Tie-dyed prefolds

I made these with some little prefolds I got from FSOT. I dyed them with a Procion dye kit available at Michael's. Here's the thread about that: http://www.diaperswappers.com/forum/showthread.php?t=350219

I'm pretty pleased with how they turned out. Next time I would use hotter water and keep them a bit warmer overnight. Procion dyes need temps higher than 70 degrees to react well and we keep our house cooler than that. Everything looks true, except for the red. I did the solid color prefolds with whatever dye I had left after tye-dyeing. They are diluted with more water and came out much lighter. I was just happy to be able to dye all 12 with just the one kit!

I was just thinking the same thing about the prefolds! I tie dyed 9 dozen prefolds back in October and agree that mine should have been warmer too. Yours look great! What kind of prefolds are they?

I believe they are chinese. The stitching is bright green. They are tiny..and measure 9 x 11.5 I don't think they are the green stitch ones from GMD. I have some of those coming any day now. I'm sending a few to Tinkletraps to be coverted to prefitteds. The others will probably end up being used as burp cloths.

I dyed a few more! I finally got the rest of my dyes and tools out of the basement. I had a lot more leftover from previous Dharma orders than I thought. Here are the results! I love how the chinese red is a true red compared to the fuschia red in the tie-dye kit. The fuschia red is good for mixing, though.
