with Gage i had already gotten rid of all of Allison's baby things and he was a boy and she was a girl.. so we got to start new with Gage.. which was fun but already knew things we didnt need after having bought them for Allison cause some magizine said we needed it.. lol :giggle:


this time around i have NONE of Gage's baby gear cept carseat and pack and play LITE ( small bassinet sized one )

i am going to buy a sit and stand stroller, bouncy seat as far as " bigger things" but i plan to find the bouncy seat second hand and would be AWESOME if i could find the stoller 2nd hand too.. but not holding my breathe..


but was just wondering.. what everyone else is wanting.considering as far as Gear,furniture

We haven't gotten rid of anything from our girls yet, so there's really nothing we need except boy clothes and diapers since DH doesn't want his "little man" wearing pink. Which is funny since DH wears a pink shirt that says, "Only real men wear pink." :giggle:

my ds was almost 6 when i found out i was pregnant. I had a few things left over. So far I bought everything i wanted the 1st time but didn't get.

1. cloth diapers
2. cosleeper
3. boppy (found for a few dollars at thrift store)
4. electric breast pump (got for free from sister)
5. clothes (got rid of it all from 1st preg)

i'm starting over because of the space b/t my kids. car seats from 1st babe are expired. strollers broke. i never used the changing table. I never used the crib. I hated the bjorn b/c it was a pain in the *** to put on so i got a sling. So i guess i learned the 1st time that 70% of the stuff folks tell you that you need you never use.

I have NOTHING! Our super plan was to wait until DD was about 5 years old to have another. We made it about half way to that - so that's good. But, I got rid of EVERYTHING. Mostly because we had literally NO space at all (our living arrangements SUCKED). So to be able to have room for the other stuff we needed I sold it all.

Anyway, all I kept was the Pack N Play. So, I have that. And, baby boy will be in that in our room for probably the first 9 months.

And, since this kid is for sure a boy - and I had a girl prior and everything she had was absolutely frilly, pink flowery, girly goodness it wouldn't be able to be reused anyway.

So, I need all the big ticket items. Car seat being one. LOL My Gma is buying that for us.
Bouncer
Breast Pump - still debating on this though. I only used it for DD for the first 3 months or so. We'll see.
Baby bath tub/towels
Clothes. Lots of clothes.
Pouch and wrap carriers
Some sort of storage for all of said baby clothes.
I really want a Ultra Light Sit N Stand - but we'll probably wait until baby is older to get it.

I am trying to keep it all to the minimum of what we'll only REALLY need. We have a little more space now, but not much. And, with DD I had SO MUCH STUFF it was crazy, and it all did not get used.

I am having a baby shower next week. I am flying home to visit family and my Mom is throwing me a little thing. So, I am hoping to score big and not really have to pay out of pocket for much. :mrgreen:

We need a new car seat, a pack and play (we don't have one) although we intend on cosleeping, I would one for naps in my office so I can work without worrying that DS is sitting on the baby.
We want a double stroller and we need a crib since DS is still in his crib.
And we are buying a changing table. I used a bureau for DS and it's not really good for cloth diapers, I want something with shelves so I can put baskets in it.
That's it really - newborn and smalls diapers of course, since we jumped into CDing straight to mediums.

I'd advise against buying a car seat on craigslist. You just never know the actual condition of the seat. IMO, that is ONE thing you should buy new. Unless you can get it from a trusted friend or family member and you KNOW the seat hasn't been compromised at all.

we bought a set for gage crib and changing table/dresser thing... but since gage climbs out of it like a pro.. he's getting a firetruck toddler bed and baby is moving to the crib.. and we are getting another dresser (probably from my grandmother ) for gage's things... and baby can use the changing table.. since we are turning gages room into sleeping room for the boys, moving all toys to the play room and moving 6YO DD's toys to her room since they have small peices and arent baby safe anyway..

this is our first and I am a super skeptic on buying ANYTHING as is dh. We havent bought anything but our stroller/infant seat, which I got for $50... its all been gifted or given as a hand-me-down from family... SO far she has coming to her (got to get from next door-main house) or gma:

bouncy seat
swing
pack and play w/bassinet and changing table extension
breast pump
boppy
crib that converts to toddler bed
rocking chair (from dhs mom, same one she rocked him in when he was a baby)

she will be in the bassinet for a while, and then I have to buy a mattress for the crib. I sew alot, so I will be sewing a sling for her to match the diaper bag I have sewn...

i will get her a saucer if gma doesnt (shes already upset we have bought the stroller leaving her with nothing of much expense to get...haha) and an activity gym. I feel bad she doesnt really have any "toys" yet. but we have a while before she will *need any-- like teething toys and etc. There are a couple well meaning stuffed animals that our friends have gotten for her when at disneyland and etc. Dh is already working on building her a rocking horse and dollhouse from scratch for when shes older... but hes a perfectionist so hes starting early...:)

