And I haven't done anything to prepare. What am I going to serve? I will have 8 adults and about 10 kids, maybe more. I don't know what to make. What am I going to do with all those kids? What are they going to do all day? I would like to keep it all under $200, including the cake.

Any suggestions?

I would keep the food simple! Will you do a meal or just snacks? If a meal do a tortilla wrap, tortilla, ranch dressing spread over it, cover with ham/ turkey a little lettuce, cheese, and tomatoes, peppers if kids will eat them, chips and maybe veggies and punch and you got your food. Play a few simple games, you could google to match the theme of the party, and then just let them play on their own. If it's hot where your at, play in sprinkler or kiddie pool for a while! HTH! GL!

we did kenzie's party last week and had about that many and spent less than $50!!!! Here's what we did:
party was at 1pm(after lunch before dinner)
we got the "smash cake" from publix for mackenzie ($8) and 2 dozen cupcakes ($10)...then bought 2 packages of jucicy juice boxes ($3), chips(BOGO 2 for $2.75), salsa ($2) and pickles($2.50 for me bc im preggo!!!) oh and water bottles (24 for $5).....we made lemonade and tea for the adults:) oh and cheetohs for the kiddos($2)
and that was it:lostit: we had the chips, salsa and cheetohs out (and the drinks) and just brought the cake and cupcakes out halfway through:thumbsup: and then hid the extra cupcakes bc FIL was eating the icing and putting them back:yuck:
ETA: we had the toys/balls/kitchen stuff in the living room and blocked off upstairs with a baby gate and just let the kids play.....except at 3 when it was supposed to be over and no one was leaving and my inlaws kept trying to snatch dd(very tired) from my arms after i said "no"....then we went and hid upstairs and let dh deal with it

We did a pasta salad with veggies for the kids. That was a big hit. And burgers on the grill for the adults. It was pretty cheap and easy.

I would do burgers with the fixin's, pasta salad and cake.....chips and salsa too....bottled water and juice for the kids. Simple is good. For everyone. If burgers arent an option a Taco Bar or Nacho Bar is ALWAYS a hit and easy on the pockets.

Someone else had suggested a nacho bar from another one of my boards. What did you have in the nacho bar?

Your LO must be born on the same day as my DD"s. We are having her 3rd b-day party this Sat as well. What have I done in terms of preparation? Well, I do have plates and utensils. :-) We'll have 16 adults and about 7 kids. We'll have it at a park though so the kids can run wild. I plan to order a party tray from Safeway and a cake from them too. I'm too busy to do anything more fancy.
Oh.. at least I got some party favors. I found these water guns at walgreens on clearance for $0.39! I bought ten of them :-)
I forgot to add that the party tray should cost me around $50, Cake $20, drinks & snacks $25. I don't count the water guns ($4!!). :-)
Have fun!!

Water guns is a good idea, I want to keep them entertained, but it is so flippin' hot outside.

I would do seasoned taco meat, refried beans, shredded cheese, sour cream, guacomole, black olives, lettuce and tomato and some salsa and queso....chips....cheap and feeds many! You could also throw in some heated tortilla shells in case people want burritos-thats cheap too!
