So, I had my first real apt today and not with my midwife either. It was another one who just made me feel really uncomfortable. Last time I was there they told me I wasn't going to have an internal exam as I had one in Sept, well I did. She said she just wasn't going to do a pap. So, here I am with my three year old son (he sees me naked but, it was just bit uncomfortable having him there) and I forgot to put deodorant on, was just wearing shoes with no sock so my feet stunk, and I only shaved the bottom half of my legs. I was wearing a skirt so she said I could just take off my underwear but, she didn't leave the room. I know she going to see my anyways but, it was just uncomfortable with her standing there watching me take off my underwear. To top if off she said since I was only ten weeks she wasn't going to try to hear the heartbeat. Well I told her I was going to be 12 weeks this Thursday so she did try but, heard nothing. Which just put me in such a mood. I was so looking forward to hearing the heartbeat to put my nerves at ease. I am getting an ultrasound but, for some reason they couldn't schedule one for me at the time I left. They have to call me. I really hope they call tomorrow so I can just see and hear this little baby. They made an apt for me to see here again but, I going to cancel and tell them I want my midwife. I also drank two bottles of water, some grape juice, and milk and still said I wasn't drinking enough. Just nothing seemed good about it.

So sorry, mama!
There are a couple of NP in my OB's office, and I put off my visit by 2 weeks (I'll almost be 10wks when I go) bc there's one of them whose kinda weird like that and I prefer not to see her.
And I was roflmbo reading about only shaving the bottom half of your legs. When I went for my last yearly exam with my OB, I had taken great care to shave my legs, but realized when I got the the docs office I had forgotten my armpits!!!! And she was doing a breast exam.....I was mortified. I aplogized and she said don't worry, she doesn't pay attention to that kind of thing, but thought it was funny that I was worried about it. Uggghh....with 3 kids around the last thing I had though about was the pits....:)

:hugs: I hope things get better for you mama. You can always turn down the internal exam. Do whatever is most comfortable for you, you and your baby are what matters. So if you only want your midwife say you'd rather set appointments when she is available. I started with an OB and they asked if she told me that my apt.'s with her and one other person and I said no, so they let me schedule my apt's only with her, but I ended up switching to a midwife who always meet with me.

:hugs: sorry about the not so great appt. im a bit confused as to what an internal exam would be if not a pap? :headscratch: remember that you can say no, its your body. :hugs: hopefully you are able to schedule with your mw next time. don't be afraid to call tomorrow about your u/s if you don't hear from them.
