(from last weeks' thread)
So today my sister went out of town to go shopping me... I had a gift card to old navy and and needed to find some maternity cotton crew necks I can wear both at home and to work to avoid buying scrubs. Well.... they relocated to a different building and they downsized their entire stock of maternity.... I was really disappointed as that's what I went there for and don't shop maternity online as all things run so much differently, plus shipping.so I again just bought for my kids. They got new jeans, and me still no work shirts grrrr.

Oh that stinks! I have found some good mat stuff at ON, but the one here doesn't have a very big mat section either.

I am so frustrated finding underwear. I cannot do the underbelly kind- just not comfy for me. And you can't find the overbelly kind anywhere anymore, except online and they're really expensive. With my first 4 pregnancies, you could buy a 3 pack for like $10-15. Now it's like $15 or more a pair. I've been making non-maternity stuff work, but now they either fall down, or cut into my belly. Uggh.

All my mat undies are ON under the belly ones. I'm sure I've seen the "grannie panties" ones (:giggle2:) at our Walmart, and for sure through Sears.

AFM - DH got me a bread machine on craigslist!! I am so excited about it! I've made 3 loaves so far - one was perfect (half whole wheat sandwhich loaf), the other two (one of the same and one french loaf) rose too high but were still delicious!! Anyone else have one?

we're all battling colds here but finally on the mend I think! My DD is 15 months but I think I need to buy her a potty. She has been telling me every once in a while that she pooped by touching her diaper and saying "Uck" and when she's diaperless she freezes in her tracks and just kind of panics (whimpers and looks so worried!) right before she pees (on the floor or in a diaper if I catch it in time lol). Today while wearing a diaper all of a sudden she stopped and got worried looking and then said "uck" and I checked and she had peed! So I think she might at least be starting to be aware of the feeling of having to go to the bathroom. Anyone have advice for me? I'm not going to start potty training but I think I'll do more naked time around the house obviously and see if I can catch her when she gets that panic-stricken look on her face! haha It would be nice not to have 2 in diapers for very long, especially since I don't have washer and dryer in my house!

At the OB on Friday she told me I really need to do more Kegels (she said 4 sets of 20 a day). Ugh! but I really do need to. :(

feeling TONS of movement this week and loving every minute of it. I'm really feeling a bond now with this little wiggly baby! I'm starting to picture my life with 2 kids all the time...playing with Clara and having a little squishy making cute newborn sounds on blanket next to us, letting Clara "help" by giving the baby a pacifier or a soft toy, nursing the new baby while Clara plays with her baby dolls...I just can't wait for all of that and more! I was made for this!!

I have a bread maker - have had it since we got married. :) I used to make loaves of bread in it, but haven't in a while. I use it a TON for making dough for buns and cinnamon buns. :yummy: Definitely worth the $$!

Sorry about the  We're all battling colds here as well.
I have honestly no advice on the potty training. We suck at it. All our kids (so far) have been over 3yrs old before even starting, and then it still took the boys nearly a year to be really trained. :yuck: Hate that part.

Did you ask the Dr about the new info about kegels - that they're not actually helping what we're using/doing them for and that we should do squats instead? Just wondering if she knew anything or had anything to say about it, or if she just blew it off.

:yay: for more movement!
I wish I was feeling more. I'm getting so bummed, not feeling much of anything and some days nothing at all. It stinks.

AFM: Oy. Busy weekend. Yesterday was groceries and some errands. Today was church and finishing up the last few errands. I'm going to miss not having everyone home, but at the same time I'm kinda glad school starts again tomorrow - it means just me and Levi, definitely at home, and some quiet!

ive never worn maternity clothes:( i have them they just never end up fitting:banghead: i have a few shirts i wear now but they dont even look like maternity:giggle: im also not even showing so i guess i dont need them yet.
My store is stocking tomorrow and i need to finish some OBV lap tees tonight. DH has to fill out new paperwork for unemployment so we are strapped right now:yuck: darn bills.
Anyone need small swaddlebees pockets/AIOs? i have 9-12 stuffable side snapping AIOs with velour inner(most new all look new) i need to list, but im so not motivated:hide:

I am going to ask my midwife her opinion on the kegels vs. squats thing on Thursday, if I remember! It's a lot easier to do kegels but I've been trying to do a little of both just in case.

Oh shucks, I'm sorry. I don't have any choice but to wear mat - or dresses would work I suppose... but it's a bit too chilly for dresses in the winter here. Not this year, right now, but usually.

Cool. :) I just wonder what care provider's have to say about it, if they've even heard about the "debate".

AFM: :yummy: :drif: OMGoodness. BBQ'ed steak (seriously way warmer than "norm" here!), baked potatoes, and veggies for supper. SO :drif:

I've had pelvic floor issues since baby #4. Doing kegels alone has helped some, but not enough. I found out about a program called hab-it. For pregnancy, she has online some exercises- descriptions and videos. Here's a link.

Morning!

Everyone is still sick, fun times, lol.

This weekend was a boring one, just sat at home. I started having worse bleeding with pains yesterday so I laid on the couch most the day.
Ultrasound and doctors appointment this Friday, so 4 more days :yay: I can't wait!

Hope you're feeling better today.

