I PMed a mama letting her know I wanted something she was buying for sure and just to PM me back with the shipping ammount and her paypal address. She had another post and I found another dipe I would like so I PMed her about that as well, saying I'd like it but I'd really like to see a picture first and asked for the combined shipping about for both diapers.
She replied back to both my PMs, the first one she sent me the shipping amount and her paypal address and she also PMed me back saying she'd send me a picture of the other diaper.
I figured since she already sent me her paypal address she'd be holding it for me until I sent her paypal for both diapers (after I recieved a pic of the second one).
Well I was wrong. She updated her thread saying that the first diaper was sold.
Does that seem unfair to you ladies?

Maybe it's sold to you? Have you asked her? Maybe she marked it sold because she knew you would pay for it.

No, I said something and she said she sold it to someone else :-/

That wasn't nice at all. She should have waited if she knew you were looking at the other diaper.

Yeah, but if she keeps doing that to people, they will stop buying stuff from her. . .
Karma, right?

:yuck: I think we should have some sort of guidlines to follow here for selling etiquette. Was she new here? That would upset me. I would just send her a pm explaining why you are upset and that it's not good etiquette to do that. Like the other mom said people will stop buying from her.

I have a list of people who have done this to me and so I make sure I dont buy from them anymore. This just happened to me recently. I said I wanted a both covers she was selling and just needed to know the sizes. By the time she got the sizes to me, I sent an immediate pm telling her I would take both and she informed me she sold one of them. Wont buy from her again.

Yeah, when sell things, the first person to PM me with interest I hold it for (as long as they make it fairly clear they are going to buy it) if anyone asks about it after that I tell them someone else was interested before them and that if they decide not to take it I'll let them know. I just thought that was the way to handle it?

I don't know if I think it's unfair...How do you know that someone else wasn't acually the first person to PM her about the second diaper? If they weren't then I can understand how you'd be upset but also I see it from a sellers POV too...I mean the first to pp would be the first to get it. I personally DO hold things for people but it has come upt o bite me later when the person I'm holding for backs out after me holding for them for a period of time. Thats pretty frustrating in itself and as a seller, you're wanting to move an item. You said you would like to see a picture, maybe someone else said "Ill take it!" and you hadn't acually said you would take it...you said you wanted to see it first. I could be way off but thats JMO.

ITA with Shannon!
I've had mamas LOTS of times say they're "interested" & ask Qs (even my PP address) & then when I PM them a week or 2 later they say they've changed their mind. Not to mention the # of times that someone has said that they DEFINATELY want it, then I've turned down other sales saying it's sold only to have the 'buyer' not send payment & when they finally get baack to you they say that they've changed their mind. :(
Unless someone says that they definately want something I won't "hold it" for them. If they've said that they have to say check with their baby's sizing or something I'll hold it... but if another person says that they definately want it then I'll PM the first person back and say "do you still want this? because there is someone else in line behind you"
But if someone just says "I'm interested in...or what size is...or how much are you asking..." that is not a sale IMO. And the first person who says that they want something is the 'buyer'.
starwithnolight...is it possible that she already had a 'buyer' for the dipe when you asked for the pic...but didn't tell you because the person hadn't yet paid...but after she told you she'd send the pic the 'buyer' paid...? :o
