Is there a big diff between the BBLP and the BB Potty chair?

Can I get away with just buying one? What do you use? I am EC'in a 3.5mo chunky monkey

we only used the bblp, even at 13 months when we got a second one she wasn't tall enough for the bigger one. dd will still want to use it sometimes, though it is a little shallow for her now. it was always fine with her very fat thighs.

i have been told the big one is better for boys, but i don't remember why :headscratch:

For a LO that small, I would stick with the BBLP. We have both and DS didn't start using the bigger one until he was closer to a yr (10 mos maybe). The BBLP is more squatty, closer to the ground and narrower. We use the bigger one now and keep the BBLP in the van for when we are out and about.

The reason that some have found the bigger one better for boys is because, if not positioned correctly or if you have a DS that has forceful pees, he can sometimes squirt out of the BBLP. The bigger potty has a sheild that sticks up a bit higher in front.

My guy is 26 pounds at 9 months, and pretty tall, with a big caboose and fat legs - so he didn't fit the BBLP at all when we got it at 6 months - his pee-pee would hang over the front of the splashguard! We got a BB potty chair, and it still shoots over the front if we don't position him just right. His feet do touch the ground. The BBLP is is shorter, so I think it's better IF your baby fits it! You can always resell or trade if it doesn't fit (that's what we did).

Thanks so much for those pics! I was trying to figure out which one to get for my 17lb shorty 10mo old to start working on ec-ing and i think i'll go with the little one, its only $10 after all so thats not bad if we only use it for a few months!

at 7 months and 18 1/2 pounds, Marissa fits the potty chair great. She looks so cute when she relaxes on the potty with an arm tossed over the backrest...

At around 20 months my son preferred the BBLP, at around 2 yrs. he liked the BBLP for pee & the BB potty chair for poop (he had both side by side at that point). Now (2 yrs., 5 months) he only uses the BB potty chair, though he uses the BBLP as the emergency car potty. I would totally go for the BBLP if I were you. They have good resale value, so it won't be so bad if/when you size up.
