I am looking at buying a "new to me" car sometime soon. The car that I have been interested in is a Volswagen Passat GLS. My concern though is that once I put both carseats(Regent and Roundabout) in that I still won't have room for another person to fit in the back w/ the kids. Right now I have DS1 in the regent in the middle and DS2 rf in the roundabout behind the passenger seat.
Any experiance w/ the car would be a huge help.
Thanks!

We have a 2001 Passat. I don't think there is any way you will get the Regent in the middle, and with it on the side it would be a very tight squeeze in the middle. We've been able to fit 3 seats in the back, but it was really tough and none were as wide as the Regent. Sorry to bring you bad news!
On the upside, my dh drives ours to work and gets 35+ mpg on his commute.

I have a Jetta and have a Regent (behind driver) and Marathon (behind pass, RFing) back there with very little space between them. An adult or child wont fit between. Do you need that extra seat?
I know with a Nautilus and Marathon I can fit a person or another Carseat between them.

Oh man, that is disappointing...I have an suv now and cannot fir anyone in the backseat w/ the kids...I am really hoping to get soemthing w/ a little more room. I do love how the Gas mileage sounds though...hmm.
Does anyone have any experiance w/ either a Taurus wagon(sp) or a Mercury Sable.

I had a Passat VR6 and now have a Jetta GLS.
In the Jetta I have a Regent behind the driver seat and RF Decathlon on the passenger side. There is no room for anyone in between them.
One of my friends bought my Passat so I checked the seats before posting.
Um, it has a tad bit more space then my Jetta, but I still don't see a third seat or person fitting back there.

I forgot to add that I also don't see how either carseat would work in the middle.
I have them set at each side of the door with the empty space in the middle.......well not empty, DS1 usually has a little basket of toys and books next to him:goodvibes:

you could always get a Mazda Five! The otional third row means you'd have room for two passengers in the back! And when you're not using the seats, they fold down and are perfect for diaper changes and groceries!
I LOVE my Mazda Five! The mpg is much better than most SUVs and minivans (23-27).

My mom has a mazda 5 and I love it but I really like the wagons for some reason:giggle:
