Ok so I want to see how many mommys took their kids or is going to tonight and who did't. I have been watching the news and there is talk about a drug in pops rocks and people handing it out and kids getting abducted, and sexual preditors stalking groups of kids. Its scray! Halloween is supposed to be fun! Dh says lets just buy candy and to my moms and pretend in the house! Thats not fun! Am I just being way over protective? My daughter is 3 so its not like she will be left alone or anything?

our town had it last night so it wouldn't interupt Church services tonight. We just walked the block in our neighborhood maybe 20 houses in all.

Dh is taking the older 3 kids out in our neighborhood and I'm handing out candy with the baby. :)

We're going to a couple neighbors then we're going to a trunk or treat at our church then we'll go and visit mine and dh's parents.
I'm not so worried now about those sort of things because we usually only go to people's houses we know and I will be there at all times. When they're young I'll be right with them and when they're older I'll probably be in the car next to them and hopefully nothing bad will ever happen.
When do you think is too old for a child to trick or treat?

Well we bought Evan a costume, but we're not sure if we're going out yet.
He's still pretty young (21 months) and it's supposed to rain this evening. If it doesn't then we'll probably go out just to a few houses, people we know. If it rains then we're not going to bother. So I voted 'other'...

We will be going out, but won't really be trick or treating. K isn't allowed to have candy yet. But I think that he will enjoy seeing all the kidlets dressed up.

We're going to a church party. My DS is only 10 months old, so I'm not thrilled about him eating candy. He's my first, so I worry about everything, and I'm concerned about DS eating food given to him by strangers. I don't agree with everything normally celebrated on Halloween, but how could I resist dressing him up like a little tiger and parading him around!
Oh yeah, I think this is a little too old, but the last time I went trick or treating with my friends I was about 13 years old.

DD#1 is not quite 3 year, and she's already hyper and bouncing off the walls. I can only imagine what a bag full of candy would do. :afraid:
She's currently combing the run with two of her combs .............
ETA: And she's deathly afraid of all moving displays or "scary" masks.

We normally take the kids out, but this year we have to stay in. Looks like we will just be handing out candy this year.

That reminds me... today I went to Wal-Mart and my DS (just turned 3) was shaking hands w/the skeleton/witch scary thing that is as big as very tall man and laughing. I was like, "well, glad that doesn't bother him!"
Oh, and I handed out candy but my DS didn't go out. It just didn't work out tonight w/all that we had going on.

we went to a local shopping outdoor shopping mall. it was crazy packed and my husband couldn't handle it. i think we stopped at like 5 stores. and our DS is so sick with a cold he should probably not have left the house. he could have cared less, he was so tired. we got home at 6 and he wouldn't eat dinner, he just kept saying "nigh night". so we skipped doing the nieghborhood, which we really only do for the elderly neighbors who love seeing the kids in their costumes.

We end to a few apartments on a walk (cuz ppl were outside to hand out candy), then we went to the mall to trick or treat. :) My kids loved it, and now I have lots of candy. :)

We went. I keep most of the candy anyway. :giggle: DS has a fair go at it, and then when he goes to bed I put the rest away.
Mine is terrified of moving Halloween things too. And skeletons. Every house that had a skeleton, he wouldn't want to go near. We stopped by my workplace on our way home and the boss's wife had a dancing Frankenstein doll by the cash register, and he totally freaked out. It's funny and sad at the same time!

Most of the church here have festivals. The kids loved jumping in those inflatables and playing games, etc.