I dont really need much this time since its another boy :giggle: I would love a swing and a rocking chair but those are extras and not needed so they will wait. I already have pretty much everything else especially since all the boys are born in the same month I dont even need new cloths (even though my moms already bought some :giggle:) All my money is going to wool and cloth diapers :lostit:

Just thought of something I do need more pads for my bras so Im not soaking wet all the time :giggle:

We have pretty much everything. The only thing needed is a new infant carseat, then a convertable a little later on. I did buy a new stroller, but I have been wanting a nice one and would have bought it regardless of having a new baby or not. And we've been using it. But I did put the winter boot thing it came with away for the baby :giggle:

Other than that, after two boys, we're set for a third. Which is pretty cool as it means I can buy fun stuff like wool and clothing. And I guess the clothing we do need, since this baby will be exaclty oppoisite in seasons as my first two.

We are going to paint the baby's room. I'm using the same bedding set as with my last, but he'll be in a different room and the paint doesn't match the set. Does a gallon of paint count? lol. And along those lines, we are also finishing the extra room downstairs for a playroom, since the baby will take over the current playroom. So really, this kid is costing us a ton! lol :goodvibes:

socks are the first thing i bought lol before knowing the sex... i LOVE little teeny baby socks.. i just passed on our girly ones or i would send them to you " adrocks" just incase..

Anyway, after having a girl we need a lot this time. We got rid of everything after #1 then again after #2. This time we kept what we could but most is uber girlie.

I gave my stroller to my mom and bought a Sit and Stand ~ love it! Our old stroller I hated (bought it used) and honestly never really used much. Since I can't wear both little ones I think a stroller will get mroe love this time around.

The kids broke the bouncy seat so that will get replaced soon (it had been through 3 kids).

Our swing sucked (again bought used) so I donated it and am debating getting a new one. Still split on that decision.

Bought a bassinet at a mom2mom sale (last time used the top of the pack n play but I really missed having a bassinet). Totally like new and a newer (07) model.

Need a new carseat as ours expired. This will be bought in May sometime.

We still have the crib, the tot lock chair (our form of a high chair), the doorway jumper, the pack n play, the baby papasan seat and the boppy (though I did buy a new cover).

I have had to buy all new clothes and such as ours is girlie girl. I have found about 1/2 at the resale shop though and am making some too. Towels and most socks though were gn as well as 3 bibs, 1 blanket and 2 burp cloths.

All new NB dipe stash as ours was sold to fund mediums. That's set. Also had a bunch of woolies made, set there as well. I am making up some interlock soaker sets for cuteness factor.

Well since this is our first child, we are having to buy everything. My husband is Military and we've just moved back to the states in January,after 5 years overseas. We bought several things in Germany before we left, including a really nice ABC Design Pram, some clothes, toys, and a changing pad. We stayed very neutral with colors as we didn't know we were having a boy until March.

Since being back stateside we've bought a table to use for changing and storage (shelves), a convertible crib (baby, toddler, full sized), and a bunch of clothes. (my mom lives near a carter's outlet) I found a rocking chair for $25 at an antique mall and I love it! I've bought a few Fuzzi Bunz here and a moby wrap that is on the way. Oh, and a Chicco Key Fit 30car seat and a new Car. heh.

I've been making soft toys. So far I've made a book, 2 stuffed animals and I'm working on blocks. I'm also working on a quilt for him and I've already made a crochet blanket.

Things we still need number quite a few. Since we aren't expecting a baby shower we'll be buying most of it ourselves.
Still on the list:

My lil sis also got me a boppy and she bought a bouncy seat from TRU and then bought a 3 in 1 swing and doesn't need the bouncy seat anymore and gave it to us too. So thanks to my lil sis all my "big stuff" is taken care of

After reading all the postings, I think my husband is right... I have gone overboard, opps:) This is our first so I am sure there are going to be things that I will not end up using but I just have to find that out for my self. I also have the the bad habit of saying "the next baby can use this too so it is really only half the cost:)!" I can justify anything.

I am so glad I have gotten this new obsession with cd'ing. I am going to start embellishing the pf's to keep me from buying more stuff! I just got my first AIO diaper making kit which should take me a bit to do and I have gotten into making maternity dresses. I have decided from here on out I am only wearing cute dresses. It is too hot down here to wear anything else:)

I am trying to keep busy but I am SOOO excited to have this baby!

The only things left on our list as of now are the double stroller and the changing table. I need to order the changing table, and I need to do it quickly because I can't wait any longer to "set up" the newborn stash. LOL.
We also need a double stroller. I was COUNTING on our stimulus check but we got semi-hosed on this (I started a business last year and apparently it affected our tax liability). I'm so bummed... The one I *need* to have is the phil and ted's. It's $489. HAHA.... that's 100 gallons of heating oil. Ouch.

Aside from that, and a picture my husband said he would paint for the room, we are done I guess. Oh, I need a diaper pail and a small trash can, but I'll pick those up at target or whatever next time I'm there.
