flags and it was tough to walk for a little bit. I had to go super slow. LOL All your ligaments are wacky right to allow for stretching in your belly. I hope you're feeling much better. Mine comes and goes but it's usually one side more than the other.
