Hi!

I am in Pgh! I would love to meet some other DS moms. My littlest guy is only 2.5 months -- but if the older kids are out of school they love a playground day!

There are a bunch of us. I tried to get a group together at the center for creative play the begining of feb, but only Maggie (burgh baby gear) showed. I'd love to try again. But not the ccfcp as it closed yesterday

I'm in Edgewood - where are you mamas?

Hello, ladies. :)

I'm Keli. I'm a SAHM to our daughter, Isabella, who will be 2 in July. We are TTC baby #2. I live east of Pittsburgh. I joined this group to find some info on cloth diapering. We used disposables with Isabella, but I'd like to try cloth now. I look forward to talking to you all.

I am in the city. In Lawrenceville. I can't during the week since I run an in-home daycare.

I was so totally going to go, but I was running so late that day. By the time we finished breakfast it was too late. :(

Hi fellow Burgh mamas! ;) I'd love to get together with you if someone's arranging something. It's been a long and lonely winter here, hasn't it? I'm glad we can finally go to the park and get outside again!

Subbing to this thread...

We should meet at the Blue Slide Park at Frick Park on Beechwood Dr. It's got the toddler town area for the littler ones and bigger stuff for the big ones!

Now to predict a sunny Sat or Sun in the 'burgh.....:giggle:

Hey 'Burgh Mamas! I'm new to the area, and even newer to DS. I'd love to get together, during the week works best for me, but I could do some weekends, too. We live in the north suburbs (Hampton). DS is 5.5 mo, and a real social baby.

When are we getting together? I'm new to the area. Does anyone have an address, or intersection for the suggested park?

I wondered if everyone could bring a spare of their favorite diaper to pass around. It's so frustrating to not be able to see/touch/hold any of these brands before buying them off the internet. Even if sites offer refunds, you still pay shipping, and spend lots of time busy mamas don't have to waste! Maybe we could show 'n tell with babycarriers, too.

Welcome! :)

The suggested park is on Beechwood Boulevard, close to Forward Avenue (I think it's across from Nicholson?). It's a block away from Colfax Elementary School, in Squirrel Hill. It's very close to the Squirrel Hill parkway exit, if you're driving from the suburbs.

Not sure when we're meeting yet. The Pittsburgh Mothers' Center will be starting up our park days soon - every friday around lunch time. We often meet at that park, too. Maybe we can make it a combined event? We have a lot of CDing/babywearing mamas in the PMC, and some are DS mamas :)

I love the idea of a dipe show-and-tell!

Cool! Pittsburgh mamas! I've felt so lonely...none of my friends in my area cloth diaper or babywear. It's nice to see that there are others in the area! I'd love to meet up! I live in the south hills. I have a 2 year old and a 4 month old.

Welcome! :) Yup - you woulldn't believe how many CDing/babywearing mamas you'll find in the Burgh! There's a great yahoo group (where I met most of my mama friends...). It's http://groups.yahoo.com/group/PghMamasNetwork/

When I first had DD#1 almost 6 years ago, I had no mama friends at all and was very lonely. It's such a big transition, and it's even harder when your style is different than the mainstream. I totally understand what you're saying! :goodvibes: It's so nice now to know lots of people online and in "real life" who share some of my parenting values and parenting style.

Maggie - thanks for pointing me here!

I would love to meet up with all of you, I live in Avalon and we just found out we're expecting our first in December! Still kind of freaked out about it all :-) But I'm trying to figure out cloth diapers b/c I know that's what I want to use, I think I want to sew my own...there are just way too many options out there!! So a chance to see all of the different options would be great :-)

Hi ladies! It's so cool to see Pittsburgh moms here! I'm relatively new to DS and another board I was on there was no one anywhere close to me. I see a few of you have littles ones around my kids ages too which is awesome! I would definatly love to be part of a meet up!

HI! I'm very new to CDing. My DS turned one on friday. From reading this thread, it sounds like there isn't anywhere in the area to physcially see/touch/play with diapers prior to purchasing? I've done a little online searching...
Thanks!
Oh and I live in McCandless.

so sad about cfcp!!! I'm in Regent square too:thumbsup: I'd love to meet up with you all. I try to remember PMC's get togethers but pretty much always end up forgetting or not making it.

Wednesday mornings my ds's and I are almost always at the playground on braddock and forbes. Or the "telephone" playground at the wilkins school.

Happy Mother's Day (a little early :) ) to all the Pittsburgh mamas! I wanted to let you know that the Pittsburgh Mothers' Center will be having our monthly meeting this Wednesday (5/14) at the Second United Presbyterian Church in Wilkinsburg (just on the edge of Regent Square). Everyone is welcome, and we'd love to meet you!

We're having a discussion group at 6:00 pm led by one of our members about "following your instincts as a parent." It's very casual. We just sit in a small circle and chat about things. Then, at 7:00 we have our general business meeting. There will be snacks, and there is a toy room connected to our room where kiddos can play. Kids are always welcome (like I said, we're very casual :D ) We will be discussing upcoming social events (a possible trip to Trax Farms, various get-togethers, park days, etc), as well as the usual business.

We're a very open and eclectic group, and a lot of us CD. We'd love to meet you!

Here's our site:

Please PM me if you'd like more info :)
