I just need to vent. I feel awful! I don't remember morning sickness being this bad with my first two kiddos. As long as I kept my stomach full I could push through the day back then. This time around, I'm having trouble keeping food down, absolutely everything makes me gag: smells, foods, brushing my teeth, etc, and I feel on the verge of vomiting constantly with no relief. If my stomach gets empty, I throw up, but if I keep eating, I don't feel any better. It seems to help slightly if I only eat very mild foods and for some reason a cup of coffee or coca cola seems to temporarily help, but I can't be drinking coffee all day long. My OB gave me a prescription for Zofran, but it does absolutely nothing to help. (Which is strange, because I've taken Zofran before on other occasions when I wasn't pregnant, and it helped tremendously.) My poor kids are so bored and I'm doing my best to keep them entertained (2 years old and 11 months) but it's tough. I haven't cleaned the house in weeks, poor DH does his best to straighten up and do essential cleaning when he gets home (he is Super Hubby!) I'm not being lazy, it's just impossible to do anything without puking. I know it will go away eventually but ahhhhhhhh!

I'm feeling the same way this time around. Well, actually I have had a few good days the past week - I'm hoping that placenta is starting to do its thing in there!
I did feel this terrible with my first pregnancy. But it wasn't the same. It was just me and the dog at home, DH was there, but in school from 8am-10pm so it wasn't like he was home watching me be lazy and sick. But I sure felt it.
This time it does matter and I can't imagine taking the risk of doing this to my family again. :( It's just not fair to them that I can't take care of them or the house like I always do.

Yeah Me too! I am soooo sick but I have been with my last two successful pregnancies as well. I try to do what I can but the majority of the day I spend laying on the couch. I feel so terrible! I hate doing this to my family. I also hate feeling this way. I throw up several times a day and feel like I am going to throw up the rest of the time. I have a hard time keeping anything down even water. Some days are better but not great. I lost 6lbs this past week and this week isn't shaping up any better so far. I'm with you all to, Zophran doesn't seem to do a lot. I've taken it for past pregnancies but its just not that good for me. I don't take it all that often because I feel with the minimal relief its probably just better for the baby if I dont take it.
How long does it usually last for you all? I know I have a pretty good while left. I'm only almost 8 weeks now and it usually lasts at least till 16ish week if not till 20 :( Good Luck to you all! Let me know if you find something that helps!

tiredness kicks my behind- but i blame that on also only getting 4-5 hours in the am to sleep, then back to work at nite shift. I absolutely hear you when you say you feel horrible for not getting the house work done and kids entertained all day. it sucks! I want it to go away so badly- I need to get a different shift for sure.

I had zofran last pregnancy cause I lost 25 lbs from weeks 5-11. It did work for me.
This pregnancy is an absolute breeze in comparison. Morning sickness didn't start at all until 8 weeks. It's worse at nights after dinner and very first thing in the morning if I haven't eaten quickly enough. I started taking 1/2 unisom at night. In the morning I just suffer through. Unisom makes me sleepy even with 1/2 tab so I drag all day if I take it in the morning.
Some women swear by 1/2 unisom tab & B6 vitamin anything citrusy is suppose to help as well. There is another anti-nausea medicine as well, I can't remember what it's called. With DS I know MS was mostly because I couldn't stay hydrated because I was puking too much.

I'm with you; I feel blah.. dry heaving, gagging over nothing all. day. long. I took diclectin with DD, from about 12 weeks until the day she was born, and I was still puking when we left the hospital, it was awful. My doc asked if I wanted something this time around, but I want to wait it out again and see if it goes away on its own. What does help is cola, but like you said I can't be drinking pop all day long, clementines, orange juice and soda crackers. The crackers I just nibble on when I feel like I'm at the point of no return and it settles my stomach a little bit. I also feel worse when I don't eat, but who wants to eat when you feel like this LOL. I try and do blitzes on the house, I'll feel good so I'll go like crazy and vacuum/wash floors and clean the kitchen, then I'll sit down again. Here's to pregnancy hormones doing their job!

