I have a combi avatar and hate it. It is the worst carseat ever. The thing ways a ton, is hard to install, doesn't have a great fit in any of the 6 cars I've tired it in, the cover is all snagged and worn from dd's feet, and to top it off the first time I washed it the foam backing came off of the cover. O, and you have to hold the to things that go into the buckle together and buckle them at the same time. While this doesn't sound like a big deal, it becomes one when you are tying to buckle in a screaming, kicking 1 year old. I tried to contact combi multiple times and they never responed to me. My dd is around 30 inches at 15 months and only 19lbs and is almost about to out grow the rear facing hight limit, this is the biggest deal breaker for me. DD is no where near being ready to forward face, she doesn't even meat the minimum requirements. The avatar was there convertible model and is no longer being made, so maybe the infant seat are better but personally I'd never buy another combi car seat.
My mom actually surprised me with a britax marathon this weekend  and just from the few times I've used it, it is defiantly worth the money. The seat fits great in both of our cars and dd will be able to rear face for a long time. Its very user friendly and I love it. For an ifant seat we had a chicco and it was a great seat too, but if I had it to do again I'd just go with a convertable seat from the start.
