Okay mamas....I'm looking to get one more final carrier. I would like one that will be great for long trips, especially back carries. I have a 24ish pound, tall, 11 month old. I borrowed an Ergo for a title bit with my first son, but I never got to really get a good fit. I'm not sure if I didn't have it adjusted correctly or if it was me. So anyways, I'm just looking for pros and cons of each.

Thanks!

I am totally watching this thread

I'm shopping for my 16 month old, 24 lb. ds. I am having trouble deciding between the PPB Ergo and the Boba 3G...

If you have a tall kiddo, I'd definitely recommend the Boba over the Ergo. The seat/body is higher, so it will contain more of their torso. A lot of times if the body/seat is too short for the baby/toddler they can wiggle and lean back more which can cause strain for the wearer. I also really like the foot straps, so that when their legs get longer and you don't get knee to knee support with just the seat/body anymore it makes up for that.

Ergos are really nice carriers and they work well for a lot of people. They have a nice big pocket on the outside that a lot of people like. I don't love them for toddlers though, because the seat/body is shorter. It's also deeper, so it is possible to get a decent fit with a toddler but it's harder, in my experience. I think the Sport and Performance versions are a bit taller than the regular ones though, so you may want to keep that in mind if you go with an Ergo and have a toddler.

Hope that helps!

Yikes! Stay away!

I actually prefer the ERGO a bit over the Boba, but I do like both. I can fit my heavy 3 yo in my ERGO b/c of that nice, deep seat :)

I have both and I say each has their own benefits. I do like that I don't need an extender to get the boba around me and it seems to have a snugger fit. The ergo fits me wearing my 15 month old(23lbs) a little better.

I just got a Boba 3G and I am short and um... fluffy. It fits great and very comfortably. More so than the Ergo IMO

We love our Ergo. Have had it for 4 years and now using it with second baby. It is a life saver, especially when dad is "babysitting" and needs baby to fall asleep.

I found that the Ergo fit me better for front carries when DS was small, but when he got larger and we moved to back carries the waistband dug a lot. The Boba was more comfortable on the back and the taller body a better fit for his height --- I think we switched at about 10-11 months. But I still used the Ergo for front snuggles for a while, until I got my Kinderpack that we use now (24 months).

If I was buying for an older baby I'd definitely go for the Boba first, if only for the taller body panel.

I used an Ergo and thought it was very comfortable! I am loving the comparison to Boba though, I am curious to try one now!

I tried a friends Ergo and found it very comfortable, but ultimately bought a Boba 3G because my then-8m old was a leaner. I really adore the Boba.

The purse straps are the best feature ever. And I love the tall shell that holds dd so close to my body. I can wear the waist belt above my hips very comfortably, so it doesn't push my pants down.

I never thought I would like a SSC this much, but I really do adore my Boba.

Just wanted t say that I got a Boba and I absolutely love it! Even put my 37 lb. 3 year old in it to test it. He was thrilled and I barely felt him on there. Thanks for the advice ladies!

I liked that the boba was better for taller babies because the back goes up higher. But that couldn't make up for how uncomfortable i felt with it on. The buckles and adjusting plastic things were ALWAYS in the worst spots. Digging into my arms, rubbing in the wrong spots. difficult to adjust. I couldn't stand it. I wore it maybe 5 times before giving up and going back to the ergo. Plus, my son doesn't seem to care that the back of the Ergo doesn't go all the way up to his neck. (i think that actually bothered him with the Boba because he felt soooo closed in. He just wanted OUT!)
