I was taking the cover off our Boulevard and noticed a little crack in the styrofoam behind the headrest. I pulled a tad and a whole side broke off
Did I just totally ruin it? How important is that foam? ANything I can do to repair it? I'm sure Britax will charge $100 for a new piece of foam
HELP!

I would call Britax and ask them. How old is it? You could also ask at carseat.org - I know this issue has come up before, but I can't remember what the consensus was.

How old is your seat? Britax will replace it free under warranty (1 year)! You can order a new piece if it's over a year old, but their prices & shipping can get expensive!
You can tape it back together (as long as you have all of the pieces)! It only has to be in place to do its job! You can use plain ol' packing tape!

Ooh! I just looked it up. I bought them on May 4th of last year from Baby Universe! :lostit:
Who do I call about it? Britax or Baby Universe?
Great to know I can tape it in the meantime. I didn't know if it was like a bike helmet--when the foam's cracked, it has to be replaced. We have 2 of these seats, but next week I start back w/ my daycare baby and I don't want either of them any less protected.
I knew I'd get good info from DS mamas. TY!!

You would need to call Britax. This happened to another mom on here a while back...seems like they even over nighted it to her....I could be wrong though. But, I do know that you need to call Britax!

Call Britax. They told me it was safe to use it that way just to stick the piece back in there but since my seat was under warranty, they'd send out another piece.
somehow, the order got screwed up and they didnt and when I called back, they offered to overnight it to me.
they were really good about the whole thing.

Oh, that's awesome. I'll contact them now. I was totally beating myself up over breaking it, knowing how expensive these suckers are. Plus I kind of have a crush on my Boulevards. They're the best car seats EVER! I'd def. ride in one if my big behind would fit in there :)
ETA: Crappers, their CS just closed. Will try again Monday. And apparently I've been pronouncing Britax wrong (should be bri--as in bright-tax. I've always said bri-as in Brittain-tax. The more you know...)

Yeah...I pronounce it wrong too. I actually remember reading a thread about the right way to say things once and realized I was saying it wrong. But, since I almost never say it out loud it's still "said" wrong in my brain most of the time!

There's a new foam piece on its way to me for free! Yay!
While I was on a roll, I called Radio Flyer about the canopy on DD's wagon (pole snapped w/in a month of having it...but that was like a year ago). They, too shipped one for free :lostit:
