Originally we really really wanted a boy, but then when we got our ultrasound we were told with pretty much 100% certainty it was a girl. Now we have our hearts soooooo set on this girl its crazy. We are really thrilled!

On the ultrasound we got a full butt and back thigh shot. nothing there whatsoever, even I could see that and I always have problems discerning the shapes on those things. a front shot, though more body parts were visable and made it hard for me to see, made the doctor still sure it was a girl.

so, though i would be happy with whatever im blessed with, we are prepared for a girl on all fronts. as I am on a very tight budget I have made sure to get deals where I can ahead of time on little girls clothes (craigslist) in bundles, and though some could be gender neutral, alot are pink...

So Ill admit Im paranoid, but I have heard some stories, and I just wanted to know what other peoples experiences in this dept. are... This is my first baby, so it is all very new to me and I dont want to be suprised on delivery day! Do you usually get another ultrasound at some point prior to the birth to "check on things" so to speak? if so when?

100% sure this is a boy. Kind of hard to pass this off as something else :)

My last u/s was hard to tell but when we got a "between the legs" shot, we could see it was a boy but the tech turned on the colors to verify which was the cord and which was the penis :giggle: That verified it for us :)

We're not 100% sure with this one. We have another US coming up though.

But, with DD I started having dreams it was a boy and by that time I had NOTHING GN. Everything was very girly, very pink, very floral. LOL I had another US at 23 weeks to make sure. Sure enough...girl! And, she is still a girl to this day. hehe

With #1 (13 years ago) they didn't tell in fear of being wrong. I did get in a car accident about a month or so before he was due. The tech slipped and said "she's fine". My doc said the results said nothing of gender. We think because she had girls she just referred to babies as "she".

With #2 they said girl at 18 weeks and showed us what looked like hamburger buns (3 lines) and sure enough she was a girl every ultrasound after that. To this day girl!

With #3, I seent he infamous 3 lines and knew for certain. 1 more ultrasound also showed a girl and sure enough we had another girl.

This time there was no doubt a penis. As skeptical as I was and wanted to be (I had my mind set it was another girl) there was no mistaking that penis.

With DS we were told boy! And yes he was a boy.

This u/s she didn't want to give it up! She sat yoga-style through most of it, then at the end the tech said, it looks like a girl.. she couldn't give a percentage though! I was bummed, because we were so sure with the first, now it's like..um...do I even buy pink? Which she told us to just keep the receipts.:giggle: Luckily, we're having another u/s in about a month, doc didn't get a good view of the heart. I started buying pink anyway, because I felt like it was a girl before the u/s...and all the girly fluff is hard to turn down after having a boy!

here are our little boy pieces shot for this pregnancy.. Gage was too active to get one that anyone could tell what it was.. lol .. im pretty sure it's a boy though.. cause during the scan there were many better shots of this area that the tech didnt print out.

All of the u/s I've had after 13 weeks have been accurate with all of my kiddos. My current dr who I also used with my younger 2 boys always thinks I'm having girls at 12 weeks though, lol. By a few weeks later the penis is unmistakable, but I still have him double check every time just to be safe.

Ours is a girl, and we could even tell from the u/s. If it's a boy I will be SHOCKED!

Some docs only do additional ultrasounds if there is some need. My doctor only does one at 20 weeks. Of course, if you want to be sure, you could schedule another one yourself at one of those freestanding ultrasound places that offer 3D scans and such. We didn't find out gender with DS so cannot speak to what things looked like for him but for this one the shot from the bottom up showed perfectly smooth between the legs, nothing at all like the boy shots people have already posted. It was hard to think about it being a girl, especially since we purposefully didn't find out last time, but my doc has never been wrong because he won't tell someone what he thinks unless he is 100% sure, so I am trusting he is right again!

We had another US at 24 weeks - we're 1340349320% sure it's a boy.

i've never had an ultrasound be wrong. this time i'm super confident it's a girl because i had 2 3D ultrasounds as well. all of them said the same thing. i would be stunned if it was a boy!