I started feeling some pressure yesterday. I rested when I could. It kept me up part of the night. It seems better today, but honestly, we haven't done much yet. (laying around watching cartoons and playing cars in my bed- I love that I have a two year old who will occasionally do this)
I need to get going, though. 3 of us have eye dr. appointments this afternoon.
I remember feeling more pressure with #5. So I don't know whether this is just normal. I don't see the dr. til next Wed. If it happens again I'll mention it. If not, I won't worry.

did the cramping go away? hope it was just digestion cramps or just your uterus growing a lot! And sorry about the teeth issues ugh how frustrating! :yuck: the dentist. I dread going now that I'm pregnant because brushing my teeth still makes me gag...but I think I have a cavity. ugh

Lots of cramping and pressure going on this week. Praying its just everyone's babies having growth spurts, or just Braxton Hicks or something. I've been having abdominal cramping a little bit but chalking it up to Braxton Hicks and trying to take it easy and drink a lot of water.

thank you for the link to the pelvic floor exercises I will be checking that out!

AFM - just made dinner (brown rice with peanuts, sesame oil, shredded chicken and cilantro...so yummy). I try to prep or fully make dinner when DD naps because she just wants to cling when I'm trying to cook. How on earth will I ever get anything cooked with 2 kids who probably won't nap at the same time?? yikes!

Anyone watching Downton Abbey on PBS?? such a great show!!! Its on Masterpiece Classics its a drama about a really wealthy family during WWI period and their lives and also the lives of their servants...so you get a picture of both the wealthy and the servant classes and it is just SO good. Ok my description might've sounded boring but the show is just AWESOME. DH and I stayed up to watch the 2 hour season premiere last night.

Today I really need to finish up Christmas thank-you notes! They haunt me until they're all sent out! I also have to find a gift for my cousin's daughter who's turning 3. I need it to be something like $10...maybe a couple books.

Oh geez, I hope you're feeling better. How scary to experience that so early.

I've never had any early cramping or bh with my pg's. At least none that I recall :giggle: so that is so foreign to me. My pg's are usually so uneventful in that regard that by the time I hit 36 wks I start to become convinced that I'll be pg f.o.r.e.v.e.r. Although, after 4 spontaneous onset's of labor and natural deliveries, you'd think I'd learn lol

DH and Peep (my nickname for DD) came in to work to see me for lunch. It was so nice to see them and get some baby snuggles to break up the day. Now I miss them though :(

Are you feeling better through the day today? Certainly could have been the pizza, or maybe just cramping from stretching.
:yuck: good luck with the dentist - I sure hope you don't need anything else done!

I wouldn't worry about it (ie. going for an extra appt or something) unless, of course, it worsens or something else starts happening along with it. But I'd definitely mention it to the Dr at your next appt. If it was later in the pregnancy, the last couple months, I probably wouldn't bother cuz it's very normal then as the baby gets bigger. But just in case, kwim?

I had a couple good BH over the weekend while walking around for shopping and stuff. I know I get them, and good ones, so I'm not worried about it. Just a normal part of things for me.

I need to figure out supper. I'm unmotivated after yummy steak dinner last night - nothing sounds good after that! :giggle:

:hide: Levi was/is a terrible napper. The only way to get a decent nap out of him ever was to lay with him, and especially with the m/s in the first few months I ended up just cuddling with him on the couch for naps - we both napped. Which was fine then... but now he still wants cuddles and I don't nap, but I want him to have decent naps!
Really need to work on getting him napping either in his crib or on our bed - I don't care which - but somewhere not on me at any rate! Just not sure how to accomplish that without messing up naps.

AFM: First day back for DH and the kids. Levi was confused this morning, asked where everyone was a couple times, but overall okay. Kinda wish the kids could go back for a few days and DH stay home :giggle:

Thanks for the prayers. I was hopeful because it was getting to be less and some brown blood was mixed in...and then bam...more bright red thick and heavy. Blah. I feel fine though, and baby is doing okay, so that's all that matters at this point! I still can't believe I'm creeping up on 18 weeks!

dentist again today and im going to have to find a new one:cry: i waited too long to go bc of no insurance and had waaaay too many cavities(i have no enamel bc of meds my mom took while pregnant. cavities are practically unavoidable) so last week i was in pain for a week til i went back today. they said it was a bit issue and "fixed it" had a few more cavities worked on and my mouth is KILLING me. can you OD on tylenol? i dont think i can take anything else. anyways i know she overlooked one very obvious cavity(and the one i went in for) so im going to my old dentist(doesnt take my current insurance) tomorrow for a second opinion and opinion on the pain. i think once the Novocaine wears off i shouldnt really be in pain? certainly not days later:banghead:

What a fun week. Today we had our us and It's a GIRL for us! This is girl number 3..so daddy is building a man-cave.lol. We are very exited...let the name game begin. It was as if I stopped growing at 10 weeks and them bam in the last week I doubled. They also gave me a "official" due date of June 5th at the us today.

AFM: I spoke with billing for the midwife and I think we will go with her as insurance will pay 80%. She does rent out a tub for an extra 100$ so do I do that or find my own somewhere else for less. Cause there's also the cost of the kit. And maybe a Douala but don't know how much that'll cost.

I'm feeling just the opposite of so many of you, I feel like I've really been in a growth spurt the past week or so, and that my uterus has moved up, a lot! If I have the slightest thing to eat I'm full for hours, but I just can't get enough water in so I'm not stooling as often as I should be so I'm just full all the time. Not my favorite feeling about pregnancy.

