 I feel terrible...
We went out this morning to Walmart....He wanted to bring in his blankie so bad.
Usually I dont let him, well today I gave in.
We lost it, he must of threw it when I wasnt looking.
Its gone, after searching for it and leaving my name and number at CS.
I'm heartbroken, I know I'll get over it.
I feel terrible though..

Its satin on one side and then on the other side its seperated into 4 different colors Sage, yellow, coral, blue. Those are fleece like.
I got it at Toysrus about 1 1/2 ago.. They dont sell it anymore. They called it the securtiy blanket.

He's only 2 1/2 so its hard for him to understand...
He's been crying all day.. I keep crying with him but my DH is so insensitive saying he'll get over it.
I know he will it will only take a couple of days, he sleeps with a stuffed animal as well. Which we didnt lose, so I'm hoping he'll just attach to that more in the next couple of days.

oh momma :hugs: :hugs: :hugs:
DD is sooooo attached to her raggies which are the single layered birds eye diapers. I purposely choose this as her lovie so I'd always be able to replace it. We've also lost stuff at stores, but it was always at CS. There is still hope...I'd call them every couple-few hours to ck status. They get so busy that they could forget.
Wow - I'm so so sorry he's gotto be so upset :(
I forgot DD's once, and tried to fake her out w/a paper towel....no workie

Honestly, how sad is this... I feel like something is just stomping on my heart over this..
He's my first child so maybe that has something to do with it.
He's such a sweet, and polite little man...
He thinks his blankie is in the laundry...:( Man I wish he could understand..
I keep tearing up over it.. WHY? Its a blanket
I just hope it doesnt take long for him to get over it, if I cant find one.

That is so sad!! My three year old has a bear he can't be without, so I completely understand. He wants to bring it everywhere, and I am petrified we are going to loose it one of these days (and then I am not sure he'll sleep again!).
Anyway, I really, really hope the blanket turns up - that some kind person found it, and will return it to CS. ((((((Hugs))))))))

Be sure to check back in with WalMart, hopefully, someone has turned it in. If not, maybe you can at least remind the new shift in case the workers have changed.

that stinks. same thing almost happened to us today. I had dd in a pouch and she insisted on taking taggie. next thing I know she was crying and said taggie. I turned -she had dropped it and some woman grabbed it and tossed it w/the rest of the yard sale things!!!
fortunately, I have 4 'taggies' just for that reason. I hope you find a replacement he can accept.:hugs:

If that's not it, maybe try taking him to the store with you and having him pick out a new lovey? I lost my stuffed bear when I was about 5 and was completely heartbroken and cried the whole way home (we lost it on the way back from vacation, so a few hours). But my mom let me sleep with one of her stuffed animals and I went to sleep fairly easily. The first night was the worst, but I don't remember being too upset after that so hopefully he'll get over it quickly.

I just read in a magazine recently about a dad's quest to find his daughter's lost lovey. He searched E-bay and other type places.
The article said that sometimes you can call the company that made the item because sometimes they put back items for these very reasons.
Now if I could remember what magazine it was in.

:hugs: My daughter has a blankie that she can't live without too. It was given to her when she was born by my little sister, who said that since she wasn't the baby anymore that she didn't need the baby blankets anymore. :giggle: (She was only like 6 years old or so when I had my daughter.) I have no clue what company made it though or anything like that. It is just a pastel multicolored blanket that is nicely knit. I really hope she never loses it though, cuz it is over 6 or even 8 years old. :banghead: That would be a nice thing to try to find anywhere...ever!

Hello there,
I'm new to this board, and i've never posted before, but your thread touched me so. I have a 5yr old and she has two lovey's. One a stuffed pink poodle, the other a worn pink blanket w/satin binding. One day around xmas time, (She was 3 then) we went shopping. We went to TJ Maxx, then Old Navy, and then Target. We walked all through the stores and tried on clothes. When it came time to go home she noticed that she no longer had them. Being that she was older, she fully understood what loosing them meant. We went back to CS in every store, looked in every dressing room, retraced our steps, they were no where to be found. Dd was devestated and cried and cried, and so did I. The next morning I called The stores hoping they were found by cleaning staff, but nothing. At 9:00am, we went back to the stores and again retraced our steps, and then suddenly, I caught a bit of pink out of the corner of my eye, and there...right where she had laid them, were Pinky pup pup, and blankie! She was so happy. I was so happy. So, please, don't give up. Some how, things that are so loved often find there way back to you. I know if I saw a worn blakie on the floor of walmart, I would know it belonged to some sweet child. I pray that you have good news for us tomorrow. (sorry for being so long winded:)

