My OB called today to let me know that my hemoglobin is normal but my platelets are low. He said there's nothing I can do about it and he will repeat the test in a month. Okay, I'm so confused! :confused: If there's nothing I can do and he's not concerned then why call and tell me about it! :mad:

Maybe so you are aware and you dont go cutting yourself on purpose :p
He is probably just informing you because my guess would be that if your platelets are still low when you deliver you may need a blood transfusion. Thats my first thought...rather than him saying at the time of delivery "oh you need a blood transfusion" you would ask WHY and he would say "because you platelets are low" and you would say "WHY is this the first I am hearing about this?" See where I am going with that?
I hope your platelets go up! ((HUGS))

That makes sense. That way I could have a family member donate the blood ahead of time. Oooh, I think it should be DH! He is such a big baby about needles, I think I should really torture him! Hee, hee!
