My favorites are:
Cute Baby Shoes (http://www.cutebabyshoes.com) - soft soled, cute, easy to get on but hard for baby to take off. Unlike other soft soled shoes I've tried, these have a padded sole and it's black to mask dirt better.
I've also tried Shoo-Shoos & Robeez and I like the Cute Baby Shoes better - they seem to hold up a bit better too. I didn't like the way the elastic was at the opening.
PipSqueakers (http://www.pipsqueakers.com) - hard soled, but good to encourage baby to walk as they squeak with each step. My 21 mo old wore them to the playground today - it was much easier to keep up with him! Cute & inexpensive.

I used robeez when my daughter was cruising and also when she was an early walker or for indoors.
When she got to be a better walker and we wanted shoes that held up better for playing outside we really like: See Kai Run shoes. There are a lot of other options out there but I am only going to recommend what I have used. :)
By the way both Robeez and See Kai Run are expensive. If you are on a budget I suggest buying them used. We've had good luck with our local baby consignment shops or you could always check on this site or something like eBay.
Good luck!

Right now DD has a pair of CBS (my "wholesale sample" pair that are currently MIA) and a pair of Stride Rite's (stage 1). The cute baby shoes are nice, but they are showing a LOT of wear and we've only been using them for a couple of weeks (the 6-12m size didn't fit until just recently)
I really like the stride rites for crawling.. they've got soft soles with a rubber grip pattern that even has tread up on the toes, so they give more traction than most soft soled shoes, without being stiff (we have hard floors, and the shoes do seem to make a difference!). They don't cost any more than any other soft shoes either.. about $32.
DD is currently outgrowing the stride rites though.. they're slip-on (not all styles are - some have velcro) and getting difficult to get on so I'm currently trying to decide between a pair of See Kai Run (rubber soles) or PediPeds (leather soles). Both are shaped similarly (and sooo cute!), and I may end up getting both, if my mom gets a pair for DD (she saw squirtymomma's DD in a pair this morning and really liked them).

My 10 month old has been walking for a month, but I still am using robeez. I didn't get mine off the net, I got them at a local baby store, he has really wide feet so I wanted to make sure they fit him well before I dropped a bunch of money on him. I first bought the knock-offs at Target but they fell apart. So since Tony will have a little sibling someday I once again made it okay in my head to spend more money on him since I can use them on the next kid (did that make sense?). But anyways, the robeez have held up pretty well!

We LOVE our pedipeds and they are GREAT for wide feet. Several of their shoes come in wide only. I find these fit better than anything else we've tried. They are a little cheaper than Robeez I think and definitley worth every penny and they hold up great!

DD has always had problems with shoes, her feet are just so wide! We just LOVE our Pedoodles, though! The soles are soft and squishy, yet rugged enough to play outside in, even in the rain. The styles are cute, esp. for boys. It is a shame they don't do co-ops anymore, but i still think they are worth every penny. They are the only ones we have now.

DS wears Shoo Shoos in the 12-18 month size. He's 13 months (ben wearing then since he was 9 months) and he definitely has a little room in them to grow.

I love Robeez! We use them all the way up to 3-4 year old. I have been fortunate to have come across them at garage sales ($3 practically new), Second hand shops in town $8 and finally ebay. I have boughten them new also but I figure I got my monies worth because we used them everyday and my DS outgrew them before he outwore them. He also has see kai run but we use those mostly in winter when it is raining.

We used Robeez on the kis until they were 3 or so. They've had other shoes that were gifts, but I highly recommend any soft shoe over a hard one. For sizing, it varies alot between brands, so you need to measure well igf you can't try them on, and if you can try on as many different brand as you can. Write down the size for each brand...I could never remember which size was right in each brand :) GL!

We only used soft shoies until this week (dd is 22 months).
We used Robeez and similar styles. Then moved her into pedoodles at about 20 months.....they are the exact same as Robeez, but with a very thin flexible rubber sole.....and then this week, dd INSISTED we get a pair of sandals at target. Sigh
I honestly hadn't planned on transitioning to hard shoes quite yet, but dd is ...uummm....opinionated.
LOL.

I would also recommend soft shoes as your DC is learning to walk.
We started with Shoo-shoos which I really liked the selection of styles. To my knowledge, the US dealer went out of business, but you can still find used styles or buy them from other dealers. I liked that these stayed on! But as my DD grew and her feet got fat, I didn't like the marks the elastic left around her ankles. They held up well, so I'm holding on to some of them for the next child.
Next we got Pedipeds. Love these! While Shoo-shoes look like slippers, PP look like mini versions of shoes I would buy. Even though they velcro on, my DD has yet to get them off. (And she has tried!) I like that the black soles don't show as much dirt. But with both Shoo-shoos and Pedipeds, the soles are not waterproof.
Got a used pair of Wiggees and for the larger size, it has a flexible rubber sole. For the cuteness factor, they are not my favorite, but this pair is now her "outside shoe." She was scuffing up the leather soles of Pedipeds and these are holding up well. Still don't like the elastic marks around her ankles, but I'd rather her feet be a little more protected when she plays outside.
When shopping, measure, and then measure again but larger is better. When buying used, keep in mind that some leather styles strech. Ask for measurements if necessary. Have fun! Baby shoes are so cute!
I think I'm going to check out Pedoodles for the fall....

We were using ShooShoos and Carozoos until DD's daycare gave several not-well-hidden hints that they wanted her in more solid shoes. So now she usually wears See Kai Run shoes at daycare (more solid but still a flexible sole). But since she's become a better walker, I started sending her in ShooShoos again. :D

I have to preface this by saying that I am a bit of a shoe nazi because I have foot problems and they run in my family. That said, I did tons of research and only buy my daughter Naturino shoes. They are italian and are made beautifully. They are designed by pediatricians to mimick the walking on sand effect so that they properly form the foot of the child. They are $$$ at the retail stores, but not so much if you find new ones on ebay, or www.naturinooutlet.com , or www.naturinodallas.com . These shoes never wear out. Worth every penny (actually I just bought her 2 new pairs for $15 each on ebay...they retail for $90/pair!) European sizing. Just type in Naturino 20 on eBay and you can see what size that correlates to in US. That's my :2cents:

Check out See Kai Run - VERY similar styling, but they have thin rubber soles :)
I just ordered a pair of Pedipeds and my mom will be getting us a pair of SKR's soonish

I bought my son a pair of soft leather sole and rubber sole sandals from QQ Shoes (http://stores.ebay.com/QQ-SHOES_Infant-Dress-Casual-Shoes_W0QQcolZ2QQdirZ1QQfsubZ5QQftidZ2QQpZ5QQtZkm) on ebay. They are definately worth the price and we have received so many complements on them :mrgreen:The site is not organized that well, so it takes some time to scroll through everything to find the right style and size. Hope this helps!!

I used Stride Rites and got them at an outlet store...I've actually heard that it's better for the kids to learn to walk on thier bare feet...of course you can't do that when you are out and about, but fyi