I am feeling miserable as well, today is the worst I actually feel like I'm coming down with something. I haven't puked but I've felt like it more than once and nothing sounds good anymore! I do better when I eat enough but its been hard to eat lately. I guess my own advice was hard to do. Praying we all start to feel better in the next several weeks.

:hugs: That's how things were with my first pregnancy, it's TERRIBLE. At least then I didn't have any other kiddo to take care of, I can't imagine!
I'm definitely feeling it, but my M/S isn't nearly as bad as it was with DS. At least not yet!

The morning sickness just kicked in for me yesterday, and boy did it do it with a vengeance! I got sent home from work today cause everyone thought I was going to infect them with a super flu LOL.
I just want to know who it was that decided to call it "morning" sickness???? I think we need a better term for this crap!

For real! Mine gets worse and worse as the day progresses and is unbearable by bed time.
I just turned 11 weeks and it's not gone yet. Today was one of the worst days ever. I'm officially designating this pregnancy as winner of my worst morning sickness ever. If I hadn't already seen the baby I would've thought there's twins in there (I'm also huge but it's probably just bloat.) Blaaaaaah. :banghead: (Vent over.)

okay so I maybe shouldnt say this but Ive had two good days- no throwing up at work on night shift. The tiredness is not horrible as it has been. But I know I dont eat enough, so when my stomach growls out of hunger it makes me feel sick. kids are really good about getting mama a glass of water when I ask them to, as I feel almost paralyzed by the pains and ickiness it gives me, theyre such sweeties.

Oh you are definitely not the only one! :) I feel bad too, because I sit on the couch practically all day lol. And I'm soooo sick at this point of just sitting around all day (I can't imagine how it must feel to be on bed rest as pregnancies sometimes end up.) But if I get up too quickly or move around too quickly, I throw up. And if I go somewhere in the car, I throw up. This is the craziest morning sickness I've ever had, and I'm hoping it goes away soon.
Here's hoping we all feel better soon!

Rikky - I was thinking the other night, while I was sick the whole night, how in the world I'd manage if I was puking like that all the time through the days. Yikes. I think there's no way I could do it, not with the older kids to care for.
Wowzers, pricey stuff! Hope it does the trick for you, but yikes on the cost. I knew it was pricey, but hadn't really heard how much. A friend of mine was on it for her first trimester - with no health insurance :(

How are you feeling ladies? I've had some good days where I've been able to get things done without unbearable nausea and vomiting, so it seems to be improving. I've been drinking lemon water and it helps (very temporarily) with the nausea, and as long as I keep my stomach full I don't throw up during the day. At night it gets worse but around the time it gets really bad, I'm heading to bed so I just try to sleep through it. About halfway through the night the extreme nausea always subsides and I start over again during the day.
So...I'm basically thankful for an improvement, and maybe I'll be able to enjoy Thanksgiving dinner!!!
ETA: I'm 12 weeks along

I would probably throw up more often, except that I fight it tooth and nail! I hate throwing up more than anything about being sick. I try so hard not to, and this is the first baby that, as hard as I try, I frequently end up throwing up anyway. Can't wait to be out of this phase!!

Mine is tapering off. I'm 12 weeks. I was vomiting every day and nauseous with no relief every single day from 6 weeks until now. These past few days I've been able to do chores around the house and go a little longer in between eating without feeling like I constantly need to keep my stomach full. I feel the worst at night, and with little nauseous episodes throughout the day, but there are times in the day now when I feel pretty good.
With my first LO, the morning sickness didn't start tapering off until around 14 weeks and was totally gone at 16 weeks.

Lucky me, MS didn't start until about 10 weeks, it digressed quickly from there. I'm in my 14th week, and spent the entire morning hugging the toilet yesterday. I HAVE TO take unisom in the morning or I can't eat the entire day.
I almost think my dating is off by a week or 2, honestly. Morning sickness would make much more sense if that's what's going on.
I mean, I know the day I got a positive O test, but I still think I'm off...
