Ok here it goes, I'm new here and never started a thread bf soooo
My DS is 13mo, he's very large (32lbs n 34 inches) I'm currently using an ergo and prefer back carrying. I have no issues w back/shoulder pain but he's a leaner. I think I need something w a higher back bc he's so tall, also wider at base for more leg support.
I've been eyeing up a toddler size kinderpack, I don't do face book so how do I get one? Also how much are they brand new, are they standard and just in different fabrics? Any info would help, I know I can get some great feedback!

Google "kindercarry" and you will find it. I can't link from my phone. Her stock is low right now, and I'm not sure when she has a stocking next. Thebabywearer.com has a fsot forum and you can find them there as well. Fsot here has them too but not as many, or at least i don't see them as often.
My mom just got a kp for herself and i have been loving it. My DD is 29 lbs and 31in and she fits fine in the standard, but i think the toddler would be even better. You should definitely go with the toddler. I have been using the ergo and this is so much more comfortable!

That's what I was thinking-toddler. I just didn't realize it would be so complicated to buy one!! Then there are so many pretty options-I can't make up my mind!
So for you a kp is way more comfy then the ergo?
My fear is I'll get this and DS won't want to be carried anymore;(

KPs are awesome big kid carriers! I carry my two year old in a toddler size one (we just sized up from standard, they are cry generously sized). They are beautifully made, have a nice deep seat, and are super comfortable.
There are a few toddle size available now (the red Batik on graphite strap and purple paisley on violet strap) in her cart, as she just stocked on Wed:
She stocks about every months or so, sometimes more frequently. Stockings are almost always announced in advance on Facebook or her yahoo group and include preview pics (you can also see the preview pics, and all previous carriers, by looking up magicsling on flickr (http://www.flickr.com/photos/23526316@N06)). They sell at various speeds depending on popularity of the the fabric (they change each stocking and while she may repeat a fabric once, she usually won't do it twice). Right now solar veil carriers for summer sell fast. She usually has fewer toddler size ones than standard in each print, so if you see one you like it's good to grab fast.
They're on the pricey side (about $160, occasionally a hard to find fabric is more) but they are so worth it. I though they were so expensive and then I bought one and now have three! I've had a few others pass through. One nice thing about KPs is that they hold their value well and can usually sold on TBW for a reasonable price when you need to trade sizes or find a print you like better.
For used, TBW FSOT boards is the best place to find one. Good luck!

I also love my kp and with new straps now, i think I'd love ot even more. I agree with the toddler size suggestion. My one year old fits in our standard kp just fine but I can see her needing the next size within six or so months. They're great carriers and you won't regret buying one.
