It doesn't matter if I put the meat in ziplock bags or leave it in the container...still gets freezer burnt  My mom used to wrap hers in aluminum foil and freeze it, but it just sticks to the meat for me.

The only way I haven't gotten it is when I buy the ground turkey on a roll instead of pack.

Suggestions?

About 7 years ago, I bought a Food Saver. Let me tell you... I have used it regularly all these years and no longer have issues with freezer burn!!

It was a great investment. It's still going strong!

I wrap in wax paper first, and then in foil. Works great!

I double bag mine in the freezer bags or I use one regular sandwich bag and put that inside a freezer bag. If I am doing 1lb pkgs of ground beef, I will do 5-6 in quart size freezer bags and then put them inside of a gallon size freezer bag.

We butcher our own meat and we have never had freezer burn. Like pp said, butcher paper (freezer paper) works great.