Had my genetic specialist appt yesterday. So everything they were concerned about looks great! However there might be something going on with her heart and so I am sure we will be going for another scan in a couple weeks. I am ok with it because I know my baby will be fine and her little heart will heal and that I am worried for nothing! As long as I keep calm and believe she is ok then she will be. However I am really good at worrying. I did tell hubby he needs to put thought into a name soon because as we go through this rough road I don't want her to just be baby or a number I want the doctor to have to call her by name as a person not a statistic. It's kind of silly but it is important to me that she is not a number but a person to them! So aside from that everything is good. In 4 weeks I will be in Disney! I can't wait my kids will be so excited!!!

Right now I've hit a plateau on belly growth. Or at least I feel like it. Baby is supposed to be growing a bit in these next wks so maybe I'll pop some more.

GIRLS!! Are you finding out the sex on this on? It's funny because if it was the other way around (all boys)....I think I would be dying for a lil girl. I get where the hubby wants a boy. For daddy, I def think there is nothing like having little adoring girls. There is just something about little girls and there dads:) It was rather funny this time though, because I had some weird remarks from people when I sent out the word. "Things like..how you guys holding up, is B (hubby) okay"? I feel like people miss the point. Yes it would be fun to have a boy, but the fact that you can get pregnant and carry a healthy baby seems to get lost under all the hooplaha!! I'm exited for you either way! What are the ages of your girlies?

sis got my chips and i cant eat them:cry: thats the worst pain:giggle2:

That's just not right. I hope you get some answers fast.
:giggle: I totally can see the chip thing being the worst part!

What a fun week. Today we had our us and It's a GIRL for us!

Congrats!
I updated you, dd and gender, on the dd list :)

Right now I've hit a plateau on belly growth. Or at least I feel like it. Baby is supposed to be growing a bit in these next wks so maybe I'll pop some more.

I felt like I didn't grow much from 12-16wks - definitely some change, definitely rounded out, but not a lot of growth, kwim? But the past couple weeks I really feel like it's gotten bigger :)

I've been using this site (http://pregnant.thebump.com/pregnancy/pregnancy-tools/articles/how-big-is-baby.aspx?MsdVisit=1) when the kids ask me how big the baby is.
According to that, baby should grow a half inch and gain 2oz each week (through the 2nd trimester) - that's really quite a lot of growing and gaining when you're so itty!

 I'd probably just go with her tub, unless you could find one for substantially less $$. But $100 really isn't a big deal, not when you're all ready having to pay something, kwim? And $100 would totally be worth it to labor in the water

Yup, me too. The past couple weeks I've felt stretching, started really noticing BH contractions, and my belly just feels heavier. :) Love it!
Sorry about the constipation. :( Not comfy. Are you taking anything for it, other than trying to get enough water?

:yay: That's good news! whatever they saw with her heart resolves by the next u/s.
I can totally understand wanting to give her a name.

GIRLS!! Are you finding out the sex on this on? It's funny because if it was the other way around (all boys)....I think I would be dying for a lil girl.

I just realized the other day that if Bug is a boy that will be 4 boys :thud: That's a lot of boys!
Maybe I do want a girl after all :giggle:

AFM: Nothing much happening today. But I did eat some chips last night :yummy: :giggle:
Got the bathroom cleaned, folded a load of towels, started another load of laundry to wash. I think I'll do not much else for the day, lol!
It turned cold and really windy last night - makes me feel like hibernating!

I'm sorry. I hope it gets better.

I had a horrible night 2 nights ago, and then pressure most of the day. Although, except for going back to bed after getting the middle kids on the bus (with 2 year old watching cartoons and 12 year old helping), I had a busy day. In the evening, I was really hurting. I went ahead and did my yoga, minus the strength part. (just focused on the stretching) and took Benadryl before bed. I slept much better last night and am feeling much better today.

I've been planning to fly either this month or next to Florida to visit a friend, but feel hesitant to book a flight until after I see my dr. and make sure this really is nothing.

All these girls! How exciting!
I am so excited about my ultrasound next week. I'll be honest that I'm hoping for a girl.
But at the same time, I love my boys! I've always thought my boys are easier than the girls. And I have mostly boy baby stuff now. It'd be a little like starting over if it's a girl. (not as practical, but fun!)
If it is a boy, we'll have 4 boys. If it's a girl, we'll even back out. We have a pattern- boy, girl, boy, girl, boy. It'll be interesting to see if it continues. I'm kind of a skeptic about it, though.

I don't think that's a bad price, if it's the really nice birthing pool. So check on that. There are a couple different sizes. The one my midwife provided was deeper than the fishy pools a lot of people get, and had a nice padded bottom. Oh, and handles.

Then again, I attended a friend's birth who had a fishy pool. It was fine. But I really liked the tall sides of the one I had- nice for leaning against.

Like I said I think its a girls month!! Baby booms of the same months seem to have a lot of the same gender. The last couple months ive seen a lot of boys born only one girl out of like 6 boys. So maybe one out of 6 of us will have a boy this time. I think 4 boys like some of u may be having would be fun!

That does seem to be true - there's usually a lot of one gender, with a few of the other, in a dd group. December had a lot of boys with a few girls. I'm trying to remember back to our old Junebugs... but I'm thinking it was the same.

