Today I went in to a private place for an ultrasound. They normally do 3/4d ultrasounds but I got the normal 2D since I am only 11w1d.I have a little while until my next one at the doc's and it's been a while since my last one so I was really eager to see. I thought it would be a fun way to tell the kids, too. It was a lot more private, personal, plus they recorded the heart beat and put them into stuffed animals for them which they loved - all for less than $100! We are all SUPER excited since, as many of you know, I have a history of m/c with no births.
The baby was laying on his/her side facing out so we got to see the face, belly, arms, and legs perfectly rather than just a side shot. The little peanut was wiggling around non-stop, then finally towards the end of the 30 min session went to sleep and the ultrasound tech pressed down on my belly which interrupted him/her resting and it was back to being a wiggle worm.
Anyhow, it was really neat to have 30 minutes of non-stop watching the baby while the kiddos ooh'd and ahh'd. The oldest one is 6 and as soon as the screen popped up with a baby she leaned over to her brother and whispered loudly "WE ARE HAVING A BABY!!" :giggle:
They are can't stop talking about the new baby. :mrgreen: We stopped at the LYS and picked out some Malabrigo to knit some newborn longies to celebrate. :wub:
