What stage did your Braxton Hicks contractions start with subsequent pregnancies?
I'm 16 weeks with my third successful pregnancy and have been having a lot of contractions (that haven't been painful or with any kind of pattern). It just seems early for BH so I'm looking for other's experiences.

During my third, I had some at 20 weeks. I realized I wasn't taking in enough fluids and started drinking ALOT more water and they stopped. But the REAL BH's started at 32 weeks; to the point of regular intervals for hours. There were 3 times I was ready to go to the hospital and I remember saying, "I'll go if they haven't stopped by 6am" and what do you know, they stopped at 5:45am. They'd usually happen at night when I was more relaxed. My midwife said I was doing WAY too much and that's why they were so frequent and intense.
Good luck Mama!

I had the same problem. I'm so sorry your dealing with them. I have an irritable uterus, maybe you do?

If you don't mind, may I ask if you are nursing? I'm early on in my pregnancy, an still nursing, and sometimes I think I feel slight contractions. I read that nursing can cause contractions so I was just wondering if anyone else experiences this.

Yeah when I had my twins (my first) I started having them before 16wks but didn't know what they were. Every pregnancy after I've had them earlier. Even in my 1st trimester.

Nope, not any more. My DD weaned around her second birthday. I have heard that though.
Thanks to everyone so far for your input. Puts my mind at ease. I had PTL with my DD starting at 28 weeks, so sometimes my mind gets wrapped up in the possibilities of that happening again.

BH started really early this time, earlier than 20 weeks but I can't remember the exact time. I was carrying twins so I was really worried about them. Ended up carrying them 37+ weeks and was induced.

I'm 28 weeks with my 4th baby and I haven't noticed them yet. I don't usually start till well into the 30's. But I was late with the first two and the third came right on his due date.

I didn't have any braxton hicks with my first, and so far none with this one that I am aware of. I have definitely heard other moms say that it starts earlier for them in subsequent pregnancies, though.

I didn't have any at all with #1 and with #2, I had a few around 15-17wks and then tons after 24 or so weeks. So annoying.

This is my second pregnancy and I had no noticeable Braxton Hicks with DD. This time around they started fairly early on... I don't remember exactly, maybe 20 weeks... Possibly a few weeks earlier or later... They became less frequent/strong for a few weeks and then started back up later on.

It feels like I've had them my entire pregnancy. As long as they're not regular or painful, it's nothing to worry about :)
