That is SO kind of you! There are many women out there looking for someone like you..BUT it is very $$$...as far as I knew it even cost more the IVF.
I have a friend who just looked into doing this..but she was told to get an egg would be $17,000 :( (I am sure this is from someone "selling" their egg?! but dont know)...they do not want to adopt...so now they will go childless :(

well I loked up an agency today to do this and my compensation would be 5000...wich dosent really matter to me I just hate that there are so many undiserving people out there that have kids and a buse them..and then there are so many people that would LOVE the chance to have kids...the agency said that the reciever would have to pay the doc bills or if their ins. covers it then the ins. would have to pay it and then I would get 5000...which forr time and travel and pain etc..I guess but I think thats a little much...

I've thought about doing this, or being a surrogate, but my fiance isn't sure. We've only slightly talked about it especially being as we're not done having children yet. But i would so love to help a childless family, and i can't think of a better way, than to be able to give them a baby.

I've heard of embryo adoption... where if a couple who went thru infertility treatments had any fertilized frozen embryos that they didn't use because either they got the number of children they wanted, or it wasn't successful and they went another way... I looked into that a little bit, because I really wanted to carry a pregnancy to term and we were having difficulty conceiving.. but now it seems after 3 miscarriages, this would be a very risky thing for us to try...

I can't remember now where I saw this, or the name of the company, but I think I've even seen it advertized in magazines... I'm sure a google search would bring something up..

We have adopted several children and want to one more time. I had thought this last time we would go through surrogacy, we cant use my eggs I had endometriosis. But when I checked into it its soooo expensive
I had looked into going through India, but really havent found much information. So looks like this mught not work for us.

I have been thinking about this as well...obviously after I recover from having the twins and such...I can't seem to find too much info though...I obviously have good eggs :giggle: I would love to help someone have a baby - I don't know how it feels to not be able to have kids but I can only imagine the pain it could cause and I would love to help someone.

I've looked into it, but I've experienced recurrent loss, so I doubt I'm low enough risk for egg donation.

It was something I'd thought about, too, but knowing most egg donors are college age, I guess I just assumed I'd be too old (I'm almost 28). I'm personally not sure how I feel about it now; if I'm honest, the compensation rubs me the wrong way.

I've offered to be a surrogate for a very close friend of mine who has just found out she has Stage IV endo. She needs to have some tests run to see if she has chorionic villi, I believe, which will determine whether they should attempt IVF or not, or go straight to adoption (they can't afford both at this point) and think about the surrogacy for a second child.

Now that we're finally pregnant with #2, we're thinking this child may be our last to come to us through pregnancy. I've been drawn to adoption since I first learnt what it is, and that is the way we hope to add another two children to our family.

As an egg donor myself, do a search for egg donation centers in your area or contact a local reproductive endocrinologist. do a search for fertility doctors in your area and make an appointment to talk to one or two or 4. They have loads of information and would be willing to help you.

I would love to donate eggs or even be a surrogate! I would love to give a couple the joy that I have experience with my dd's.

I have begun to look into egg donation locally, but haven't gotten much further yet.

There was a really moving post by a DS mom who was a surrogate in Off Topic Discussion a few weeks ago, I believe....
For those of you thinking about surrogacy, you should read it...