We find out in 2 weeks what we are having....the days are ticking by so slowly :( We have 1 boy and 2 girls right now so we are really hoping on a boy to even things out! I feel like its a boy and i've even bought boy stuff but i'm not sure if its intuition or just wishful thinking? Starting to feel lots more movement which is really fun- this is my fave part of pg and i've been waiting for it. Feeling pretty good these days too, my incision still hurts- mostly where my pants rub but other than that i'm pretty much healed and feeling good. Trying to plan some summer trips around a baby is kinda hard! I've been filling in my calender but june is more like a due month- its hard to judge when baby will come. That makes it hard to plan trips :)

Sounds like it's irritation from your pants/waistband. Is there any way you could put a light gauze bandage over it when you need to be dressed, kwim? That might help.
We're not planning any big trips this summer, just camping locally, and the kids (and DH) are in school until the end of June anyways, so it's not too hard to plan.

What a fun week. Today we had our us and It's a GIRL for us! This is girl number 3..so daddy is building a man-cave.lol. We are very exited...let the name game begin. My 4 year old told me she thought for sure it was a boy, but really wanted a girl.!! I'm finally beginning to feel and look prego. It was as if I stopped growing at 10 weeks and them bam in the last week I doubled. They also gave me a "official" due date of June 5th at the us today.

Due date buddies!

AFM: Things are going well here. I feel like I am growing a ton in the past week or so! We don't find out gender until next Wednesday. I am so excited to find out, but think I will go crazy trying to keep my mouth shut for the next 20 weeks.

We def are! My friend peeked at 16 wks and it made us think then another girl. Baby had legs crossed but the few times we glimpsed we didn't see any baby boy bits. I'll have my friend scan me again in maybe 2 wks and we'll see if we can get a better look then. I think a surprise would have been fun but DH wanted to know. I think I would be the same way too if we had all boys but I am just so content w/ having all girls. I think it's special. Yeah, it bugs me when all people think about is boy/girl. All we really care about is being able to bring our baby home. My SD is 12, my 1st DD is 4, my 2nd DD would be 2 1/2 but she died, my 3rd DD is 15 mos. What about yours?

That is strange that the never found a cause for the bleeding. Maybe it was an SCH but was being passed when they've checked, so they never saw the SCH, just the bleeding resulting from it.
Either way, as long as everything is fine with those babies, that's what matters!

It's awesome to have the rink here - it's a small rink, really just a barn with an ice surface so we're under the weather's control for temp and ice conditions. Cuz of that we only have ice and do lessons through the winter months, but it works out great for our town. :) The kids at school (which is right across the street from the rink) use it all winter for skating and curling for PE, too.

It is a long go of it, and will be both Tues and Thurs, but ah well. It's town, and there are other parents there to chat and visit with.

I'm starting with a blanket, a tree of life (http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/baby-tree-of-life-throw)blanket that I  I'm going to do it in acrylic though so its easy to wash! I am so excited, I make a blanket for each of the kiddos, and each one is very special to me.

If it helps, my contractions started by 17 wks with my last one. By 22 wks I was dialated to 3 cm, but made it to 38 weeks by just taking it as easy as I could, with three other busy children and hubby stationed in Okinawa without us.

I was just working in the kitchen and had a thought. Could the pressure/ pain I've been feeling be a UTI? I hadn't even thought of it, until I had to pee for like the 3rd time since I started making dinner. I've had to pee a lot the last couple days. And, yes, I know that's normal in pregnancy, but this is a lot.

JoAnna - Glad everything looks good! I've been having contractions for the last week too (my doctor tried to convince me it was round ligament pain, but I'm 100% certain now that it's contractions). I started having them at 14 weeks with DS (and also had sporadic bleeding throughout the 2nd tri) and he went to exactly 40 weeks, so hopefully that's how it will be for you too!

I met w/ a CHOICE MW on Wed and the place the have and the lady was very nice! The biggest downfall is the drive. It takes over a hr for me to drive there and I'd have to drive there for all my appts. Plus when all is said and done if I go w/ them this HB will cost around the same as a hospital birth. (Which sucks but w/e) My plan is to keeping looking for a MW that I connect w/ that is closer to me. If I can't find one then I'll go w/ CHOICE.

I also checked out some movies from their library-The Business of Being Born and Pregnant in America.

Had doc appt yesterday(with my fav doc at practice)...After having lost weight in the first trimester, and gaining it back by last visit...I am the same...so I am still at my pre-pregnancy weight at 20wks...the doc didn't seem worried, and I have quite a bit of extra weight anyways, but I've never been at my pre-pregnancy weight at 20wks before.

Discussed the ultrasound because I thought I saw the tech write accreta on a photo, but the doc says it isn't on the report so I was seeing things(quite possible I had to pee bad and really have no idea what I saw. We have to go for another ultrasound though because they didn't see if the cord was a 2 vessel or 3 vessel cord...so now I am a little worried about that. He wants the ultrasound done before the end of the month, so I am calling to schedule it today.

I have made a sudden turn around in the weight department. Yesterday was my 16 week appt and I gained 10 lbs since my 12 week appt! I blame my mom bring me gluten free lasagna and cookies for Christmas!:giggle:

The appointment went kinda downhill from there. Actually from the time I left the waiting room, I guess... I have to go back today to get an u/s of my ovaries because I had a 6 cm cyst that they are watching. Then another appt about the u/s results. Then I have to go to the hospital and get an ekg and a Holter monitor because I've been having heart palpitations. Did you know that's when your heart feels like it is beating really hard and loudly? Learned something new. My midwife said it is probably just stress.

I'm DYING for my anatomy u/s! It's not til the 23rd! The midwife said it will be in 3D. I've never seen that before!

I totally did this with our last babe! I was convinced she was a boy so I bought all kinds of boy goodies, I was a bit shocked when she was born and DH announced "it's a girl!"

Just 1 day stands between me and seeing my little wiggly baby on the ultrasound!!! I get butterflies in my stomach when I think about it!

I was thinking all day yesterday that there was someone that had their us scheduled for today!

mine is next tuesday : pout:

Yah!

Baby A is a boy!!! Baby B was a little camera shy and we couldn't determine for sure, but I'm guessing 70% chance of boy also.

But baby A definitely had a penis! No ifs ands or butts!

Eeek!! I'm so tickled for you Katrina!!

AFM - I'm so super excited! Today is my birthday and as a surprise, my DH has arranged for my mum to watch the kids so that we can go and celebrate the weekend with my besties in Ottawa! Eeeeee! :woot2:

How nice, and Happy Birthday!! I love special time with DH like that, even when it includes other couples. I tell DH every borthday/ anniversary/Christmas that all I want is a nice night out with just him. Arrange a sitter so we can have some time.

AFM: I was lurking on here yesterday, I never did find the energy to jump in  We had our first real snow storm of the winter so the kids had a snow day and I stayed home with them. It was so nice. I put a spaghetti sauce in the crock pot, we played and they went outside for a loooong time. Then, when DH got home from work we braved the weather and went to the grocery and I baked a bunch when we got home. I had a horrible time with my leg though, I've had terrible issues with my sciatic nerve in my right leg since our first pregnancy and yesterday was the worst it's been in a long time. I was almost in tears in the hall, unable to move. It was almost as though my leg was having a seizure, I had no control and was in the most terrible pain :( I think I'm going to talk to my mw about going to a massage therapist at my next appt. I thought it was getting better because my uterus has most definitely moved up a ton, but no luck I guess.

Oh, and DH will be home with us this weekend, it's his weekend off :lostit:

I love hearing everyone's ultrasound news! I'm trying to be patient- I'm so excited for Wed. to come. So, I'll pray for me and others who are waiting to be patient. Can't wait to continue reading everyone's news. I really respect and admire all those who are team green. I'm just not that patient. I bought two onesies yesterday- one in blues and the other in pinks. The plan is to give the correct one to the kids (in a gift bag) to open when we get home from the ultrasound. I thought it'd be a fun way to announce it to them.

I would go through and quote, but I'm feeling exhausted and a bit overwhelmed today. Coming on here and reading everyone's news helps me perk up a bit. I took all my energy to get out of bed and get kids ready for school & to the bus today. I'm on my second cup of coffee. I don't drink coffee everyday, and if I do, it's only one cup. I'll probably pay for it later- since I don't drink it a lot anymore, more than a cup makes me feel a little jittery.

Change of subject:
Does anyone else feel like you have to go to the store a lot? (food) We live in a campus apartment, so we don't have a deep freeze and our fridge isn't very big. We buy in bulk what we can- what we have space to store. But it seems like I'm running to the store way to often for the fresh stuff- milk, produce, etc. Especially because I'm making a concentrated effort to eat more fruit/ veggies/ whole foods, and getting my family to as well. (I love that my kids eat salad happily, and most don't drench it in dressing!) And I am struggling to get us back to within our food budget. I need to do better at meal planning (something I struggle with anyway, but it's worse when I'm pregnant) and reevaluate. Our budget has gone up some because our littlest guy has some severe allergies. (allergic to milk, and intolerant to wheat, soy, sweet, potatoes, peas, bananas, and kiwi)

I had to do this several years back. I was having chest pains and palpitations. I have a bundle branch block, diagnosed in my teens (that doesn't normally cause any issues at all) so they just wanted to be sure everything was ok. It was a pain to wear the monitor. But they didn't find anything wrong.
Hope it goes ok and turns out to just be stress.

I'm sorry to hear this. This sound like my 3rd, although my c/s was for transverse, so i wasn't in active labor very long. My boy was 9 lbs. 6 oz. It was HOURS before they brought him to me. My husband kept asking the nurses to bring him, and they had different reasons. When my mom came to visit in the evening (my section was at 10am) and they still hadn't brought himto my room, she walked down the hall and demanded they bring him to me right away. THEY DID. My super pro-breastfeeding, la leche leader mother put him right next to me, helped him find my breast. He ended up being my best nurser.

I'll be thinking of your friend and praying things get better. I truly hope she's still able to nurse. It was so healing for me.

We try to go once a month to do a big shop and then every week for perishables like fruit and milk. It works out well for us that way but we have the room to store stuff in our freezer etc.

AFM- totally did not get any knitting done last night lol! I'm going to do some today. DS is home from preschool today, I think he needs a break, it been a very long week and he just lets go when he gets home and it gets very stressful. Also his tonsils are swollen today and he's got a cough, looks like a new cold lol! we were doing good over Christmas holidays, we even avoided the annual immobilizing Christmas flu. So a rest day is good for him, hopefully I can keep it together though because i suspect he's going to have a hard day. DD is just puttering around though, busy as a little bee, she's in love with my belly already, she rubs it several times a day giggling with glee. Oh and tonight the kiddos are going out to my in law's for a couple days :) I'm using tomorrow to get our house back in order and take some time just for me before we have potential company in the afternoon and then we are going to celebrate a friend's birthday tomorrow night and I'm excited about that.

