Curious what everyone else thinks...

Is buying a used swimsuit like buying used underwear? There were some super cute ones for dirt cheap at my favorite consignment sale tonight, but I couldn't bring myself to buy one. Would you buy a used swimsuit?

I buy used for my kids all the time. I just can't do it for myself. IDK, maybe there's something wrong with me lol. But I don't think I could wear a used swimsuit.

I don't think I could wear a used bathing suit either, and I really have no logic behind it, just sort of weirds me out, lol.

I buy used dipes but not used suits for the kids. I however bought a used suit for me though I got it from a friend.

All I can think is eww yuck and all the stats about undiagnosed whatever down there. But I buy used diapers...

I have started to think used dipes are gross...especially the thick aio....hard to deep clean imo. But a used swimsuit???? Just wash it and go for it!

I had a used swimsuit when I was pregnant with Maddy. I washed it and didn't think twice about it.

I will add that I don't buy/use used diapers either.... I just can't do it. I wish it didn't bug me though, I'd save a lot of money.

I only buy used diapers that can be bleached to sanitize them, so I wouldn't buy a used swimsuit since it can't be bleached without ruining it. Our AIOs are always new, but cotton fitteds, covers, etc, will usually be used.

Why couldn't you bleach it? I bleach colors all the time.. No issues? If the bleach mix is right, I've never even stained anything?

I will bleach anything if it needs it. Every time I buy used diapers, the first thing I do is bleach them.

I can't see why you couldn't bleach a swim suit. There's chlorine in pool water and that's basically bleach!

I ended up with bleach spots on a swim suit once, so I figured the fabric or the dye used wasn't as tolerant to bleach as others.

I think used swim suits are fine - as long as they are deep cleaned, even boiled maybe.

I would. Especially a maternity swim suit. That it what bleach is for. Add the bleach directly to your wash water, let it fill up 1/4 to 1/2 way and add clothes. I do it with colored towels and haven't had any problems yet.

Same with all my diapers.
