My cousin has DD and I want to get her a gift, she just turned 4. In pics she looks slim. What size does the typical 4 year old wear?

If she is slim, my dd wears 4/5 tees and 4 skirts or shorts.. hth! if your getting her a skirt, make sure you size down if she is slim!

my dd is 3 and wears 4t, but now gymbo, gap, old navy, and I think Childrens place are making these internal belt things that you can make the waist smaller:) It is great!!!

Target also does that with the Circo brand - at least with jeans.
My 8 yr old and 5 yr old are both small waisted and we love the Circo jeans.
Arizona clothing (from JCPenney) tends to run very large.

My DD is 4.5 and wears 5/6 in shirts and dresses. I buy 5's in pants and shorts though. Pants for the length. I also buy the pants with the adjustable waist. My DD is very skinny but pretty tall for her age.

My slim 4 yr old wears size 5/5T and needs an adjustable waist in just about everything... unless it has a drawstring! He is on the tall side.

my YDD will be 4 next month and depending on who makes the item of clothing - she wears anything from a 3t/4t (shirts mostly) to a 5 or even a 6/6x (hand downs that have shrink from ODD mostly)

I won't be of much help...my DD wore 2T at 4 y/o. She's almost 5 now and she wears 3T.

well my 26mo wears a 4(and some fives)...SOOO.. lol

id say look at the clothing and hold it up and see if it looks like it would fit to you..or just give a gift cert or something!

My 4 yr old wears a 6, sometimes 7! Shoes are size 11. Bigger than normal for sure. If you're unsure of size, get a gift receipt or give a gift certificate.

Mine is in 4's and 4T :) She is avg size. Does have long legs so dresses are a bit shorter than on avg kids so we get the longer ones :)

My DD is skinny...when she was 4 she would wear 4 tops and 3 bottoms...the only exception was if the bottoms were pants (like jeans) then she needed the 4 for the length in the legs (and then it had to have the adj waist or we had things falling off)......skirts/shorts/capris/skorts...all one size down so they were not falling off of her!!!

It depends on her size.
DS is 3.5 and wears a 4 slim or a 5t in pants a 4t-5t in shirts and a 10.5-11 in shoes.
Hes a big boy.

Go for a skirt or shorts and top set if you are unsure of her height. My four year old daughter is thin, but sometimes the 4t pants or dress that fits her waist is to short for her frame. I always go with a 5 top, because if it shrinks you want it to fit. So I would do a 4t or 4 in a skirt or shorts and get the top in a 5. Or go with a dress and get a 5. Dresses can be worn longer if it is too big and most girls like long dresses. It makes them feel like princesses. Hope this helps!

I say get a dress cause if it is a little big it is not really gonna fall down KWIM?

or give her a GC to the place of your choice!
