I'm sorry if this has been posted before. I'm still new!
My baby is 9 months. (please don't flame me!) We had him circumsized at birth. I don't like the way it looks. It seems like "the tip" is stuck to what was circumsized. It's dark purple and there seems to be a large amount of access skin. "The tip" does not move. Is that normal? I have an older boy who was done, but his didn't look like this? My other mom was changing him and noticed this. The doctor has looked at him several times and never said anything.

Take him in and ask about it. Sometimes if the parents don't ask, the doctors don't tell.

I would ask the doctor to look at it. Both of my boys have been circumsized and I have not had that problem with either of them. Carter's did take a lot longer to heal, but he's almost 8 months old and it looks fine now.

I don't know how long it's been like this. I did try pulling the skin back. It's attached to the head of the penis on the side and most of the underneath. It's hard to see the purple area because of all the excess skin . It's almost like he didn't have one. My husband said it's not right for sure. He isn't in any pain from it.

Sorry mama I think if it's attached you probably need to get the Dr. involved. I might try putting vasiline on it for a week or so to see if that might soften the skin enough that it could be pushed back, but that might hurt him. :hugs:

My son has the exact same thing. I have been to the pediatrician over this three times now. He had skin on each side attatched like that. One of them they broke, but now that he is older they don't want to break the other side. They are afraid if they do now it will bleed out. So if it hasn't broke by his 6 mos appt. they are sending him to a pediatric urologist to have it cut. I will never circ another boy.

That's what I was afraid of! I don't want to do anything else to him! He's had enough trama in his life already! Poor kid was lifeflighted when he was 3 weeks old.
UGH! I dont wanna!!!

my dh and i are arguing over this rightnow. I dont want to circ Aidan when he comes in about 11 wks. We even discussed this with our ob who agreed with me the only reason people do it is b/c of comsetic/social issues that there is no medical benefit, yet Dh still wants to do it. I dont understand it. I hope everything is ok.

I would get in touch with your pediatrician. Another thing we are trying is keeping a&d ointment on there at all times, b/c another lady was telling me her ped told her the natural stiffening of the penis would eventually break the skin on it's own. The a&d keeps it soft so it is more likely to go ahead and separate.

Would it possibly retract on it's own eventually? Like an uncircumsised penis?
Hope it all works out.:hugs:

I would just make an appointment with a Urologist. We've been seeing one for our ds since birth due to a botched circ.
It will make you feel better and can't hurt to be seen by one.

My boy is not circ'd, any I am not 100% comfy with replying to this just as my experience with little boys who are circ'd is very limited (a few diaper changes ot friend's kids) but that doesn't sound right to me. I would call a ped uroligist and ask to have him be seen, just to check things out. I'm thinking that if the skin is so tight that it doesn't move, it would cause some problems as the penis grows, but I'm not sure.
