I was due May 3, but he arived last saturday, April 5th.
I had been having contractions for 3 weeks, and had to go in for monitoring twice a week. I also had a pain in my lower abdomen near my previous c section scar, and it was burning pretty badly. My OB decided that the risk of the scar opening up was pretty good, snd did an ultrasound to clarify. I was scheduled for the next morning to have my beautiful baby boy.
That afternoon, we arranged for my Mom and sister to come & help with my 2 and 4 year old for the next morning, and we were on the way!
Judah was born at 9:24 am, weighed 6lbs 7 1/2 oz, and was 19 1/2 inches long. Immediately I knew something was wrong. I asked my husband what was wrong, and he said "everything will be fine, honey". Before I was sewn back up, the nurses took Judah out of the room, and put him on oxygen. He had a deflated left lung and was struggling to breathe. He has been in the NICU now for almost a week. I haven't left the hospital yet (except to get lunch once today with DH and the rest of the fam). And I cried. I'm sure we will all be home soon. he is completely off the CPAP (the breathing machine), and now has a nasty case of jaundice, along with a rapid respiratory rate. I now he will pull through quickly. He is such a strong little guy! Here is a pic of DH, Judah & I, (a 10 second break from the mask -hence the red face-while we got a pic)
Thanks for letting me share my story!