 Hannah! I'm so happy to see you back! Huge congrats on your little girlie! I'll get her added on our DD list!

Well ..we told our family about the baby. I told my sister and his sister, and he told his parents. I guess we'll make it 'facebook official' after the ultrasound tomorrow.

How did the telling go? Can't wait for your u/s news, btw!

AFM: you know how i posted about my friend's sister in law who was induced monday night?

ok someone asked....i started the shots at 17 weeks with kai, a week late. and only went to L&D once(a record) for PTL around 6.5 months.

ds(19 months) is sleeping naked again:headscratch:

She was induced early because of his size, right? It sounds like she may have had GD - which can also cause baby's development to be delayed, making for immature lungs, sucking reflex, etc at birth, even with a big "term" baby. :(
 he gets stabilized and they get him in their arms (though I do agree with you that if they were more forceful chances are they could hold him now).

 the shots help with this wee one like they did with Kai! I do remember him being early, but couldn't remember all the details, sorry.

:headscratch: Is he having kinda sensory issues with having anything on his body, or getting rashes or something more like that? I agree with not wanting him in your bed if he's naked, though - we'd wake in a puddle if Levi was naked in our bed! :giggle:

My plan is to keeping looking for a MW that I connect w/ that is closer to me. If I can't find one then I'll go w/ CHOICE.

 That sounds like a perfect plan, but :yay: for finding someone/where you like and feel comfortable! The distance is sucky though. But maybe, if things were progressing normally, you could put off (for a bit anyways) the more frequent visits?

We have to go for another ultrasound though because they didn't see if the cord was a 2 vessel or 3 vessel cord...so now I am a little worried about that. He wants the ultrasound done before the end of the month, so I am calling to schedule it today.

 there are 3 vessels in there and they get a good look this time.

Learned something new. My midwife said it is probably just stress.

:giggle2: I've always gained 2lbs a week through my 2nd trimesters - so 8-10lbs in 4wks sounds just about right!

Sorry about the other crappiness. Is the cyst causing any issues or discomfort for you?
I know I have heart palpitations, pregnant or not, though they're more pronounced while pregnant. I've never bothered to see anyone about them. :dunno: I know my mom had heart arrythmia, and it can be hereditary, so I'm sure that's where it comes from with me.
:crossfingers: and  for good u/s and monitor readings for you.

Eeek!! I'm so tickled for you Katrina!!

:lostit: Yah for more girlies!! I can't believe how many girls we're having already! Does anyone know the tally so far? I'll have to go check the dd thread.

AFM:I had a horrible time with my leg though, I've had terrible issues with my sciatic nerve in my right leg since our first pregnancy and yesterday was the worst it's been in a long time.

:roflmbo: not sure why, but the first time I read what I bolded there I saw "ticked for you" and kept thinking :headscratch: I'm pretty sure Katrina isn't angry, she seems happy with a boy?! Der!

Yup, just check the DD list for a tally. I keep updating as I see the announcements - or trying to anyways - if I do miss someone, sorry, just post in that thread or pm me and I'll get it done for ya!
... so far...
girls - 9
boys - 4
and then team greens - 9

I am sure I have spd (symphysis pubis dysfunction) going on. I have back hip pain at times when not pregnant, but when I'm pregnant it's so much worse with all the extra hormones. And my hip tends to give out on me when it's really bad - which is just annoying.
DH keeps telling me to go see someone about it - but I've had xrays (nothing shows up), and the only thing the Drs tell me is take tylenol 3's for the pain (which I react horribly to) and go for physio (which I have NO time for!). So I don't bother.
The only pregnancy I haven't had terrible troubles with it through was Isaac's - when we were seeing a chiropractor each week. :)

Have a great weekend together! :)

Change of subject:
Does anyone else feel like you have to go to the store a lot? (food)

Wednesday will be here before you know it - reminding me, my u/s is Wednesday too.
team green isn't a big deal for us - we've never found out with any of our kids and have no desire to. It's just something we love waiting for - the moment of birth and seeing who the little one is. :)
I love your idea for announcing to the kids!

We live 45mins from town, so we make weekly meal plans and weekly grocery trips. We do have a freezer out in the garage and use it for some meats (some years we've bought half a pig or cow) and also we buy day old bread at a bakery for $1 a loaf (as opposed to $3-5 per) and freeze that.

It was HOURS before they brought him to me. My husband kept asking the nurses to bring him, and they had different reasons. When my mom came to visit in the evening (my section was at 10am) and they still hadn't brought himto my room, she walked down the hall and demanded they bring him to me right away. THEY DID.

I definitely wouldn't have seen Isaac until after I'd left recovery and returned to my room if it hadn't been for DH - he knew how important it was to me to have baby right after birth (or asap in the case of the csec) and as soon as recovery called up to the NICU to say I was awake from the meds he said "I'm taking the baby down to her". They tried to tell him they were too busy, there were no free nurses to accompany him, etc - but he said "It's our 3rd, he's fine and I'm taking him."
They got the lactation consultant to accompany him down right away :giggle:
One of the coolest parts is that there was a student nurse there that day - she'd done part of my prep and had been in the OR until I had to be put under general, then instead of staying with me she went with baby upstairs (which was fine). But then she came down with DH and the LC and got to see that it is possible to have a fresh-from-csec mom nurse, side lying, in recovery. I just think it's neat because it's obviously not the "norm" for the hospital, but maybe this student nurse will remember it and make it more of a priority for moms and babies after csecs? I hope so anyways :)

AFM- totally did not get any knitting done last night lol! I'm going to do some today.

