Holy bajolies! I have family in Clarksburg/Summit Park. My cousin is the pastor at the Summit Park Baptist Church and my best friend IRL is the theft prevention officer at Sears in the Meadowbrook Mall! We live in Ohio but we're there occassionally...it used to be more frequently until we had DS.

We visit Charleston, Parkersburg and Canaan valley a lot to see family and friends. I am glad to see other West Virginians here..

wow! surprised to see so many WV mamas here! cool!

i'm in Hampshire County, in the Potomac Highlands. I'm not *too* far from Berkeley Springs - probably like 40 minutes. Which out here is as close as you're likely to get LOL

And speaking of Falling Water, my DH grew up in Marlow, his dad and gma still live in Berkeley Co - Hedgesville.

I grew up in Morgantown, still visit occasionally since my dad lives there. We visit Elkins a lot too since my mom is there.

We are about an hour and a half away (I think) so we might try and make it.

It is a lot of fun. But be warned, there is a lot of booze. I am ok with having my kiddos there, there are bands, food, and venders.

Hi mamas,
I never imagined there would be so many WV mamas on here, I live in Huntington and my sis lives in Hurricane. If you guys ever set a play date let me know I'd love to meet up. Anyone know of any good mommy and me type classes in the area. My DD is 13 months and I've been looking to get her in some kind of activity. Thanks!

Oh, this thread makes me so happy.
I'm originally from winfield (Fraziers bottom, actually) although currently we're in Richmond, Va. I'm trying to so hard to get my hubby on board with us moving back. (all my family is still in hurricane, St. Albans, Teays Valley......)
We're looking at Hurricane right now and would more than likely buy our first house! yippee.
If we come that way I definitely wanna organize some play groups!!!

I ordered some diapers off ebay called Nubunz. They seem like really good quality diapers, very much like Bum Genius 3.0. After I got the package I noticed they were shipped form Eleanor, WV, it's between Huntington and Charleston. Their website, nubunz.com, says they have a store. Has anyone been there? I was wondering what else they sell like carriers or other types of cloth dipes.

Oh man I use just moved in Jan from M town I can not believe how much I miss it!!! I am so bummed out that they put a store in after I left. :banghead: I always thought it would be a great business in that area bc all the moms I knew in the breastfeeding support groups cded there children. I am glad I had my DS there bc I felt as if I had a great support system from all the wonderful mommas. They are the reason I cded, I knew nothing about it before hand lol and I was able to do extended breast feeding. :giggle:

Before I had my 1st on sept 15th 2007 I started going to the meetings. I never been around breastfeeding moms and I wanted to do it soooooooo bad. I do not know how but my mother found the number somewhere and I called and started going to the meetings. If you pm me I can email you the email address of the "leader." I believe they meet at the wilkes center on the 2nd thursday of each month but that may have changed. I would however be extremely jealous bc I have not found a group where I live now yet :giggle:

There is a relatively new parents group called WV Mountain Sprouts, one of the main girls is getting a local Le Lache Club started up, but I'm not sure what they are called right now. Her name is Kristy. I think she has been working with someone through Mon General.
Check us out on Yahoo Groups. We have a meeting this Thursday at 5pm. Halloween party. We meet at the new wellness center out in Westover. Let me know if your interest in more info on them and I can get it to ya.

Heidi, it definitely helps to be around other women who breastfeed. LLL has been a great support to me! I didn't realize Morgantown didn't have a group going - hopefully that will come to fruition soon. You may want to pick up a copy of The Breastfeeding Mother's Guide to Making More Milk. I understand it has great info on BFAR and here is the companion site: http://www.bfar.org/ You can do it, mama!

Megan, I assume the CD store is not you, then? I can't believe I was home last weekend and didn't know about it. I thought the closest B&M was in Sewickley. Where is it in Motown? I got some Thirsties covers and they are really nice - they fit Isaiah so well! Do you think you'll be carrying Thirsties? You know I'd rather get them from you, if I can!
