How many kids does everyone have and what was your expereicne conceiving them? dd1 was an earlier-than-planned honeymoon baby , ds took no trying and was a pp ovulation baby, and dd2 was also a no trying pp ovulation baby. #4 is killing us..we've been trying for a year with no baby :( Why? I mean, I know your fertility decreases as you age, but I'm only 28 (well not even 28 for 6 more weeks). Sheesh! This stinks...

Hi! I don't know why you are having a tough time. ((HUGS)) Are you charting? With DS1 our very first cycle trying we got pg and I got a BFP at 10 dpo and was shocked. With DS2 we weren't trying/avoiding but I had had pp af but was still bfing and had a chemical pg and then the following month got pg with DS2. This time around we have been using NFP/charting since ppAF arrived. We had an oops got my dates wrong in March (bd 3-4 times during O week) and still didn't get pg. We decided to wait a few more months so now here we are getting ready to ttc next month. My cycles have never been regular 28 days so charting helps me a lot. I hope you get your BFP soon!

I wasn't really trying to concieve my first baby, just not avoiding. It happened the first month I was off birth control.
It took me much longer to conceive my second because I had developed a thyroid issue. I was actually 28 years old at the time (just like you) and pretty depressed so I went to the dr for anti-depressants. Well they automatically check your thyroid level and mine was off big time. I started synthroid and conceived the next month.
I did chart for a year to prevent pregnancy so I knew when I was ovulating, that made it easier when we were TTC.

We do chart. Our timing is good, it's just not working. :(
This is what I think it is (some TMI): I have been having an ongoing "problem" for a couple years, though, although despite that I have been to 5 doctors now about this, I apparently don't have a problem and it's all in my head and i'm forgetful (20's onset alzheimer's lol) I have VERY irregular cycles, I have random blood clot dropping occasionally with BIG clots, and just bizarre happenings going on. All my paps have come back normal, and I threatened them with a lawsuit to get an ultrasound a few months back which was fine, except the tech couldn't find my ovaries (i told her where they were, but apparently i am wrong as "no one" has ovaries up that high). I'm thinking that there is something gong on, but despite test after test after test my hormone levels have all come back just fine. I REALLY think this all is related, but since I can't find a doc who will even agree with me there is a problem, I can't fix it. Of course, my gyno says I can't conceive this time because I breastfed for too long, a cnm told me i'm too fat to have a baby (i'm 5'7" and weigh 145...i'm not skin and bones but TOO FAT???), my primary is convinced that i "forget" i have my period and my cycles are perfectly regular. I think at thispoint I'm more frustrated that noi one will listen to me than anything else.......

I am sorry it's taking longer this time :(
For us it was the opposite. We tried for a year for Allison, and we went on vacation, left the thermometer/ herbs/ everything home, decided to take a break, and we ended up being blessed with our first daughter. DD#2 and #3 were conceived while bfing, and were total surprises. So I don't know.

we concieved DD about 3 months into our relationship. i have PCOS and was told at 18 that i would NEVER have kids. So we concieved sometime between Thanksgiving and Cmas. I was very very tired on Cmas so im sure i was pregnant by then. It was aobut 4 years prior that i had my last period and aobut a year prior from my last known sign of ovulation.
I found out on march 1st 2002 that i was pregnant. By April DH moved in with me. We were married on June 20th 2002, my 21st bday was on June 25th, and we had DD on August 28th 2002.
When DD Was 3 months old DH and i had the same feeling that we were ment to have more kids. So at 6months old we started the TTC journey. For the first year of TTC we just DTD whenever and watched for fertility signs, we thought it would take a while, but seriously, not this long.
It has been such a pai9nful journey! We are going on 3.5 years of TTC and it kills me everyday to know that i still dont have another baby. Our family isnt complete yet, we know its not.

I'm not ttc, but was appalled at the responses you've gotten from the medical professionals you've sought help from. I'm 5'5" and would look great at 145. In no way, shape, or form would you be too fat to conceive! I conceived my kids at 185 and 193 (and again, I'm 5'5"!) And you're forgetting your periods? How in the world do you forget your periods when you're ttc? And you breastfed too long? Where in the world are these people from?
I would seriously try to find someone else...and with your first appt...just state right from the get go..."Look...i've seen other doctors/professionals and am very unhappy with their answers. It's important that I'm heard and validated. I need a 2nd (3rd, 4th, 5th, whatever) opinion." And I wouldnt' tell them what the other dr's have told you...just tell him/her the issues...what you believe and what you'd like checked...and let him/her come up with something on his/her own...without the other doctors opinions swaying him/her. If you want an ultrasound somewhere odd to try to find your ovaries, then dangit...they better be doing the ultrasound where you suspect!
I would be irate.
I sincerely wish you good luck in your journey and hope you find some answers soon.

Thanks. I AM irate. I've been over and over the reasons why I am not an ignorant flake lol but it doesn't seem to matter. I've brought my charts to two differnt gyn's, I apparently don't know what I'm talking about. :banghead: :banghead: SO frustrating. The big thing is that I'm not overly concerned in regards to ttc, but my mom had a complete hysterectomy at 39 for undiagnosed uterine crowding..i.e. her uterus was FILLED with polyps. She had the EXACT symptoms I have. They did her hyst as an emergency procedure during an exploratory laproscopy :( And i have diagnosed "nerve damage" from having Abby which started with severe hip pain, almost constantly, about 4 months after her birth....and outer ridge pelvic pain is a major diagnostic sympton of ovarian cancer. But oh, I'm too young for that:banghead: :banghead: :banghead: And my mom wonders where my dislike of the medical profession comes from

I'm 28 and have been TTC for 9 yrs. I got pregnant last May but lost the baby in my 5th week. I only knew I was pregnant 6 days.

I have 2 children....
With Sam (7years old) I was not on bc and was with the bf for 5 months of unprotected sex. He was told he would have a harder time concieving b/c he had a hernia when he was little. So it took 5 months with him
With Mia (18 months old) I went off bc beginning of Feb 2004, had one 30 day cycle and was pregnant in March! We found out on Easter Morning!
So my 2nd was easier. i dont knwo if this one will be that easy. we are hoping to be preggo by August though

I have had no problem concieveing until recently.
My first pregnancy i was 16 adn totally unplanned borken condom thing... I mc a few weeks later.
then 17, no condom, just heat of the moment who the heck cares thing, and i got preggy.... again MC
then again at 20, i was on BC and got preggy with triplets. and again they all died.
Then it took 9 months to conceive dd1, 4 months after se was born dd2 was conceived. then i had a while down teh road form that. and then i got preggy with dd3.
I have been trying for 21 months now. I have gotten preggy 2 times in that 21 months, but both ended up withe the baby dying.
the fact that i am 27 and have 3 livign children and 11 angels would make on think i dont have fertilty issues. but i do. I just need to investigate. I used to say my issue was not concieveing, but staying pregnant, and now i fear i have both issues.
I belive it is all courtsey of the DES My mom took when preggy with me. I have a bicornate uterus. and an informal diagnosis of PCOS

We tried 2 mo with my ds and first try with my dd. We are just starting to try for #3 so we will see how that goes.
I would get another opinion and try to find a specialist. Some drs are just soooo stupid and don't listen to anything you have to say!! Best wishes for ttc or at least finding out what is going on.:hugs:
