I was hoping someone would be able to answer my question. I seem to be having an allergic reaction to something. I have no idea what but I would like to take some benedryl or some other antihistimine but I am not sure if you can take those when your breastfeeding. If anyone could help me out I would appriciate it the left side of my face is swelling and itching like mad.

this is a useful list of medications and whether or not they're approved for breastfeeding: http://www.kellymom.com/health/meds/aap-approved-meds.html

you may have to read some labels to figure out the active ingredients in things, but this is very helpful.

Heres a better site...straight from Dr. Hale himself :)

I was reading the kellymom site for a long time before finding Hales online forum.

Dr. Hales' site is awesome.

http://www.safefetus.com/ is really easy to use and lists breastfeeding as well as pregnancy risks.