I just had a friend (old dd group) message me on FB asking about me making these boots for her baby boy with some longies
http://media-cdn.pinterest.com/upload/142637513167751315_Z26qoSzZ_c.jpg

 them! I'm hoping to find some patterns to get a good idea and then make them for her.... then make a pair for Bug too! :giggle:

No, not more ! Hopefully it won't hit too hard and you'll all be back to feeling normal soon.
Have fun at the party! :)

AFM- Baby Pickle had been very active this week. Constant movement!!

:yay:

AFM: This week seems to have gone fast for me - can't believe it's all ready Friday! The school has their skate-a-thon (fundraiser) this afternoon, so all the kids stay all day. Isaac loves to have full days like the "big kids" :) Then Zech is going to his teacher's house for a sleep over tonight - she has a DS his age and one Ruth's age too - he's not just going to her house!
So it's just me and Levi all day - he's still in his jammies :giggle:

Lots of girls, that is wonderful! I am thinking we are having a girl too but I have another 3wks before I find out. On a side note I have a question for you all, I have been having some cramping/pain on the left side in my back that goes into the left side of my belly. I am getting kinda worried not really sure what to think. Any ideas? It kinda feels like my kidney but it goes around to the front so I don't know.

That doesn't sound like fun. :( It could be something normal - ligaments stretching from growth, etc - it could also be a kidney thing. If it keeps up or worsens I'd definitely go get it checked out. If it stops or comes and goes I'd probably wait till my next appt and mention it then.

Sounds like what my husband describes when he has a kidney stone.
If that's what it is, lemonade(made with real lemon juice) helps to break down the stones. And makes them easier to pass.

I had a horrible time with my leg though, I've had terrible issues with my sciatic nerve in my right leg since our first pregnancy and yesterday was the worst it's been in a long time.

Have you tried a chiropractor? That seems to help a lot of women with sciatica.

Thanks! I don't feel like anything is going to be wrong, but I had this with my first and it got progressively worse until he was born... I always wondered if I should have pushed my midwives to refer me to a cardio...and he has autism so it makes me a little nervous. I bet it's nothing, though.

Thank you! I had some stabbing pain off and on where the cyst was, but I can't say for sure it wasn't round ligament pain. there were a lot of small cysts at one point, so it also could have been those rupturing. So at the u/s today the cyst was much smaller, which is awesome! No surgery to take it out, that's what I was nervous about!

yep but the ultrasound place is unbendable in their rules, they actually get angry if you ask lol they are afraid of a lawsuit if they make a mistake or something. Its weird because in other cities here its not a big deal and the tech will tell you right away. Its just our backwards city that is weird. :D

I have a spot on my right side where I get a sharp pain now and then - but it's not like you're describing. I'm actually pretty sure mine is something pulling/sitting weird in my pelvis/abdomen from my csec with DS2. I never had it before then, but since then it hurts now and then even when not pregnant, though it's worse when I am pregnant and growing.

Is your OB open tomorrow? If not... is there a walk-in clinic you could go to? I don't think I'd want to bother with emerg - too long a wait - unless they would shuttle you directly to l&d because of the pregnancy?

Just waiting for it to sink in :giggle:

Also, I has success with the home doppler today! Found baby's heartbeat a few times and it was in the 150-160's. This was only the second time I was able to find it. I had no luck prior to 17 weeks.

I kwym about the toys - I hate having so many in the house. But there's still tons in the house.
Part of me wants to get all the baby stuff out - so itty and cute to go through! - but we really have no room made for it at all. We do a purge after Christmas and birthdays to get rid of toys that are broken or not played with. They really don't have as much as alot of other kids I know but its still alot for our small house and it feels like its overflowing lol! I'm so excited to get baby stuff out, mostly I need to reorganize the closet where everything is stored because it is a huge mess and I have to pack up more of the bigger kid clothes, so I like to start with the baby stuff. We already know where baby will be (in our room) and have a dresser for baby clothes (in dd's room with the crib as well) provided we don't move before baby comes.

I know how you feel. Our kids don't have nearly as much as other kids, and I do still purge frequently. But it still feels overwhelming. Right now, we live in a 4 bedroom apartment. It's not bad in space, but doesn't have a lot of storage. (no coat closet, for instance) We've been as creative as we can (white cabinet/shelves to use for food and school and crafty stuff, etc.) My kitchen is teeny with very little cabinet space. The baby will be in our room at first, then share with our 2 year old. I've got a changing table/dresser that I'll use for baby. I need to figure out something else for the toddler. I'd like to get him a captains bed, and use the drawers for his dresser. My stress is our room. It already doubles as our office, and is cramped.
I'm torn between the desire to get ready for baby and feeling overwhelmed by more stuff. It makes me want to move, which is a possibility. but there are some real advantages to being on-campus. (community/ friends for example, and low rent)

My husband has been unemployed for awhile. We should know in the next week or two about a regular/ full time job possibility and also a ministry internship, which would be part-time, but provide a little bit of extra income. (and get us closer to our goal, which is to be in ministry full-time)

We've had a pretty lazy Sat. here, too. My husband sold his Jeep, which he's been trying to do.
I'm working on homeschool records, which I am WAY behind on. :banghead:

Elena- We're in the same boat as you, now that we're going on #5. We had already resorted to having to build a bedroom in the basement, and getting pregnant again just set it in stone all that much quicker. The biggest problem is the bedrooms are small so we really can't do any moving around in order to make more space available. I have to get on the ball and call about having a couple of cracks fixed in the foundation to make sure it stays dry so we can get cracking on the building piece. My hope is to get it done by May so I can get Paisley moved out of our room and hopefully sleeping through the night before the baby comes.

