I always hear the horror stories about what other mom's kids do and get into, always breathing that sigh of relief, and thinking "Wow, I'm glad my kid didn't do that..."

Well, DD finally did...

So we went out and bought a "Magic Eraser" and I made her clean it up (I helped her out a bit ;))

And, I have got to say.....that "Magic Eraser" really works!!! I am thoroughly impressed. :)

All Praise to the Magic Eraser!! My DS has already done this.. UGH!

Thank goodness we've got magic erasers! I love the second pic with the little smirk on your DD's face "yeah. I did it."

Yes Magic Erasers rock, and they even take Sharpie off a naughty 2yr old,but it left some pretty nasty marks. Yes DH used Magic Eraser on Sophie once, only ONCE

Unfortunately, the magic eraser doesn't work on *everything* that gets put on the wall. My kids think they're artists...and apparently don't care that they're not supposed to mark on the wall. In fact, ds2 thinks it's hilarious!

Awwww... DD did her first wall coloring a little over a week ago. Well, door coloring, actually - she colored the linen closet door. I can't bring myself to wash it off!

It's my baby's first wall coloring, and I want to keep it there forever... Am I crazy?

I love the Magic Eraser since I had three Picasso's, lol. My favourite was when my one daughter tried to blame writing on the wall on my older daughter because it was her name....but she had spelled it wrong so I knew the younger one did it. :giggle:

But, please mama's, be careful letting your LO use them! Sometimes they can really hurt young skin. Although there was a doctored email about this going around awhile back the basic fact that they are abrasive and can cause irritation is true and has caused manufacturers to add warnings about children using them.

To the pp I have heard that as well something to the effect of an allergic reaction resembling a chemical.burn , we don't let the kids play with chemicals/cleaning products or not. I would look into it though if that's the route you want to take , having them clean their mess.

Never tried the magic eraser, but for those of you whose little artists like "softer" canvases, aka, microfiber couches, There is a national chain called "Chem-Dry" They don't use any toxic or harmful chemicals. He came out to my house and in 5 minutes it looked brand new. You can't tell at all there was purple crayon all over the back of it. :goodvibes:

They also sell their products so you can purchase it to keep on hand for just these occassions.

I STILL remember colorign on the wall when I was about 5. My mother handed me the gloves, a bottle of 409 and a sponge and told me to start scrubbing. I scrubbed for 3 days as punishment. But I never colored on the wall again.

My DS is only allowed to have Color Wonder markers, crayons, and paints in the house. Well, one day he smuggled in a piece of hot pink sidewalk chalk from the garage, and decorated my foyer with perfect little snowmen, complete with scarves & hats. I must admit that he's become really good at drawing snowmen. But alas, not even Mr. Clean could get all of the pink chalk off my textured walls. Guess we'll be painting a lot sooner than we though. Oh, guess I should mention that we had only been in this house for about 2 months!

We use color wonder markers here and also those water books (like you use water to make the pages show up). LOL! We have a picasso too, who colored a white wall BLACK once and she also colored all of our lamp shades multicolored. I swear we can't have crayons or colored pencils in our house without problems. LOL!

I LOVE the magic eraser!! My DS wrote on our big screen tv in permanent marker but the magic eraser got rid of it!! I was so happy! And it takes food coloring off my counter when I have dyeing mishaps! :hugs: for magic eraser!! Hehe.
