We found out on Friday that DH got a BIG promotion at work! :celebrate: :cheerleader3: :celebrate: :cheerleader3: It is SUPER exciting for us, but it will also mean a lot of changes for our family. The 2 main ones are that we will be moving about 90 minutes from where we live now and the other is that I will not be doing daycare anymore. It's hard to believe that I've been in this field for 9 yrs now, but I must say that I am feeling a little burnt out and am looking forward to being able to focus on my own family and home school my kids! :goodvibes:

So, back to the moving thing. I am due May 27th and we're hoping to be in a rental house in our new town on June 1st. Is that totally crazy? DH started in his new position today and he has to be there, staying in a hotel M-F every week, so the sooner we can move, the sooner we can all be together as a family again. DH has been traveling a LOT for work since August, so we are REALLY looking forward to him being home with us every day. I also feel like there is so much that I need to do to get our house ready to sell. I have to paint the whole thing (all 2300 sq ft of it! :yuck: ) because I really like bright bold colors and I don't think most people do, so I need to paint over my bright bold colors with lighter neutral colors. I'm a little worried about being exposed to that many paint fumes while still pregnant. But, it's either that or wait & do it after the baby is born, but then I'd probably be carrying the baby in a sling while painting, which I think would be worse for the baby than being exposed to it while still inside me. What do you think? I would, of course, have lots of windows open while painting. I'm also going to start packing things up this week to move into a storage facility in our new town, just until we find a rental house, and I need to finish landscaping this house before we list it! Yikes! So much to do!
Which leads me to my biggest worry... how do you find a rental house when you have 4 kids and a dog & cat?! I'm pretty nervous about it! I'm hoping that we get lucky and find a very lenient landlord!

WHOA:lostit: first off congrats on that big promotion :lostit:

i would DEF. suggest hiring someone, if possible, to paint for you  maybe post an ad on craigslist? or hire out of the phone book. Or maybe even family and friends can help? So you can deal with packing and or the landscaping. That, if you can, may be a good idea to hire someone?? the landscaping. I dont know about where you live, but here its already SO HOT. I cant be out there longer than 10min before i start to feel sick :yuck:

and when we moved out to Vegas we used a realtor to help us find a home to rent  we noticed we got GREAT prices through a realtor. There are LOTS of homes that allow pets too. you just may need to pay more of a deposit :yuck: and sometimes more a month [double :yuck: ]

good luck!!!

So, I've been MIA for pretty much the whole week because I've been busy packing & painting. I can't believe all the stuff that has been going on with you mamas in only a week! I guess we are due this month, though, aren't we?! Time flies!
We made a trip to the town where we will be moving to since I had never been there before. Now, I'm having all kinds of contractions, they get regular and then they stop and then start again. Some have even been waking me up at night, 3 or 4 times a night. It has been going on since Wednesday, so I'm not holding my breath that it's actually starting anything, but you never know!
We haven't had any luck finding a house to rent yet, but we did get a storage unit and already moved some stuff so that it is at least in that town now.
I am pretty much the painter in the family, there isn't anyone else to do it other than me and we can't really afford to hire it done right now... maybe in a month, but not right now, so I have gotten 1 room painted and only have 9 more to go! :yuck: It's exhausting and I have to keep sitting down and taking breaks. :yuck:
As far as the landscaping goes, I'm pretty much the only one to do that too. I think my mom will come and help me with it when I'm ready, but I have to get some dirt delivered before I can start on it. Luckily it isn't hot out here yet. We've actually had record low temps this spring, I think it's about 50 today and that is warm!
I'm so tired... DH took the kids Mother's Day shopping today and it's so nice to be able to sit down at the computer and rest for a little while!