Oh and the cupcakes....Lets just say I ate two, and when the kids asked if they could have one I said no

Congrats to everyone finding out genders! Super exciting!

I still have to wait two more weeks before I find out, the wait is killing me. My instinct says boy but watch me eat my words. Either way I'll be excited!

we have a full house too. my sis and her 4 girls live with us so we already have 10 in our 4 bedroom house. all the toys are in the playroom and the bedrooms are just for clothes/beds and sleeping. right now dh and i are in one room with ds(19 months); sis is in another with her baby(14 months); her older girls are in a 3rd room(7, 4, 3); and my girls are in a 4th room(5.5 and 3.5). kai's crib is in my girls' room and we hope to move him in there before the baby comes....starting on that tomorrow night actually. and the baby will room with us for a bit like all of ours have. but i was thinking tonight...at some point ill have to give ds his own room since he's the only boy(probably not for a few years??) and i dont have anywhere to move him to unless sis and her girls move out:eek: we have reached maximum capacity i think:cry:

We do a purge after Christmas and birthdays to get rid of toys that are broken or not played with. They really don't have as much as alot of other kids I know but its still alot for our small house and it feels like its overflowing lol! I'm so excited to get baby stuff out, mostly I need to reorganize the closet where everything is stored because it is a huge mess and I have to pack up more of the bigger kid clothes, so I like to start with the baby stuff. We already know where baby will be (in our room) and have a dresser for baby clothes (in dd's room with the crib as well) provided we don't move before baby comes.

I'd love to get rid of a few more things... but the things we have in the playroom (cars, trains and tracks, play kitchen) get played with lots by Levi and the older kids too. The boys have playmobile and lego in their room, Ruthie has little pet shop and barbies in her room - not too much... but still lots!

There's not much baby stuff to get out here - swing (though that's being used by my friend for her nephew right now), bassinet, clothes and diapers. We will need to get a dresser for someone - not sure which kid will end up with a new one. I'm debating maybe getting the older boys a side-by-side one, 3 drawers each, then giving their tall one to the baby, kwim?

It wouldn't be hard at all to make room for the baby if only the older boys shared a room well. They do all right through the day, playing and whatnot. But bedtimes are horrendous. Sometimes they're tired and just lay down, whisper for a couple minutes, then go to sleep (like tonight, for example), but some nights it is an hour + of them talking and laughing and being loud, or picking on each other, fighting and yelling.
Either way, there's no way Levi can move in with them. :( If they would settle at bedtimes (ftr, they do have staggered bedtimes, but DS2 stays awake waiting for DS1 to come in and then it starts) there's definitely room in there for his crib and dresser. But he needs to sleep.

Oy, lots of moving and figuring to do when there's more kids to fit in, lol. There wasn't all this debating when it was only one or 2 kids!

:giggle2: I've done the same thing with some of my treats!

He wouldn't really need his own room for a good 2-3yrs, at least. :) Lots of time for things to settle more for your sister, and for things to change.

We have a sort of lazy saturday at home today! I'm purging the children's toys as they once again have wayyy too many and my house is exploding so it makes me anxious lol! I'm putting away a bunch they don't play with anymore. I'll bring them back out when Baby is old enough to play with them (yay for not having to buy more toys!) and my Christmas stuff is still up lol! I've just had no ambition to take it down. That must come down as well so my life gets back in order. Then I can start sorting etc for baby clothes :D oh and rearrange my sewing corner in our bedroom so I can start sewing too. It feels like I'm nesting already.

Whenever I'm preg I always want to purge the whole house and I'm already feeling the itch to do it and have started. It makes sense though with another baby coming to get rid of the stuff you don't need/want to make more room. Baby will be w/ us for a while but after that it'll be 2 kids to a room. People keep saying we need a bigger house but w/ the market the way it is we're not likely to sell our house for what we need.

And our Christmas decorations are still up. Well, the tree isn't decorated but it's still standing and lights are still up outside.

I dont' have my US scheduled yet... And I can't decide if I want to find out the sex or not. DH thinks he NEEDS to know, but this being our third (maybe last) and we allready have a boy and a girl, I think a suprise would be nice. EXCEPT when I want to buy stuff for the baby, LOL.

Also, I has success with the home doppler today! Found baby's heartbeat a few times and it was in the 150-160's. This was only the second time I was able to find it. I had no luck prior to 17 weeks.

I would have loved a surprise but DH likes to find out. It is good to find out to buy baby stuff! And yay for finding HB on doppler!

Congrats to everyone who found out gender! More girls added to the group it seems!

AFM: We took the kids to a museum today and they had fun. Left earlier than expected as younger DDs were getting bit overtired so we didn't get to see a planetarium show. Ate Godfather's for lunch but I'm not sure it agreed w/ me as I got sick later. :puke:
