I have lots of questions but I will try to keep it to a minimum.

A little background...I don't know if it matters but I am 35 and my cycles have been 'all of a sudden' very irregular. I also have moments of extreme anger and days of extreme fatigue. I have been to my OB (which btw, no tests were done) and she has put me on the BC Mircette. Mircette is a low dose pill that has 3 weeks of active pills, 2 days of placebo, and then 5 days of low dose estrogen. I am at the end of my first pill pack (which I have been spotting for 4 weeks and now am finally getting what may be a period). I'm assuming my OB put me on these pills thinking I may have low estrogen?? I feel very confused and am worried about this whole situation.

Has anybody been on BC pills to balance out their hormones? Is this my only option?

If I get off of the pill am I going to be able to get pregnant if I have a hormone imbalance?

Where can I go from here if we want to conceive?

Well first of all :hugs: to you. I know the feeling all too real. We had been TTC for 2.5yrs and nothing... then I followed what step 2 and got pregnant. Here is what I suggest
1. Get your PROGESTRONE checked
2. Read " What Your Doctor may NOT tell you about Premenopause" by John R. Lee. A very good book, important chapters on natural progesterone cream.
3. Get some natural progestrone cream... NOT from the doctor.

The book is very informative, I found it on Amazon for very cheap.

My story short form. I knew that something was off, and I was recommended this book and I read it and started using the cream, & 3 months later I got pregnant. I wasn't suppose too get prego but my body was lacking so much progesterone that I ended up getting pregnant very late in my cycle( 3 days before AF was to show!!!)

Hope this helps and good luck with all of it. If you have any other questions feel free to pm me.

Oh, so maybe a low pregestrone issue and not estrogen? See, I told you I was confused:giggle: . I have just placed the book on hold at the library. My next docs appointment isn't for another six weeks. She wanted to give the pills time to see if they worked. I would rather not be on chemical pills and go a more natural route. I really wanted to see a naturopathic doc but our insurance doesn't cover it. It didn't even dawn on me until I got home and started reading up online about hormone imbalance that fertility might be an issue now. Of course, now I'm all worried about it and have no clue how to start fixing it. Thank you for the recommendations! I'll ask for a pregestrone test at my next docs visit.
