so this may be tmi- and it may be the wrong place for the thread- but here I go!!! :)
dd is almost 11 months, and still nursing strong. I havent had a cycle since before she was born, Feb of 06?? but I think that I may be starting my cycle again.
i was wondering what the first cycle is like? i have been discharging for what seems like forever, and i just started having blood streaked discharge. its not a lot of blood- just a little.
is this normal??? :headscratch:

im sure its fine. there is so much variation as to what is 'normal', as we are all different and hormones afffect us all differently.
it sounds like your body is gearing up for the big show, even if you don't get a typical for you) cycle for some time. i had a day or so of spotting every other month for like 6 months before i got my true cycle back, while others don't really get a break and are regular from 6 weeks. there's just no telling.

I'm curious too, because I just got my first one and its wierd. On and off spotting, for a couple of days now. Not really bleeding.

I get mock ones- for MONTHS- as in 6-8 months now (almost 12m PP)- I get O pain then AF cramps all on time and nothing ever comes of it... it's very different for each person. My last was awful- AWFUL. I normally have a 1-2 day AF (lucky me) but it was hell for like 7 days (DS1 was 12 m)

My first few PP cycles were WACK. I got the first one about 10 months PP, and it would be spotting for a few days, then nothing, then a few weeks later I'd get something like a regular period for a day or two, then it'd be gone...this kept up for about 3 months until it finally evened out. I think it's totally normal for the first cycle or two to be weird. Your body's just readjusting to being fertile again.

the average is 12 mths pp. I was 15mt pp w/ds 1 and don't expect it for a while. I have one friend who went over 2 yr... this was not typical and she was a big nurser.
Its the frequency of bfing that keeps it away... so if you find you are nursing less it may appear soon.
For me it was horrible my first pp af... big cramps and like niagra falls. Both are not normal for me...
carry some pads just incase it shows b/c you never know..

My first pp period was VERY HEAVY and not until like between 12-13 months after delivery. And it was also very crampy!:cry: so like the pp every women is different. Nursing plays a big part in it! So I would say don't worry when it is time it will come. The first thing my DR said when I told him was you better get a PG test!:cry: DH got a vas! We were DONE and that scared me to death! We have 4 ...7,5,3,1! Very close in age! needless to stay I finally did start! Good or bad it happened! Now I get to deal with that till menopause woo hoo!
