Stefanie - I definitely think looking in to that headache is a good idea. :crossfingers: it's nothing but a "normal" bad headache. KUP.
AFM: Stayed home from church/town today so Ruthie could go to her gymnastics xmas party. :)

Here is a summary run down of what happened to me for those who were asking. It has not been a good week and on top of all this my dh just lost his job. Its stress city here :(
To make a very long story short, I was having a bit of pain last sunday and all day monday, it was progressively getting worse but I had an ob appt first thing tues morning. Because of some uterine fibroids I was told to expect pain and that if it got too bad my dr. would prescribe something stronger for me so I wasn't too worried about it. By tues morning I was in agony, throwing up and couldn't move the pain was so bad. I arrived at my ob appt where they tried to asses the situation but it was beyong anything they could handle. I was sent by ambulance to Kaiser Morse hospital emergency room. I was given heavy duty pain meds and they were able to do an u/s and determine that I was bleeding internally into my abdomen but they were not sure where it was coming from. I was knocked out for an emergency exploratory laproscopy to figure out what was wrong. Apparently my laproscopy turned into a full out surgery because I awoke with an 8 inch incision vertically down my abdomen. Very thankfully my fibroid had detached from my uterus and therefore saved invloving the baby in any way. It had re-attached to my intestinal lining which as a massive blood supply, engorged on blood, twisted on itself and then ruptured and bled out internally causing a massive blood clot in my stomach. I had to me completly cut open because between the fibroid and blood clot together it was about 20cm and 10lbs and thats the only way they could remove it. Needless to say I'm alot smaller! I lost about half my blood supply and in order to provide for both baby and myself I needed a blood transfusion. I'm on the road to recovery but it will be long and slow.

I keep thinking about those itty diapers and clothes - but keep forcing it to the back of my mind. There's plenty of time to get things out, washed, and ready, and I'll be glad for having something to do for nesting when we hit May! Just gotta hold off until then. Although, I plan to :drif: over the nb mutts I'm waiting on for a bit before putting them away :giggle:
I can tell the days I don't drink enough water - today being one. I get a bit of m/s still in the late afternoon/evening when I don't drink a bunch through the day. Some days I want water and it's easy, some days I just don't and it tastes so :yuck:

I am prone to migraines. They can have a hormonal trigger. If I catch mine early, a wee fistful of extra strength Tylenol, a cool dark room, and a long nap usually take care of it, but from the sounds of it my migraines are not as debilitating or severe as yours.

I get migraines as well, not near as debilitating.
When my son started getting migraines at six years old, the neurologist provided me with a list of possible triggers, but I did a ton of research anyway. Two things I found have helped. We added onions to our diet, just started cooking with them a couple times a week. And regular doses of Gatorade. I recall something like 12-20 oz a day was the suggestion. I started back with the gatorade when I started feeling them come on again with this pregnancy, and have been able to(knock on wood) prevent a full blown migraine. Good luck!!

I'm glad to hear you are healing well, and baby is still doing great!!
My sister used benadryl to dry up the ear stuff, but don't think that is an option, on the other hand, that only helped for a day or two. Then she switched to sudafed, which we can take(according to my midwife anyway), and it took a full day or so to really clear up her ears, but she is doing better.
Not much help, sorry.

Plus side is there was no mess because my fancy toilet paper soaked it all up :giggle:

AFM: I have been in the ER then today at my doc's for most the freakin' day. I was in a terrible car accident not too long ago and while I went to physical therapy I've always had some minor back pains. Wellllll, I did an out of state drive for the holidays and holy crap I had terrible pain but it went away, then it came back - full force to where it spread down to my knees and it hurts to even walk or sit down. I was given two injections which I normally would have declined being pregnant but it's 'safe' for the baby and seeing as how I couldn't even WALK I had to do something. My doc referred me to a chiro so we shall see. I am still in excruciating pain, I am embarrassed to say I started crying from pain at the hospital.
Today my doc checked on the baby and he/she was happily bouncing around and had a strong heart beat!

:hugs: I hate migraines. I am prone to them, get a good one every 4-6wks. But for some reason I hardly get any while pregnant, like maybe a couple the whole pregnancy.
The only thing that helps me is Advil liquigels - which isn't an option for pregnancy. :( Do you have insurance or anything that could help cover/offset the cost of the meds?

We added onions to our diet, just started cooking with them a couple times a week. And regular doses of Gatorade. I recall something like 12-20 oz a day was the suggestion.
The gatorade solution sounds like those ones were brought on by dehydration. I've never heard of onions helping!!! Was there any explanation why they would, or just "here, try this"? We eat a lot of onions in our house, maybe that helps with my lessening migraines.

The gatorade has something to do with keeping electrolytes balanced out. That tip has helped lots of people we have known, some it doesn't help.
So here is the explanation, the best I can recall, on the onions....
Onions are a natural blood thinner. When you have a migraine, it is caused by the restriction of the veins in your brain, making it harder for the blood to flow through. So, by thinning the blood, its able to flow through the veins easier. I discussed this with the neurologist and he said it sounded like a good idea, and was worth a shot. It worked for us. Helped both of us.
My son still gets migraines from time to time, dehydration will bring one on in a heartbeat, so we do our best to avoid that. Stress, I know, he is 12, what's he got to stress over, but it could be anything from looking forward to a party, to being nervous about a test. Also, he gets them from caffeine, including chocolate, poor guy.

Hi guys!
nothing really new over here, that's why I haven't been chatting much! Been feeling good, eating a ton, and starting to settle down to really enjoy the next 24 weeks :)
I told my neighbors I was pregnant when we were chatting one morning as I was putting DD into the car. They were kind of far away and the husband said "When are you due?" but I heard "what do you do?" and I asked "what?" and heard the same thing again. I was confused because I thought he knew I was a SAHM seeing as I'm always around and always wearing mom type clothes lol. I said "I stay home with the baby" and he said "no...when are you DUE? like when is the baby coming?" I was so embarrassed but I remember doing the same thing all the time with my first pregnancy...I must be hard of hearing or something!
Sorry to all the mamas who had rough couple of days! You guys are so strong I think if I couldn't walk or if my car was stranded I would just have an emotional breakdown.
Hope everyone's starting to get in the CHristmas spirit! I have to wrap everything still and cook some stuff for gifts. I hate wrapping!! I get so Scrooge-y when its time to wrap.
