I have no unearthly idea what to get my DH for Christmas. :headscratch:

He always asks for the most unusual and off the wall gifts. I usually buy them for him and then they end up just sitting around. I would love to get him something he would actually enjoy.

This is the thing he asked for this year: http://www.firehelmetcam.net/index.cfm?section=1

He is a firefighter, a driver at a busy firehouse. He likes to deer hunt. He enjoys playing dominos and poker on the computer (entertainment only against the computer :goodvibes: ) He used to enjoy playing golf but hasn't played in a very long time.

I'm really afraid if I spend $160.00 on this helmet cam thing it will end up being wasted money. To be honest the city he works in has very few fires. The majority of their calls are accidents and medical calls. I was talking to one of the other wives and we were asking ourselves what exactly the guys are going to film? I doubt they will be filming the back of the ambulance during a medical call ?

So please ladies give me some ideas! I really have no clue what to get him.

Thanks! :goodvibes:

You said he enjoys golf, but hasn't gone in a long time. How about getting him a gift certificate for 18 holes. I'm not sure how much you spend on each other, but if it's more then that you could just increase the certificate so that it could cover the price of taking a friend or be used for several trips.

I got my DH a golfing GC one year and he enjoyed it because not only could he golf one day when we really didn't have the extra cash, but it was like I was giving him athe go-ahead to have an afternoon with the guys.

If you can afford it, get him the thing he wants. Isn't his happiness more important than if he uses it or not? Seriously, he thinks this 'toy' will make him happy, so go for it. It's worth a try. Maybe he can re-sell some of the older gifts if he no longer finds them interesting.

I agree with pp about the golfing. I think $160 is a lot to spend on something you don't think he's even going to use. Does he still have golf clubs ? Maybe you could give him a gift certificate to a golf shop or golf course that also has a shop in it.

Id be hesitant about getting something I doubt he would use as well, especially at 160.00. Does he camp out when he hunts? You could get him some camping gear. Or a nice set of dominos so he can play when they are sitting around waiting on calls in the fire house.
