Hi there,
Just wondering if there are any experiences of Canadian moms wearing their baby at the airport? Did you have to take him/her off at security? Did they let you wear it during take off and landing? The other thread is mostly for USA travel.

As well, any hints or tips. My DS is going to be 3 months and 3 days when we take two flights. Ottawa to Halifax/Halifax to St. John's and we are flying alone, just the two of us.

Thanks!

I have flown from Toronto to Halifax (sometimes through Montreal or Ottawa) with my DD over 15 times so far. We are in Nova Scotia right now for a visit...lol. I have never had to take DD out of her BabyHawk. I just make sure I have nothing metal on me at all, I take off my belt and all of my jewelry and just put in in my purse and put it through the scanner. When you are doing a connecting flight, as long as you stay on the secure side of the airport (the gate area upstairs), you do not have to go through security again in Halifax.

As far as take off and landing, you do have to take your baby out and hold them in the burping position, facing in against your chest/shoulder. (That's the Air Canada way). They should come and talk to you before take-off to brief you on how to hold your baby.

If you have any other concerns, feel free to PM me!:goodvibes:

We are in Regina and have gone to PEI and back 2x. I wore the ring sling (duh, not thinking abou the metal parts) and I had to take it off 2x and got to keep it on while they scanned me with the wand.

Westjet and Air Canada got me to do the burp positon, which I switched to the cradle nursing position as soon as they walked away.

They were really relieved (as if I'd bother fighting ) when they asked about the sling and I said I just take it off for take offs and landings. They must have some moms giving them the gears.
