I don't think I'm officially EC'ing, but my 16 mo ds has been using the potty semi-regularly for about 4 months. He (we) have been doing really well lately and I just ordered him some small trainers to try to make trips to the potty easier. My problem now is all I have is onsies and it's a pain to have to unsnap them to use the toilette and then tuck it out of the way so it doesn't get wet. I looked at Target and Walmart today for 18 mo size undershirts but I didn't have any luck. I found some Gerber ones on the internet but it would cost over $22 for 6 which seems a bit steep. Any ideas?

TIA

you could cut and stitch up the onesies.. thats what we did for my DD who is 4 months old. DS, who is 20 months old, just runs around in any t-shirt and bare bottomed.

you could try the hanes 2t-3t shirts as they fit kind of snug, but they have lap shirts through dharma trading. Or you can get regular t-s through old navy right now for under $4 a piece.

I would alter the onsies, but I don't have a serger and I don't think I'd be able to do a decent job with my machine.

I have some 2T/3T undershirts for my older boys and they are huge on him. Thanks for the tip about Dharma. I just ordered some shirts plus found something else I'd been looking for.

Glad you found them. I know a board doing a American Apparel co op, you can get them through there too.

I took pinking shears to my onesies. It worked great no sewing required. Just cut right above the leg openings.

Jersey material (like T-shirts) don't fray, so no serging is required! You don't even need to stitch it, though it may roll.
