View Full Version : The hardest project I've ever done...

There is a sad story behind this project...you can read about it here if you're interested: http://www.diaperswappers.com/forum/showthread.php?t=136660

This has been by far the hardest thing I've ever made but it really has been cathartic for me to work on these and I'm pleased with how they came out. I was hoping to get blankets made to match but I just don't have time so I let my neighbor pick from some blankets I already had done.

Here are the pics:

and the blankets she chose:

That's a beautiful set but a very sad sad story. It is wonderful for you to care her for her by making these items. :hugs: I will be praying for the other baby and let us know what happens.

Those booties & bonnets are beautiful and you are wonderful for pouring yourself into such a thoughtful thing. Sending love to you and your friend during this difficult time. :hugs:

Thanks everybody! I do believe that every baby should have something handmade. And I remember when my SIL went through this, the hospital gave my niece an afghan from Project Linus. It sounds like such a small thing but it really meant a lot to all of us...even though it was made by a total stranger...or maybe because it was made by a total stranger. Ever since then, Project Linus has been one of my favorite charities and I donate tons of blankets for them but this was a little different. Thank you for all the prayers...I know it means a lot to her!

That is beautiful!!!! When my daughter was in the NICU, a total stranger crocheted her a beautiful pink blanket, that blanket is something we will cherish forever, the kindness of a stranger. I guarentee it means a whole lot to her and you are such a great mama to do this!!!! :hugs:

What a sweet set. A horribly tragic story but I'm holding out hope for the other baby. That sweet mama needs some major hugs!
