I need advice ladies. I ran the Malden Mills coop and it ended a month ago now. All fabric has been sent out, all involved parties have received the goods (minus one person but her package is being sent to a USPS recovery center or some junk, we're working on finding it!) Anyway, this person emails me today saying I stiffed her on 8 yards of fabric, yes a full 8 yards!!! This person used to be a member of DS, but is now banned (for I assume being untruthful by the looks of her feedback.) Anyway, I'm not sure what to do. I KNOW I sent her all her fabric because it was a HUGE box and I took it to Fedex specially for her because she paid over a week later than everyone else!
I wouldn't post such a post here if I trusted her, but I really don't. Her package was delivered to her on May 20 and she is JUST NOW getting in contact with me regarding a missing 8 yards of fabric. (Sorry, but that is such a huge amount that it would have taken a blind mouse to forget that much of an order.)
What do I do? I wrote her back to say I had a hard time believing I missed such a huge amount of fabric and asked her why it took her nearly 3 weeks to contact me regarding this issue if it was such a huge mistake...
HELP!

If you know you sent the correct amount then I would politely tell her that you are sorry, but you are certain you sent the correct amount, and that besides, you didn't have any fabric that was leftover, so you must have sent her the correct yardage. Thats a really tough situation, and I am sorry that you are having to deal with it. Perhaps, you can find the receipt, it should say the weight of the package you sent to her, weigh a yard of that fleece and see if you shipped the correct amount, if that makes sense? Then you can basically go to her with that info and say, this is what a yard of that particular fleece weighs, and your packaged weighed.....
HTH
Good luck!

The weight discrepency would be around 3-4 lb. What I sent was 11.9 lbs. What I weighed just now was 12 lbs on my home scale. If the fabric was not in there what I sent her should have been around 8-9 lbs not 11.9...

You did a great job on that coop so we all know you wouldn't stiff someone 8 YARDS!!! Does sound fishy to me....

If this person is banned, they are obviously not a very honest person to begin with. I would do what everyone else said, tell her that you know you sent the correct amount, and leave it at that. Do not refund a dime! If she's banned, she can't leave you neg feedback anyway!

Send her your math and tell her that all of the yardage she ordered was there.

Well, I sent her the math, she decided I was wrong anyway and opened a dispute with Paypal... She told PP that she did not have internet access until she contacted me, but she was on HERE at DS on 6-3, 6-4, and 6-5. I gave paypal the links to that and also the link to her feedback here showing how she has scammed people from here too.
She told me there was no way 16 yards of fabric could only weigh 12 lbs, but I sent 18 yards of fabric to the lady at fuzzi fannies and it was only 13 lbs!!! I am just sick over this. She filed a claim for the entire amount she paid for everything and wants a full refund... Um, hello how does that not scream SCAM...
Why are there people like this?????

It doesnt matter if she filed with PP - she wont win because she did receive a package. You have PLENTY of proof to prove your side of it all.
She is a dishonest person to begin with. That is why she is now allowed here anymore. She's probably just mad about being banned, and it taking it out on whoever she can. I'm so sorry that person is you.
:hugs:

that sucks, im sorry she's trying to dfo that to you, 8 yards is a Bit much to try and claim was missing, and 3 weeks ago..um..o-k
sounds liek a scam to me, or maybe she doesnt know how to measure fabric or something, just keep your receipts form the package you sent, send pp proof of weight, you shouldnt be liable for her lies.

Well, she just changed her story. I asked for a picture (she claimed it was all in the box as it came and she never even took it out, um ok) but now she says she's missing something else. I did 4 fabrics, she first claimed she was missing fabric "C" and "D", when I asked for a picture she's suddenly missing "B" and "D", but has "C". (Fabric "B" weighs more than "C" so her package would had been even lighter than I previously told her...)
I know I shouldn't worry, but I'm a worrier.
Thanks for the advice ladies!!

Good for you for standing your ground! If she is changing her story then you know she is just a big fat LIAR!
Who waits 3 weeks to take ANYTHING out of a box. I know if I get a package no matter what I rip into it and if it was for that much fabric I would DEFINITLEY check everything out right away. DUH!

I can't believe that after all the trouble you took for running the coop that she would do this to you:yuck: It really irks me since I know you are an honest mama cuz I contacted you immediately about the error in my order and you made it right lickety split! Why is it always the dishonest mamas that take advantage of the really good ones:banghead:

Because of what my dh does he has learned how to tell liars from honest ppl (not that having this job is the only way we could tell liars from honest ppl but he's sees all kinds of liars and all different methods of lying so he has LOTS of experience lol).
If a person is lying the way you can tell they're a liar is that they constantly change their story........ie: their story is NEVER the same. It changes every time they tell it so they can make it look better or seem more believable.
She has changed her story already. She only changed it because she found out that saying that fabric B and D were missing would be perfect for the weight issue. You told her that her box weighed this and that you had other boxes that weighed x amount for x amount of fabric. She then sat around thinking about the fabrics and said "oh, fabric b and d don't weigh that much so if I say those are missing then her story would be wrong about the weight and I am right".
WHATEVER!!!! We all know who is right!

Well, PP already saw in my favor... In any case Thursday I asked her for a picture of the fabric in the box as packed, she never sent it. Go figure... She just wanted something for free.