My daughters favorite blankie/lovie is her 'the hungry caterpillar' baby blankie. She adores bugs and when I was sorting through her baby stuff one day she saw it and latched on like glue. It was as if she remembered it from when she was little. Well--- DH lays in her bedroom every night to calm her down cause she HATES bedtime (misses all that excitement ya know..). Well- to get to the point, she has absolute meltdowns if DH doesn't have the buggy blanket. She INSISTS that he cover himself with it and hold her hand while she falls asleep. She will NOT go to bed and will run around the house calling out 'BUGGY!!! BUGGY!!' if we can't find it. :cry:One night we couldn't find it and she just sobbed and sobbed with DH holding her and rocking her to sleep.... We found it the next day- but it really has me thinking I need to find a duplicate.

If either of my girls lost their blankies...it would be hell in my house. That's why they each of 3 of their favorite blankey. As soon as I figured out what their favorite was, I bought 2 more of the same one.

:hugs: That is so hard mama. Kearnan never had a lovey, other than me I guess. He has some toys he likes, but nothing too special. Tharen on the other hand is in love with his stuffed fox. When I figured out that this was it, true love, I went looking everywhere for a duplicate for just in case. I couldn't find one and finally had to order direct from the manufacturer. Now he has two for just in case. WHich is good cause fox gets lost just around the house alot, and he also seems to really enjoy a good swim in the doggie dish. :lostit: So while one is lost or recuperating the second one is available. He recently took to a taggie blanket as well, but he isn't really particular about it. Just a blanket with tags. I have a small one that lives in teh diaper bag for when he needs it on the go and the bigger one stays in our bed. I'm thinking I ought to make a third just to have in case.

Ya'll are going to get a kick out of this........
Yes, blankies are important...
I still sleep with mine on my head. Every night. I just turned 31 a couple days ago.
My Mom has replaced the binding 3 times (it's one of those with the satin binding) and now says I have to do it myself next time. It has been all over the world with me: Germany, Italy, Poland, the Netherlands, Tunisia, and all over the states. My husband is an indulgent man (sometimes).

LOL mama. I have this tiger pillow. A friend of mine gave it to me when I was about 12 I think. I have kept that thing with me forever. I put him under my pillows at night. He went to the hospital with me when I gave birth to my first son. I still have him, but he was looking so so sad that he now lives with some other special plushes in my closet. I was afraid he would fall completely apart if I kept using him. When I ordered Tharen a duplicate fox I ordered myself a wolf puppy from the same company. Now he sleeps in bed with us and all of the boys plushies.
My brother has this stuffed cat, he calls her "mroww mroww". She used to be this big gorgeous long haired realistic looking plush cat. Mom bought her more just to sit in his room when he was a baby. Well I don't know what it was about her, but he loved her. He took that poor cat with him everywhere. She has been washed and patched soooooo many times I can't even count them. Until he was in his late teens she still slept in bed with him. Now she has a special place in a special satin box in his closet. He was afraid she wouldn't last through another repair job. But he still loves her. He just won't admit it to anyone outside of the family.

I slept with my stuffed mickey until the night before I had my DS, now I co-sleep with him and mickey is put up. I wonder if when DS moves to his own bed if mickey will come back to mine. Glad you found a replacement I just hope he does not realize it is a different one. My parents tried to replace mickey when I was 2 and I took it threw it on the floor and yelled, "Thats not mic!" and threw a fit until they gave me my old mickey back.

So did the OP find the blankie she was looking for?
We have a 4 color minky blanket with a duckie in the middle and satin backing, but I don't remember what colors it is. If she didn't get the other one, she could have ours!
Poor little fellow!

I dint find his actually blankie... But Ri'smom found the exact same blanket without even seeing a pic of it on Ebay.
The lady had a BIN for 10.00 plus 4.00 shipping..
A 14.00 blanket that I probably paid like 5.00 for at the time.
I dont care though..I'd paid 50.00 if it meant getting the same blankie.
So his blankie should be here in a couple of days..
The lady emailed me back right away and said she's going to express it out at no charge...
Meanwhile it was a very long night...
