I had one last year that lasted in my garage until Feb/March.

They can last quite a while, actually. I had a little pumpkin that didn't start to go bad until the following spring. Once they start to spoil the sides will get squishy. Just check it once in a while and if you find a soft spot then it's getting time to throw it away. In the meantime, try not to bruise it because that will start it rotting.

Oh good, so the mini-pumpkins on our table don't need to be transformed into pumpkin bread anytime very soon.

Our jack-o-lantern rotted in record time this year. We carved it around the 10th, and about 1.5 weeks later I had to throw it away because it was totally black. :yuck: STupid warm weather!

Oh and our local ice cream bar has pumpkin ice cream around this time of year. It's sooooooooooo freakin' good. OMG. Your brain will melt in ecstasy.

I love chai smoothies for this reason too, they taste like pumpkin pie.

:goodvibes: hehe we got 2 pumpkins this year...one for the 3 year old to help carve and the other for the baby to eat.....well...this pumpkin ended up being white on the inside, but is still very yummy....we made 2 pies, 2 things of pumpkin bread, and just some pureed pumpkin for the baby...and I STILL have 2 cups left in the freezer of pureed pumpkin:lostit:

Here is a great step by step with pictures to walk you through making homemade pumpkin puree! i use it to make pumpkin bars or pumpkin bread or pumpkin pie. My DD also loves to eat it just like it is! Also i sprinkle a bit of cinnamon onto the pumpkin before turning it upside down to bake it! It is uber ymmmy!!! Danni

We just love pumpkins ATM.

I make stews, soups, pureč and sometimes I just steam them.
Luckily my MIL grows her own so we have a huge stock of them :) and they are organic too.
